Re: Symptoms week of 2/26

  • Started a bit selfishly - Anyone else notice baby moving a lot after eating certain things? I just had a small hot chocolate and now baby is going crazy lol.

  • @nimmle  I've found baby to move after eating anything...definitely like her mamma and loves to eat :p

  • Yay for all the movement!!

I've been feeling pretty good so far, I'm just so tired all the time ( could be working FT and dealing with a 2 1/2 yr old and a 15 yr old at home) but the past few days my nipples are constantly hard (and it's getting a bit uncomfortable)

  • @nimmle totally! After anything sweet, caffeinated, or even just cold like ice water lol
    nimmle
  • @nimmle This past weekend I went to brunch with some friends and had French toast with syrup and a latte - baby was a wiggle monster!
    nimmleLadyJ2949
  • @ckmb_knottie Omg I totally want French Toast now. That sounds amazing
    ckmb_1250
  • Coffee seems to trigger the wiggles, caffeinated, decaf, doesn't matter. I get a little happy dance whenever I drink it.

Also sorry TMI, but finally being able to go to the bathroom again is amazing. Didn't realize how bad I was feeling until now!

  • I can see baby kicks sometimes! This is the part i missed the most.
    noideawhatshesdoingBrittG13
  • @wildtot I'm looking forward to that. Sometimes I'm still not convinced what I'm feeling is the baby and not myself!

  • 21, almost 22 weeks and I felt kicks on the outside wellllll above my belly button.. Guess that explains why my rib has been getting more and more irritated. I could juuuust feel the top of my ute (I think) level with my lowest ribs. Short torso problems  :s

  • Ugh today will be day 3 without a real poop. I'm not sure what has changed...my diet certainly hasn't and I'm drinking plenty of water. I am also in no way uncomfortable because of it, which I think is weird. TMI-I will feel like I am finally gonna go and I get really excited like, "this is it!" And then just the tiniest tiniest bit comes. Such a let down.

  • In the words of the lady at the bus stop from Forest Gump - my feet hurt. It’s not like i did anything out of the usual. Just feeling super tired over all.
    canucklehead123
  • The cankles!!! Oh the cankles! They finally went away though. But I know they'll be back.
finally felt movement last night, yay!
also, kind of getting cramps on one side. I may just need to drink more water today.

  • Feeling baby kick, but mostly in the morning right when I wake up or at night when I lay down.  I wish I could feel it all the time.  The absence of kicking makes me panic...even though I know it's not consistent for a while.  Also, anyone else getting a hard feeling where baby is (almost Braxton-Hicks like)?  I called the doctor's office and the nurse said not to freak out, it could be an irritation in my uterus.  But I'm still freaked out.

+1 for sore body (hips and legs, and feet, ughhhh)

  • I have not been feeling the baby super consistently-last night I got a jab so obvious I felt it from the outside, and the hubs even felt it a couple more times after that! I usually feel baby in a way that I feel confident that that is what it is before now, but its definitely early for me to feel it on the outside! Hoping it comes more consistently now!

I wake up every single morning having to blow my nose and it’s bloody. It takes ten minutes of blowing and tissues to make it better. This has been going on for a while but I’m so over it. It was never like this with my other pregnancies.

  • @julybabybear I got those cramps yesterday. Since it had happened to me before in my first tri, I figured it could be an irritation. I drank a glass of water (in case of dehydration), laid on my left side for a while & just took it easy. I'll be avoiding exercise and sex for a couple of days just in case (as my doctor recommended). Last time, I didn't avoid it and stayed active and ended up spotting, which is how I learned about the irritation in the first place. Take it easy and stay hydrated. It's a scary feeling.
  • +1 for soreness and exhaustion! I’m hurting all over. Neck, shoulders, back, hips, tailbone, knees, ankles, feet. And I’m so tired I can barely keep my eyes open by 8am! I’m just waiting on that burst of energy that everyone talks about. I never got one with my DS, so we’ll see if it ever comes.

@LadyJ2949 I’m been having the same issue. My doc said to take Claritin, but that hasn’t helped.
  • Waking up like i got hit by a bus. So sore! I’m guessing it’s from not being able to sleep on my back.
  • I'm so glad to see others are sore... I woke up feeling like I did a huge workout and obviously did not!

I have PUPPS so my symptoms are awful and basically I'm itchy and have a horrible rash that I can't do anything about. Yay pregnancy. It definitely sucks, but it is harmless at least.
  • I'm 21+2 and still feeling pretty good. My boobs are huge and I went from a c to a DD cup. DD bras are still a bit too big but they are heaven right now. Nothing like feeling comfortable at this stage!

I stir a lot more when sleeping. I'm trying not to be paranoid about sleeping on my back but I wake up at least once a night and I'm on my back so I immediately switch. Might be time to get the snoogle!

No good poop in 2 days but I didn't eat a lot of veggies so I'm hoping now that I'm back from Texas that I can go back to my usual diet.

  • Good morning ladies! Add me to the being sore camp! Also I had been feeling really good with good energy levels - until this week (currently 20 + 5) and all I want to do is sleep again!

Yesterday I did have a weird symptom. I woke up in the middle of the night with throbbing pain in my right side radiating to my back. I got up for a little bit and switched positions a few times before finally falling back asleep.

