@ashh2018 good luck with your wax! Hope this one isn't bad and makes you less apprehensive for future waxes this pregnancy! I'm jealous, I need that in my life I don't take enough time to shave regularly, yuck.
@EErin86 does your dog also respond if/when you say babe or buddy and not mean them? Earlier tonight I called DS babe and my boy dog responded haha.
Lol no, the dogs have several key words including, but not limited to: snack, food, outside, who's home, go to bed. The one pictured is a big fan of story time with DD though
@EErin86 is that a vizsla? I have two German shorthairs and have fallen in love with the breed. We had a weimaraner previously, but he was a Velcro dog and I get afraid the vizsla will be as velcro-y as he was...as my 70lb GSP insists on sitting on my lap.
I managed to do and fold 5 loads of laundry, put most away, keep toddler alive even though he napped 20 min, had an appointment that lead to 3 hours out of the house, and organized and cleaned our living room which is part playroom. And I woke up an hour early thanks to toddler, and have started a sinus based cold. DH says he was surprised dishes weren't done when he got home. Really? Then he only did like a third of them. So I did the rest because unless he finishes a load he doesn't do silverware at all. Plus tomorrow I'm gone for 11 hours, so I hate coming home to them when I'm tired and hungry. Plus all of DS's forks were dirty. Last week he did nothing while he had cold.

I just got home from getting my legs waxed and there is a ton of hair left on them (sorry, WAY TMI). I didn’t inspect them before I left bc it didn’t occur to me, but what the actual hell? I did not put up with all that pain and spend all that money to just have to redo this myself. I’m so freaking mad.
@ashh2018 I’d go back and ask for them to finish the job! This falls into the category of things like hair cuts and manicures where if they didn’t do it to your liking, they should fix it.
I have yet to do a wax outside my home because I’m a chicken. I do sugaring at home for bikini area, and I imagine it’s not TOO much more painful to get a real bikini wax somewhere, but I like being in control of my own pain but I am a leg shaver everyday. It’s like the one thing I must do for myself every morning.

That would infuriate me. I'd make them finish the job asap, for free

@fwtx5815@pourmeamocktail I’m like crying (which is idiotic, I know). I absolutely should go back there tomorrow but the reason it’s so hard for me to go in the first place is I’m a chicken and I’m so uncomfortable! Now I would have to go face them again? Haha ugh. It’s like really bad. I emailed and explained my problem and I will send them pictures if I have to (I’ll spare you all the pictures LMAO). I’m so upset. And my original concern, pregnancy hormones make waxing more painful, was 10000000% TRUE
@Patience7150 we have a GSP and a Vizsla. Love them both and both are great breeds. The vizsla is a bit more sensitive and Velcro, but our GSP is pretty attached, too. Our vizsla is more “nanny” to DS - plays with him and checks on him when he fusses, etc. The GSP is fine with our son and lets him pet him/ crawl all over him, but is less likely to seek interaction with him. The dogs are definitely attached to each other though and cannot be separated.
@ashh2018 I hear you, and totally your choice, but at least try to get your money back. Also-I am less prone to ingrown hair during pregnancy. I don't know if that's normal, but just offering.
@yosemite2018 and @nlc8424 He did back down pretty quick, but seriously? It really frustrates me when he acts like I have nothing to do but chores all day, but when he's home on baby duty he gets nothing done until baby is asleep. I had let him know at the time that there was no nap. The fact that I got clothes folded should have been shocking. Both toddler and dogs work at making a mess of folded clothes.
Today I nanny with toddler for another toddler, gone nearly 12 hours, but I'm hoping I can at least get to bed early on Thursday...when I work all day, and get in a nap while he naps on Friday...before going to work Friday night until midnight....
My hardest part of the week is Wed-Fri, so I'm frustrated when someone gets me sick on Tuesday. Not sure if it was husband from last night, or in-laws that visited sunday. They did NOT tell us until they arrived that they were just in the tail end of "a really awful cold."
So much inconsiderate.
Oh well, what can I do? Thanks for listening y'all.

@Patience7150 yes she's a vizsla! I would say in general they are more chill than Weimaraners. I really like the breed but I would be really picky about breeders, definitely meet their dogs and see what the personality is. Mine is also from a stronger show/agility line than hunting specifically (she is an excellent bug hunter though)
@pourmeamocktail Ohhh that is one of my biggest pet peeves...if you think you're getting sick, know you're sick or are getting over being sick...just stay home! I hope you feel better soon and are able to get some rest!
Thinking about all of you in the Northeast! Stay safe!

