How far along today? How big is baby? 18 weeks, tribble/tall frappacino
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms: eh, not a lot really. Maybe some lower abdomen cramping right above my pubic bone.
Appointments/US this week: No, but anatomy scan is a week from tomorrow! So excited!!
Random Questions
Rants/Raves: Rave and Rant: I'm eating ALL OF THE THINGS which is lovely on one hand, but on the other hand now i have to pay more attention to what goes in my mouth hole. So when I am desperately wanting to snack I try to eat something healthy but sometimes I fail.
Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? I've never been and won't take one this time around either. Although, I guess we were talking about taking DS to the beach this year (there is one in NH that is close) so maybe we'll do that for a couple days before Baby X gets here.
How far along today? How big is baby? 21 weeks. Dragon egg apparently. New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Acne is back. It was nice while it went away for a couple weeks. And constipation is the worst thing in the world. Oh, and apparently avocado now gives me heartburn! WTF. I practically live on those! Appointments/US this week Was supposed to have one yesterday, but it was rescheduled because of the weather, so now not until next week! Random Questions Trying to figure out the best way to prepare my dogs for the new housemate. So far we've been leaving some of the bigger baby items about like the stroller so they can get used to those things. They've always been good with babies and little kids, my beagle shepherd will probably be the kind of dog that wants to be in the crib with baby, but my heeler is a noisy boy and doesn't share me very well, so I'm trying to figure out how to help get him ready. Other than bringing a blanket home with baby's smell on it first, any other fur parents have any tips out there? My fur babies are both 11, so we're in a situation of teaching old dogs new tricks. Rants/Raves I've had some lower abdominal pain, not cramping really, just straight up pain on both sides. I've had really bad constipation and have done all the things to try to ease it (high fiber diet, gallon of water a day, squatty potty, colace, exercise, etc), so I think the pain is from the constipation and so do the nurses. But it really sucks! Sometimes I can't even walk. Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? We're not taking one. We'll probably go to the coast in March for our anniversary for a couple days, but we're both hoarding all our PTO time to be able to have as much pay during leave as possible.
How far along today? How big is baby? 20 weeks!! banana, ear of corn, paper airplane
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms? Swelling feet showed up this week. nothing im concerned about but its here, love desk jobs...
Appointments/US this week, none this week. Check up on the 13th and detailed Anatomy Scan on the 19th of march
Random Questions: None today...
Rants/Raves: Rave Hubbs been really stepping up this week
Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? No we wont be taking a babymoon, we didn't with our first, heck we didn't even take a honeymoon yet and have been married almost 3 years lol. If we could probably Ireland.
I’m not having too many symptoms still. I do still dry heave a lot. I’m still sleeping on my tummy as that is the only way I can sleep. Starting to get heartburn every once in a while. It was bad with my first. So not unexpected.
No appointments this week. I have my next appointment and anatomical scan for March.
Rants/raves: I need more maternity shirts. Why oh why did Motherhood Maternity decide to put flesh colored belly band with grey pants?? Oh and I’m really starting to freak out about the daycare situation.
Babymoon: we have never done it and won’t this time either. We do want to take our older daughter somewhere fun before the baby comes since we didn’t get to do anything fun last summer.
How far along today? How big is baby? 21 weeks! Endive, whatever that is. Looks like cabbage and romaine hearts made a baby
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Fatigue creeping up again, and heartburn.. Bring on the tums!
Appointments/US this week Nothing for a few weeks
Random Questions
Rants/Raves Must buy more maternity clothes! I went through some of my older clothes from a couple of summers ago and it’s all so blah. Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? We have a 3/4 day conference in Florida near Disney in April, so that will somewhat double as a baby moon. I’d prefer to go somewhere international and tropical and peaceful, but time, and money lol. We went to Costa Rica and Australia in 2017 so that will have to hold us over until LO is bigger.
How far along today? How big is baby? 21 weeks. I like your answer @noideawhatshesdoing - a dragon egg!