  • Discovered my first stretch mark for this pregnancy. That mirror is too clean i spot it from a distance.
  • @acunamatada feeling you on the rib discomfort!  The other day my doc launched into a big explanation re. sore ribs and I was just like....cool. I'll just add that to the list of things I would have never thought of.

@wildtot I'm really having sore feet as well.  I've felt a lot better since ditching some of my flatter shoes and sticking to ones with good arch support. I've also been rolling my feet on a tennis ball and that's been helping.  Hope you find some relief!!

  • @canucklehead123 i finally complained enough for DH to rub my feet (for like 5 seconds each lol)

  • @wildtot yes yes, there's that strategy as well!!! Lol!

  • @coco305 It's nice not to be the only one.  Thank you for sharing!  I'm holding back on calling the doctor again, even though I want to so bad.  I really just want them to say, "Come in, we'll do a Doppler just to ease your mind."  They didn't say anything about avoiding sex or exercise, but I'm going to do that now that you said it, just in case!
  • @julybabybear I've been having the same thing pretty regularly.  When I brought it up at my appointment on Thursday she said this early it shouldn't be Braxton hicks... but that it could be a uti. I ended up testing negative but it's something you could look into.  I have my anatomy scan scheduled for Friday and she put in a request to have my cervix length checked *just in case*
  • @julybabybear @KatyF0813 i had BHs since 16 wks and my doc said it’s pretty normal to start early the second time around. However with my first i also had them at 16 wks. Mine were pretty frequent regardless of water so i was given medicine to calm them. Eventually i was on preterm labor watch and had NST twice a week. My doctor isn’t as concerned this time around and said since i went full term and as long as my cervix looked fine we won’t do medical,NSTs, or additional scans. At least they are not as frequent this time around but still get a few throughout the day. Drink lot and lots of water!
  • @julybabybear @KatyF0813 i want to add that sometimes it is actually just the baby who is up against one side of my belly and it can be uncomfortable and weird looking.
  • @KatyF0813 Bummed to hear that others are uncomfortable like me, but also, so nice to hear others had it.  The nurse on the phone asked me about burning/pain when I pee, but I don't have any of that.  Maybe she was trying to rule out a UTI?

AGAIN I ASK, why oh why do 2nd tri appointments have to be so far apart.  Like I have to hold out another week til my next app. to feel totally better about this weirdness!

@wildtot Now that you say that about the baby being in a weird spot, I wonder if that could be it.  That makes me feel a bit better!  I felt a lump last night when I was laying on my side, but it went away once I got up.  Pregnancy is the strangest thing ever.

  • LadyJ2949  Count me in on the bloody nose train.  Runs in my family but I’ve gotten a nose bleed once in my entire life and legit every morning- same thing.  I just stick a tissue up there until it stops and then take a shower.

wildtot I saw my first one this morning too :( a nice old purple one, gahhhh I've been so good about putting lotion and oil on...guess its inevitable for some people.

Jealous of all you mama's feeling baby.  I'm 19 weeks and think I feel her moving but I can't be sure.  FTM so I have no idea what to look for or expect.  Can't wait until my U/S next Friday although bittersweet because it's the last time I'll see her till birth

+1 for rib pain. Woke up this morning to what feels like a bruised rib. Do you ladies know if it’s just all the shifting happening inside? Baby isn’t that far up so it can’t be kicking my ribs yet, right?

  • Quick pity party here: my stomach feels like crap again... Like I'm putting myself to bed early so I don't throw up. Blech!

I have noticed that I get this way more often if I don't get enough protein during the day, and water, too. Anyone else? I might go force down some cottage cheese in a minute to see if that helps. I need other protein that isn't dairy tho, and the PB I bought new the other day smells weird to me.

@flockofmoosen3 I am so bad at the protein thing as well! I have turned to protein powder (the one i have now is dairy, but you can get vegan) and stuffing hardboiled eggs in my facehole for snacks instead of carby things (its hard). Hard boiled eggs only have like, 8g so I always feel like I have to eat two.

  • @flockofmoosen3 as much as I hateeeeee this GD diet I've been trying  to follow, I have noticed that since cutting down carbs and upping protein I haven't had any stomach issues. I also struggle with trying to find non dairy sources of protein though. Sometimes I feel like all I eat for snacks is cheese and yogurt, with some peanut butter thrown in. They do make some yummy non dairy yogurts these days...not sure what the protein is like though.
  • @julybabybear It's funny because it feels like the appointments are so far apart and then you hit third tri when they are every other week and then weekly and you forget what it was like to have appointments so far apart! I know how hard it is to be patient but I promise time will start flying by soon. Also, try and remember that less appointments only means great things: you and baby are healthy and there is no need.

@flockofmoosen3 I'm still battling nausea as well. Thankfully its touch and go now rather than consistently like first tri. Your protein idea sounds interesting. I also find that I'm starving and need food immediately, so I keep snacks handy. But I also feel like I have a bottomless pit of a stomach. Like even while I'm eating, I'm hungry. So weird.
  • Seems like the trapped air is in full effect these days. I also tend to feel nauseous if i sleep on my right side (maybe it’s heartburn?).
  • I have all the energy this week. Not sure if it's more nesting instincts kicking in but I feel like taking care of all these projects! If only that applied to work...
