This week so far has been all about potatoes... I've wanted them all; mashed, baked and of course, french fries. Currently eating some sweet potato fries with my eggs this morning.
@smsaulino potatoes are a favorite of mine right now too!
Prior to being pregnant I could not eat bread without getting an upset stomach so I am amazed that I am able to eat all the bread I want now! I’m loving bagels, grilled cheese, and peanut butter and jelly on white bread.
I've been dealing with the worst nausea and sickness this week (morning sickness plus upset stomach from antibiotics for a sinus infection) so I am basically eating what I can stomach. Must be week of the potatoes @smsaulino ...Yesterday for lunch I literally had potatoes and green beans... It was the only thing that sounded good lol. Eating a lot of carbs - cheerios with bananas, english muffins, PB toast...
I have an egg aversion and the absolutely worst- A COFFEE aversion. I am a coffee lover- the taste, the routine etc. so it's been crazy! Hopefully the MS will last only a few more weeks and my antibiotic is done this weekend so I am praying the upset stomach will improve!

@chicandbubbly I can't even imagine having a coffee aversion... now that would be the worst. I used to drink a lot of coffee before I got pregnant and even up to my 5th week, when I found out. I use my daily limit of caffeine for coffee. It has helped a lot with headaches that I've gotten. I hope that your aversion to coffee is over quickly.
@smsaulino totally feeling ya on all the potatoes/potato products. @klj0228 I was never a big bread person prior to pregnancy at all. Now its one of the few things that seems good to me. I'm trying to get in some other things other than carbs but MS makes most foods sound so unappealing!

This is what I like to call the American Heart Association Diet. If you don't need to see a cardiologist before, you might after you eat it. Hashbrowns that are over fried & super crunchy, country eggs (eggs, sausage, ham, cheese, hashbrowns, onions & green pepper) and two pieces of soft bacon. Can't forget the Starbucks either... although I miss the grande, the tall will have to do.
I too have a coffee aversion. It’s terrible. I get about 2-3 sips in and can’t stomach it. Which is sad, because I normally looooove coffee. I hope my taste for it returns before this kid pops out, because I’m going to need it!
My taste for coffee is finally coming back. But not homemade coffee/lattes. Nope, only expensive Starbucks or other coffee shop flavored lattes. I’m thinking my baby is basic.
@smsaulino you should look up what a garbage plate is, native to Rochester, NY (not where I live or am from). Now those are a heart attack waiting to happen. May want to avoid if you're currently in MS hell or get nauseated easily.
I had 2 pieces of salmon sushi on Monday. I have it about once every 3 weeks because veggie sushi just isn’t cutting it. Last night I had a dream about a roast beef sandwich and tomorrow work is ordering from an awesome deli so I am debating eating one... if I decide to be a good pregnant lady then it’ll be a gluten free cheese and avocado sandwich which sounds soooo boring... so we’ll see.
@yosemite2018 sushi was one of the things that my doctor said was totally fine even though many people say it isn’t! I don’t love sushi so I didn’t care either way haha.
I finally had the energy to make myself some food! Yesterday I packed myself a lunch of quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes, sautéed spinach, and black beans. And then my boss decided he wanted us all to go out for lunch *eyeroll*. The 7 month pregnant woman on my team suggested sushi lol.
I have been craving sushi...I’m thinking I will cave and get some vegetarian sushi and have DH get real sushi so I can have a couple pieces.
For my first lunch today I made grilled cheese and tomato soup. For my second lunch I have not yet decided what I want. Because my ms is really bad in the evenings, even on meds, I am trying to make everything I eat before 3pm really count.
The last 2 days I've been so hungry. This is new for me. I think I'm taking a turn in my pregnancy because MS has not been as common and I'm now starting to have some specific cravings. I made my husband go out and buy me Ben and Jerry's cherry Garcia a few nights ago. Just had to have that chocolate and fruit combo! I also have started looking bacon, which I was not a big fan of before pregnancy. I hope I start craving healthier food...
I want sushi so bad, just need to find budget room. Gonna have the real stuff.

I’ve had a serious meat aversion this pregnancy, EXCEPT for the chicken salad at our bakery in town. I can’t get enough of it!! Grapes and craisins and red onion and Greek yogurt and chicken! So happy to have a decent source of protein. My body wasn’t too impressed with the amount of beans I’ve been eating. Also managed to have a salad last night (with tons of cheese on it, but still, some veggies!) it’s been a decent week for eating.
Peanut butter. Straight from the jar. While taking a bath. It's exactly like those sexy Instagram pictures of ladies drinking a glass of wine in the tub with their Lush bath bomb. Except for it's sad and not sexy. And there's no wine or bath bomb.
@smsaulino Over here in crazyland, potatoes make me want to gag. Any kind of potato - mashed, fried, baked, roasted - all nausea inducing. Just typing this is making me nauseous. It was the same way with my first pregnancy. Crazy, because I’m usually a big fan.
@stothi I’m with you on the peanut butter! Right out of the jar. It totally grosses my hubby out, but sometimes I’ll alternate between a bite of peanut butter and a bite of cottage cheese. Peanut butter is also surprisingly delicious on blue corn tortilla chips. No shame in my game
@love4b I would normally not eat it straight from the jar, but it's almost empty so I figured why not? I'm not going to put it back on the shelf and will just finish it. I wish I had mini chocolate chips to put in it.
I love peanut butter and chocolate chips, or really any form of peanut butter and chocolate. I'm enjoying my peanut butter now before it turns into instant heart burn later.
@love4b I can't quite be okay with the thought of alternating bites of peanut butter and cottage cheese. I don't eat dairy much.. but for some weird reason, I am tempted to try this..
Just did what little meal prepping that I do. I cut up 2 big containers of fresh strawberries. We will have them with bananas and mango smoothie this week for breakfast.
Enjoyed some frozen yogurt with lots of toppings while DD played at the park this afternoon! MH is currently making salmon, roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli for dinner while DD and I watch The Lion King.

@SkilledSailor I'm still torn about gardening this year. Besides the warning against it, our garden peaks in the middle of September and I'm not sure I'll be into that then
@redpuma119 The warnings are against digging in the dirt so H is going to do all the planting this year (with me sitting there giving step by step instructions). I think we should be ok to harvest. That stinks yours isn’t ready until September! Could your H plant any quick harvest things like snap peas?
@SkilledSailor & @Redpuma119, we are opting to take the year off from our garden, I’m looking forward to focusing on the flowerbeds that are always neglected and extra time w dd, less concern going away for weekend adventures. We may throw in a few pumpkins just because dd loves watching them grow.

I am really reeeeallly wanting to finally get our garden started. At least a little bit! If I can get started with seedlings in potting soil, that would be the next step is wrangling DH into putting them in the ground... ;) I feel like we might need some kind of a grow light tho to start the seeds?