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms I have a SCH that has decided not to reabsorb/shrink. At my MFM appointment, the dr put me on progesterone suppositories. Since then, my bleeding has slowed down A LOT. I don't know if it's because of the progesterone, but I am gladly accepting this new "symptom."
Appointments/US this week I had my first MFM appointment this week. It was fine. Saw the baby's heartbeat which is always nice.
Random Questions @noideawhatshesdoing - we did the whole show her the stroller, etc. and my husband took home a hat the day before we went home from the hospital. She was 5 when we had our first one. She just wanted to smell him and then she pretty much left him alone after that. Did her own thing.
Rants/Raves My husband has been absolutely amazing through this pregnancy. Better than I have some day.
Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? We're not taking one this round. With our second one, we went to Hawaii for a wedding which we counted as our babymoon. I wish we were taking one!
@kc1293 We'll let the dogs sniff a hat or blanket, and since they like kids I'm not too worried, they've been ok when we've had friends with babies stay with us, but the one is just so vocal. We'll figure something out! Also, re: the dragon egg, I really don't like comparing my human baby with a food item, creeps me out for some reason! So I've been using the geeky setting on baby sizer, some things are really abstract, but it's entertaining to me.
How far along today? How big is baby? About 19 weeks (or more)
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms same ol' shit--but less vomiting which is nice.
Appointments/US this week YES!! anatomy scan tomorrow and I'm so nervous! I'm nervous every time.
Random Questions will I be able to travel cross-country to my brother's high school graduation?? He wants me to go but it's June 8...and I suspect that will be too close, but I don't know for sure. Also, what restaurants are fun and pregnancy safe while in New Orleans? I'm going for a conference soon, BY MYSELF!
Rants/Raves I think i've gone from not eating enough to eating too much. With less nausea I'm getting hungrier instead. Also, someone said today she thought I was getting really fat really fast until I said I was pregnant. Fortunately for her, I like her and she wasn't trying to be mean, and we both laughed about it. I did get annoyed later when a male colleague said my co-worker and I were good at eavesdropping in our OPEN office suite because we're genetically predisposed because we're women. WTF dude. I nicely corrected him.
Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? For DD1 we had a family reunion in a cool place, and for DS we joined his family on a trip to the beach. For DD2...I'm going to NO by myself soon so I'm going to count that. None of these trips have been specifically a baby moon--I just happened to be pregnant by time the trip arrived. We're not going to spend money on a vacation JUST because I'm pregnant--girl please! We need that $$ for real needs (and investments).
@noideawhatshesdoing My husband brought home a blanket used by DD1 for the dog to sleep with prior to us leaving the hospital. My co-worker who works with dogs in her spare time has also suggested bringing a dirty diaper home, but we found the blanket worked just fine lol!
@flockofmoosen3 I'm laughing so hard at the dirty diaper. One of our dogs didn't like that our friend's kid was crying so he jumped up to quiet her (she was being held by her dad) and got a face full of really dirty diaper. He ran away and hasn't done that since.
How far along today? How big is baby? 21 weeks! New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Terrible heartburn, SPD getting worse. Otherwise nothing too terrible Appointments/US this week Had our second anatomy scan today. Both babies looks great-just under a pound each which is NUTS Random Questions Anyone have any experience with SPD? Any way to get some relief or be able to take more than a few steps without pain would be great... Rants/Raves First stretch mark appeared today having twins is going to be super rough on me as we get into the second half of pregnancy- I can tell. Will you take a babymoon? Have you ever? If you could go anywhere, where would you go and why? Nah I mean I really don’t like the term “baby moon” it feels really...Pinteresty plus I don’t really want to take time off of work before I go on maternity leave, I feel like that’s a bad look. Plus also-I’m not sure I’d be able to enjoy it with my limited mobility and I’d be too nervous to be far away from my doctors. We’re planning to go back to the little island where we got married for our 2019 anniversary which will be right around when the babies turn 1 so that will have to suffice
@devilcat139 I think there was a conversation about SPD in either the symptoms or questions thread for this week, and someone posted a cool little chart of different stretches that might help. Not experienced it myself yet, but I hope you get some relief!
