My name is Nadine and somehow my middle school gym teacher came up with the nickname Nasalot and it sorta stuck! No idea why I have a 1 in there LOL but 88 was the year I was born!

My name is Chantel and there was another Chantel in my collage class and my professor said that won't do. What is my last name. Well my maiden name was *edder and she couldn't understand what I was saying so I stupidly said "you know kind of like cheddar but with a *". So she called me cheddar for three years. It stuck. Now my married last name is *yvie so my collage friends sometimes call me Chyvie to keep with it.

When I saw my default name, I didn’t realize that everyone’s default name started with “knottie”. However, one of my hobbies involves rope and decorative knots, so the name cracked me up- so, knottie amusements. 

I will admit to there being a double entendre in there.

I barely remember because I've been using this name since I was 18 or so. I know Dru comes from Buffy, and Rose just sounded nice I think? It just sort of follows me around various forums because I've been using it for so long and it's usually not taken.

@KFrob in retrospect I wish I'd chosen a catchier name, I don't remember so many creepy stories about identity theft when I was on the June 16 board. Now there's no way to make the world not see mine or my kids name

Concrete Angel is a Martina McBride song that I related to a lot when I was younger. But of course it was taken, so concreteayngel....it’s been my go-to username for like a decade.

Mine is my gamer tag.. I’m a red head and when I set it up “ginger” was taken so I used jynjer and it’s stuck ever since. Here I added 91 because jynjer was taken and that’s the year I was born.

Mine is pretty self-explanatory. I cannot ever sit completely still, I always have to do something with my hands. Quilting and knitting are two of my favorite hobbies!

@quiltandknit How did you learn to quilt and knit? I’ve always wanted to learn, but the “teach yourself to knit” kits are pretty useless.

@concreteayngel - I taught myself to knit using a website with very helpfully color coded animated gifs.  I’m with you- the books are useless until you get down the basics.

I have a feeling we'd get along. I've really wanted to learn rope and knot work.

I was obsessed with Moulin Rouge in HS. They called Satine the “Sparkling Diamond” I believe. So I came up with “Sparkling Whit” because my name is Whitney and I’m a big nerd.

@concreteayngel I learned to knit from YouTube! I started with basic scarves and flat lap blankets. Then I just looked for beginner patterns and found videos for the steps I didnt know how to do! It takes practice (and a lot of pulling out and starting over)!

@concreteayngel - I perhaps should have mentioned that I did that close to 20yrs ago.  I’d also look at YouTube now.  My suggestion would be to find videos that are super short (like less than 2min) that teach you (in individual videos) how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off. Skip any videos with long intros or don’t show super close-up of the stitching, because you are going to end up replaying the videos a hundred times until you get it and you need to see what they are actually doing.

Mine isn’t too creative... I was trying to think of things I like when I first created it, and the first thing that came to mind was pumpkin pancakes... I love pancakes!

@acciocoffee I am with you. usually drinking coffee all day (and I work weekends at Starbucks because after working there in the past I missed it so they convinced me to come back just for weekends) and I cannot stomach it at all for the past month.

@quiltandknit I love to knit! and sew (but not so much quilting because I have a small house, four kids, and not enough patience). But I always have at least one knitting project on my needles. Are you on ravelry? I am norahkathleen there.

I don’t know why purple, but goldfish is part of my laptop’s name.  Not sure why I picked goldfish, but the second part of the laptop’s is after a friend. 2 is because apparently there is another purple goldfish on the site.... so basically I have no idea why I picked it, it just kind of popped in my head.
