Regarding Zika, many places have come off the CDC active list. We plan on going to Grand Cayman in March and my midwife is fine with it as long as it stays off the list and I wear bug spray.
@cornichonmam the recommendations in the UK are different because a different panel of experts looked at the EXACT SAME research and just made slightly different conclusions based on that. It's not that the food is actually different. So just follow whatever recommendations you're already following, and you'll be fine.
The Bahamas has come off the Zika list so we booked our 1 year anniversary/ babymoon trip there in April. I am so excited for some warm weather. We will be swimming with the pigs since apparently swimming with dolphins is not allowed while pregnant...who knew

I wonder if that's because dolphins have sonar/echolocation ability, and they don't want them to "buzz" baby? Funny thing is, I've read that dolphins "know" when you're pregnant because of this-they can check out baby.
Sorry, I'm big on useless info. Shame to miss out on it though, I've done it twice.

@AdmiralKitty Don't be sorry. I am so glad you mentioned Zika. It so far from my mind and I wouldn't want to go there knowing the risk. We did cancel and get a vacation credit. We moved our Disney trip up to March instead of November, so looks like we're Florida bound. Now, if you tell me something is wrong with Disney and pregnant women, I might cry - hahah.
@pourmeamocktail Haha you are right. They said they can tell you are pregnant. I wonder if the sonar is bad for the baby or if the dolphins would try to attack. Either way they say pregnant women aren’t allowed in the water with them lol And useless info usually makes for strong trivia
@ashh2018 Haha yeah and the little ones are so cute. I’m pretty excited for it!!! Will have to post a pic
@carolina422 when we were looking into a baby moon with our first our travel agent said not to swim with dolphins because they can sense the second heartbeat and it confuses them and sometimes causes them to become aggressive? Crazy
Ours is a little different. We wanted to take DD5 on a family trip before baby comes along. We had to cancel our Disney cruise because of Zika so we are doing Disneyland in April. I’m so excited for the yummy food!
Living vicariously through all these vaca plans! Lots of fun trips! My last pregnancy we did a babymoon in Kauai and that was a blast. I'd love to go back but I don't think we could leave our one year old for that long.. I am hoping DH and I can do a weekend away or maybe even a little trip with DS this summer but nothing is planned yet

@AdmiralKitty we just got back from Cancun 2 weeks ago. My OB was not super excited about us going but told us to wear bug spray, don't go in the jungle and have fun.
Late to the game but we just booked our baby moon! We’re gonna road trip from Austin to Fort Walton Beach FL, spend a few days there and then spend a couple days in New Orleans on the way back. I’ve never been to either, so I’m really excited! My husband is kinda worried since our return date is only 4 weeks from my due date but I’m feeling good about it. Lazy river here I come!
@BostonBaby1 I can’t wait to get back to Maine next summer. BFF has a house there and it is always such a relaxing and wonderful time. (minus the millions of hours it takes to get there from California)
@BostonBaby1 we went to maine for our babymoon before DS was born. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to go back and take my kids when they’re old enough
@BostonBaby1 where abouts in Maine did you stay? Or recommend? We are actually heading towards Portland Maine this week on our way to Nova Scotia. We are travelling I95. Trying to nail down a spot to stay.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I don’t get notifications to my telephone. We were just outside of Ogunquit by the cliffs.
Did Hawaii when i was 5 months pregnant - it was nice, not too much on my body and didn't swell when flying or walking around. i am even considering taking a weekend away for the two of us before little man gets here.
Our "babymoon" is just a day trip to the states (we are in Canada) to do some shopping at Target. You guys have so much stuff we don't here! I am trying to get MIL to watch DD, but she is preparing to move soon. I hope she can have her cause a drive down to the states will be no fun with a 2 year old, plus I want to spend alone time with DH before baby girl comes.
