Super random, but i have been a vegetarian for approx. 8 million years (by personal choice - i don't care for the taste or texture) and this baby wants a hot dog realllll bad. Has any one ever jumped on the meat train while pregnant?
@jengibre_zorro I’m a wicked carnivore so no personal experience... but if Phoebe from Friends ate meat during pregnancy I’m pretty sure no one gets to judge you
@jengibre_zorro just be prepared for some stomach upset. I know my friend who tried meat after being a vegetarian her whole life struggled with digestion.
@hellopartyof5 - yeah, i was wondering how that would sit. I guess the silver lining is that i feel terrible all the time, so really a hot dog tummy ache would just be a drop in the bucket, lol
I’m learning the beauty of buying things second hand. We got the baby a beautiful crib off Facebook marketplace for $100 and today I got a JuJuBe Be Prepared in amazing condition for $40! I’d be so much richer if I hadn’t been so OCD about getting stuff new.
Side note: apparently my OCD is only bothered by *me* messing something up. If something comes with scratches or dirty spots, it doesn’t bother me. Who knew?
Oh my god. So a friend of mine just texted me 100 times begging me to call her because she had big news. She proceeds to tell me about the wife of a mutual friend who went in to work today with some bad stomach cramps. They got bad enough that she ended up going to the hospital to have them check it out. Four hours later SHE DELIVERED A BABY BOY.
She had no idea she was pregnant the entire time. I'm better friends with her husband, so I haven't seen her in a long time to know if she looked any bigger or anything. Whenever I see that show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" I never understood how you could not know. So this happening to someone I actually know really freaks me out.
@SawyerRichardson and @cdepperschmidt It can totally happen! My best friend in highschool didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 7.5 months and felt a giant kick. Mind you she was 16 so not totally aware of her body and only got her period for the first time two months before getting pregnant so just assumed her cycle wasn't normal. She was plus size so didn't gain much weight to be noticable. Luckily her boyfriend stayed with her and they are married with 4 kids now.

A buddy of ours was just telling us a similar story. He said he saw her like a month before and commented that he thought she was pregnant but then she opened a beer. Sure enough, a month later she went in for stomach pains and gave birth.
I would be taking several tests after missing my period for more than one month!
@SawyerRichardson My best friend's SIL claims she didn't know she was pregnant TWICE. She had gained a lot of weight and just though she was gassy and somehow "didn't know". They even were on that show! My friend is skeptical (I am too, especially when you look at pictures) and thinks they just didn't want to admit it because they were young at the time (18 or 19 I think). The first time she didn't know til she was in labor and thought it was gas, and the second time it was like 7 or 8 months. *insert biggest eyeroll*
Ummm... I’m guessing that those of you who can’t imagine not knowing you’re pregnant haven’t had to deal with PCOS. Last time I went off birth control, I didn’t get my period back for nearly a year. Given my current experience with pregnancy, and my distaste for doctors, I probably wouldn’t have gone in to get checked out either. I finally mentioned my lack of period at my annual exam, and the doctor appropriately followed up. (The first time I mentioned it, the doctor told me I was still young enough to have irregular periods, and no big deal- so I literally went undiagnosed for nearly a decade.)
And yes- I’m a heavier woman. I know that I’ll show in a few months because of my build, but think of the women who always carry their weight as if they are pregnant...
She said she had a period the whole time so didn't have a reason to think twice about it. Baby is healthy, but she is a smoker so very low birth weight (4 pounds and change).
Pregnancy is so different person to person, it's amazing.
@cdepperschmidt - I didn’t start getting period cramps until I was in my mid-thirties. I’ve honestly wondered once or twice if I am developing endometriosis since they have gradually gotten worse over the last five years. (There is also a history of it in my family.)
The only thing I didn’t like about having PCOS is that when my period arrived, I didn’t know until I went to the bathroom. I ended up washing out my pants almost every time. (That said- I also wasn’t trying to get pregnant and I didn’t have some of the more distressing symptoms such as growing a mustache or copious amounts of chest hair.)
I was actually shocked that I got pregnant my second month of TTC. While my periods have been regular for almost a decade now, I also knew the odds were stacked against me.
I totally get missing a pregnancy right up until when there's movement. Maybe my daughter was extreme, but there is no effing way anyone could claim they didn't notice the kind of dance parties she threw. People could see the movement from across the room.

I was honestly shocked I got pregnant during the 4th cycle of my husband and I trying. Between his vascetomy reversal and my PCOS, I was expecting more of a struggle. I'm not complaining though and I'm very thankful.
@sammierose464 mine are totally regular as well and only missed twice (not counting pregnancy). Tried for many years and nothing until now. I have the hair everywhere issue and the hard to lose weight issue. Ugh could be worse!
@SweetSweetTooth I was on bc when I was diagnosed, so had been super regular. I'm pretty sure the metformin was what kept me regular when I went off bc.
After I was diagnosed, I went on Metformin, cut a bunch of sugar from my diet and started exercising. My period came back and was regular like clockwork. I lost a lot of weight, and about three years later, my doctor let me stop taking the Metformin. I’ve since gained the weight back, but as long as I keep the amount of sugar in my diet reasonable, my periods stay regular. I’m pretty sure though, that even if I had been able to make the lifestyle changes successfully, without the Metformin, my periods would never have evened out.
Re: Randoms 3/2
(+100 for using the term meat train)

@krzyriver the used baby market is the best. Used, like new is a real thing.