We are at work today, despite staying late last night to do the special Wednesday morning duties. The main road looks pretty clear (for now), but omg the snow is really starting to come down heavier now!
Lol @klj0228 Absolutely! Thankfully someone finally made the call. I'm in the truck warming up.... <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/ox/k668s4ubsacl.gif" alt="">
Just ate a giant Italian sub and a bag of BBQ chips and my nausea is gone for the moment, so I feel amazing. DH said "aren't you not supposed to eat cold cuts?" as he handed me my sandwich and I shushed him and grabbed it out of his hand. He really should know by now not to tell a pregnant lady what to eat.

Not pregnancy related, but does anyone have any experience with the Metropolitan Readiness Test for Kindergarten? My daughter is taking it this month and I’m wondering if there’s anything we need to do to prepare.
We bought a loveseat off my inlaws and picked it up last night, I decided it smelled funky and needed to be shampooed... so I got out the 8’ dusting pole and thoroughly dusted and vaccumed the whole main level of the house (completly open concept), so that shampooing wouldn’t be ruined by the dust next time I clean... even though I 100% intend to buy 2 slipcovers to alternate for easy cleaning.
...OCD much?! Thank you DD for giving me a whole new level of obsession. And I am really dreading the crash that will result from expending this much energy...

@love4b I don't have experience with it, but my DD is also starting Kindergarten this year and I know there are certain things they need to know, but not sure if it's the same as the test you referenced. Is she in pre-school/daycare? If so, they would probably be able to provide information about how to help her prepare and what is included on the test.

@love4b and @southernlady07 I also have a daughter starting K this fall! It’s my second one though and I have no idea about that test. She’ll be 5 in April so she’s going! She’s in preK at the same school this year so it’s not a big change for us. The biggest change and best part is that she will be able to take the bus with her older sister!

Had an appt with my GP today and was hoping to hear the heartbeat but I guess you can't hear it at 10.5 weeks. Guess when I go back at 14 weeks, he will try. Looking forward to going to my OB at 16 weeks. It's like, I know that I am pregnant, but I just want something to make it feel real. A heartbeat, a movement, an US, anything. Just frustrated.
Is anyone else totally unable to focus at work this week? I feel like I hit a wall. I was super productive all of February. I wanted to get a bunch of impressive things done before telling my boss about the pregnancy. I did get a ton of things done, but I still haven’t told her and now I feel like a waste of space at work. I want to wait another few weeks to tell her, but I don’t feel like I can keep the momentum of February going. I’m still doing a good job and always will, but I lost the ‘above and beyond’ energy! I have a review coming up very soon and I want a raise! I do deserve it (but not so much this week). I’m trying to wait until after the review to tell her. Unless I start to show...we will see what happens first. I’m borderline able to hide my blump, but it’s getting harder.
@magnolia209 this was the norm for me in the first few weeks because of how craptastic I felt, and then at the end of my last pregnancy since they were slowly transitioning to my work over to someone else. I find that if I don't have a full plate then I'm also easily distracted!
Yesterday when I went to drop DS off at daycare I warned my provider that he didn't have a good night and had a cold. Well, turns out he had a rough day when I went to pick him up. I felt so bad! I never want to make someone else deal with my sick kid, I wish she would have called me to pick him up and either my mom or I would have. So I've tentatively asked my mom to watch DS today (which they'll both love) and hope that he's feeling better tomorrow. So much guilt with sick kids .
Hahaha ok I just have to share... I got sent some paperwork meant for a different employee so I scanned it, emailed, and said hey can you let this person know you are the correct contact? The response I got was... "Unfortunately, this is completely out of my control" haha wtf? I'm just going to use that line anytime I want to get out of doing something now
@eerin86 Haha this is how I imagine your coworker. Completely fed up with their job.
I'm definitely struggling today. I worked myself to death the past four days and am paying the price. Bless my dogs for being patient while waiting for their morning walk. Because I'm definitely just sitting here slowly getting computer work done while sipping tea.
@crispy11@love4b It is nice to connect with STMs with "older" kids because I think most of the STMs on this board have toddlers. I am super excited to be there for my DD during that transition and take/pick her up from school while I'm on maternity leave!

@klj0228 haha thanks! Today has been much better than yesterday. There's just always a lot to do. This weekend should be fun, Saturday I'm taking my niece to see A Wrinkle in Time before her birthday party and Sunday will be chilling then curling
I'm pretty sure my work stuff is still less stressful than those of you concerned about kindergarten testing! I'm glad our area just goes by age (and we are a few years away from worrying about it)
