TTGP Grad Check-in 2/15/18

How's everyone doing?

Is it useful to still have the prompts or should we just check in and chat?

Re: TTGP Grad Check-in 2/15/18

  • I'm lame and like prompts. Otherwise I end up rambling about nonsense.

I've been happy to see you posting more! How are you feeling?

I've been doing well. We ended up not being able to do the NIPT testing which is frustrating but I guess I can wait till the anatomy scan like most people. My nausea is definitely better this week *knocks on wood* and I've had a bit more energy. The house is starting to look like civilized people live here again which is nice.

  • @SkilledSailor I was starting to wonder if no one cared about this check in anymore!

I'm still feeling equally sick but I think after our last good ultrasound at the RE I'm starting to feel more confident about the pregnancy and therefore more comfortable posting here. Glad you are starting to feel better!

Since we did pgs with our ivf, we are planning to skip the nipt, etc., and wait for the anatomy scan. Since the pgs showed normal chromosomes, any questionable result from nipt would just be crazy stressful and we would rather wait for the anatomy scan.

  • @SkilledSailor  why couldnt you do nipt?

@adirat we didn't have PGS, so we suppose I am reluctantly agreeing to it, bc 1. It's covered 2. I'm sure it will be fine 3. More peace of mind when it does come back fine.  But I am mostly nervous about some dope letting the sex slip on the report somehow  :#  since we are Team Green.  So nice to see you posting, though! ❤
  • @businesswife I totally understand -- if I were team green it would make me nervous too!

The cost was definitely a factor. Not covered for my age and we just spent thousands of dollars for the pgs/pgd (also not covered) so we gotta put our faith in that.

  • @adirat That makes sense. I feel like the NIPT would check anything PGS didn't.

@businesswife H had thought that since he gets free blood work through his job that the NIPT would be covered. It is not and insurance doesn't cover it. We decided since we're different ethnicities the odds of us both being carriers for the same chromosomal disorder would be low so it wasn't worth the OOP expense. I was totally down for it when I thought it would be free though.
  • @SkilledSailor. Yeah, that makes sense.  We had our genetic testing so we already know we are not carrying anything they test for... I guess about the only thing it would screen for potentially I guess would be trisomies?

I have old lady eggs, so it's covered.  Otherwise we might not bother, either.
