Re: Symptoms week of 3/5

  • I have a weird one...i will occasionally find something so funny that's not that funny but won t be able to stop kaughing. I'll cry I'm laughing so hard or think about it minutes later and cry again I'm laughing so hard.

  • I don't remember being this tired the first time! I could nap all day. I guess it's the extra work of caring for a boy full of energy that's got me tired. Does anyone else find it difficult to drink tons of water during the day? I get so bloated feeling but I know its necessary to keep hydrated.
  • @SmashJam totally had that while watching Boss Baby! It's like I was laughing at how ridiculous my crying was

@ashbub714 @DynamiteTrujillo @foxbaby2016 @kissableviv @rachelsogo mmmm cold milk! Got up, went downstairs and drank a tall glass after reading this!!!

I get nosebleeds very often now. Had 4 in one day last week.  Also extremely winded after short periods of walking, especially stairs. Some mild back aches.

Edited because hit post too soon by accident.
  • @babybakie I got winded yesterday walking from Chipotle to my car, getting in it and putting my seat belt on. sometimes I'm not sure how i'm going to make it 4 more months.

  • @babybakie my nose doesn't bleed but it's definitely always  a bit congested
  • Ah, the super emotionality, (I cried when my husband did the laundry and I had a fresh towel for my shower) restless legs, exhaustion, heartburn, congestion, and in the middle of the night last night for the first time, a charley horse in my leg that still hurts tonight.

  • @chaser61 not really an end to those pregnancy symptoms, especially if you count post-partum troubles! I know that carpal tunnel can develop after post-partum, too. I have a friend who developed it in her wrists after baby #2.
Hopefully those of you with the numbness can find some relief. Would sleeping at an incline help, or can you not do that because you're still leaning on your back for a long time?

  • Ugh insomnia. Also why does my body decide to have a BM at 4am?!? I just want to sleep! I wake up feeling so tired and sore all over. I’m curious has anyone’s doctor commented on maybe some sort of vitamin deficiency leading to this whole tired/sore body? Or maybe it’s just chasing after a toddler.
  • @rizzige03 maybe try chugging an entire glass of room temp water? That's the only way I can ensure getting my water in...if I don't give myself time to forget to drink it haha

  • Sorry, I'm super late but I've been having the carpal tunnel symptoms, too. The other morning I woke up and both hands and fingers were completely numb. One of my daily bump notifications said that is a common symptom of pregnancy. So weird! @chaser61

Yesterday my urine was tested and tested positive for protein but my doctor didn't mention it. I've had chronic hypertension since I was a teenager, so I'm not sure if my high blood pressure is pregnancy related or a before thing. I think I'm going to call Monday and ask.
  • I just talked to my chiropractor about carpal tunnel and he said to do some research on vitamin B6. He thinks it will help. I have started sleeping with my wrist and hands straight out rather than curving it around a pillow. That helps...although of course I move in my sleep and have to re adjust. I don’t think wearing a wrist splint would be comfortable at night.
  • @wildtot my doctor put me on b12, vitamin d, calcium, and iron because my levels were low. The b12 has helped with exhaustion and I've noticed I'm less achy.  I'm still exhausted however thats because I currently have insomnia...maybe grab some b12 to see if it helps?

I love my wrist splints at night! They help so much! I developed the carpal tunnel after my daughter was born. I did the testing and had severe in both arms but I manage with splints and have avoided surgery
  • I am in line buying my splints now! Thanks all.
  • @zombiehoohaa I didn't think about b12 for exhaustion, for me the iron helped immensely. Did your doc have you do Vitamin K with the D? I hear it does better for absorption to take both and have put off buying D until I do more research.
  • I second the B12 I was taking it a few months before getting pregnant, I was teaching a bunch of classes after work and it helped with energy.
  • @SmashJam she has me on calcium with vitamin d. I've only been on that for a couple weeks. There may be vitamin k in it too. It's a big a$$ horse pill.

    @wildtot hope it helps!!

  • Ok, anyone else feel worse after waking up from a nap?

Also, I fully regret eating cereal this morning with cow's milk. I didn't eat/drink any extra milk but I feel so sick right now and nearly threw up a bit ago. I had to go shopping so I'm at Wegmans now munching on bread and hot wings to help me feel better.

  • @flockofmoosen3 I am not a napper so I always feel super groggy after one.
Sorry about the milk! I had a big late lunch yesterday so we skipped dinner and I craved a bowl of cereal when we came home from the movies. That's what I had before bed! I hope it's a one time reaction? Have you been drinking cow milk the whole pregnancy and before?

I was a strict almond milk person before but the craving for cow milk was too strong.
  • @flockofmoosen3 i generally feel worse after naps so i just try to avoid them. They can never be long enough lol
sorry about the milk. I’m ok with milk but i usually can do too much cereal especially Cheerios because of the after taste
  • @kissableviv no, i normally love cow's milk but this pregnancy I can't drink it. I should have known better not to put it in my cereal but I didn't want to use my son's almond milk since it's almost out. I am feeling better now with the wings and bread tho, which is great.

  • Anyone else dealing with thin/chipping nails? Usually prenatals are good and make them nicer but they seem pretty weak lately. Sadly this is their natural state when not pregnant.
  • @wildtot my prenatals have been GREAT at making my nails grow faster but have done nothing to make them stronger. So now they grow fast and break constantly  :|
  • @wiltot thin chipping nails over here too. Although it’s genetic in the women in my family so I didn’t really have hopes of it getting better
  • Glad to hear I’m not the only one, guess i should stick to short nails.
