FTM here. I've sat in a couple gliders and found that this one is the most comfy. Not sure if I should look for something wider. I would love a recliner, but the nursery is already. Tight space.

Also, not sure if it's the hormones, but too much gliding makes me dizzy and nauseous. Anyone else??

FTM and looking to read the responses! This is the one piece of furniture I’m stumped on and can not make up my mind!

We have this one from Amazon (but I know they show the same one or similar on Joss & Main) I like it but my only complain is that the back isn't high enough. I'm 5ft7 and it's a little uncomfortable unless I put a pillow behind my back.

Other than that, I really like it! I just need to get an ottoman to go with it.

My MIL refurbished a wooden rocking chair for when DS was born. It was her moms. We still use it but not super comfy sometimes. We would love a glider in our room and we are checking out prices but my look for a nice used one since they look expensive.

I have this too! Mine came damaged the first time, but they sent a replacement really quickly. 
I don’t think it’s super comfortable but it gets the job done!

I bought a cheap one with my first and really regretted it! If I had known just how much time I would spend in that chair, I would have splurged some

This is so interesting, apparently I am the only one that never used our glider. We have a comfy cute one and I think I nursed DD in it once. Now we occasionally curl up in it and read but mostly now DD just climbs and jumps on it. Also, the cat likes to sleep in it. I'd get rid of it but it was a baby gift my grandma got for us so I feel bad.

I definitely want a glider but I don't want/need to spend $$$ on a pottery barn one...I found this one and it seems pretty good. I'm looking to spend around $350-$400 and need something that's not too wide.

Too lazy to copy/paste the format. 

We got a LaZBoy rocker/recliner. Zero regrets. I used that thing for every single motn feed with my boys plus motn pumping sessions. It wasn’t cheap but it’s so comfortable, 100% worth it. I was able to fit myself and both twins in the chair for night feedings until they were pretty big, then I did one in a bouncer next to me and one on my lap.

I was just gifted this ottoman and glider set. 
It is a hand-me-down from my sil and brother. It is EXTREMELY comfy. I cannot wait to use it with the baby.

I’m a 4x Mom and have never owned a glider. I’ve always used our lazy boy in the living room. This time around I want a glider in the nursery so I’m definitely following this thread! Keep em coming ladies!

Here is another FTM question...how long do you use this glider? Are y’all getting use out of it last the first year?

@and486 I work from home and will share my office with the babe. I figured I want something that fully reclines so I can potentially take a nap over my lunch break once I have a babysitter around and still be in the same room...ftm naiveness??lol

@And846 I still use mine, I sit in it while DS falls asleep lol. Also when DS plays in his room but wants company. As an actual glider function, I BFd in it daily until he weaned at 2. We’ll worth it IMO, although there are ways around it of course. I wish I had the space for a lazy boy or big smooshy chair in DS’s room!

Oh and also maybe on those nights when the baby is sick I see myself sleeping in the recliner to give DH a break or vice versa...

@And846 We still use our glider every single night, sometimes for naps, to read books, and sometimes in the morning. So we've gotten a ton of use and it's been a great investment for us. 

I'm currently debating between getting a second glider for the new baby or just moving ours to the new nursery and cutting my son off from being rocked (he's 17 months). That would mean weaning him from being nursed to sleep every night. We shall see what happens.

Anyway, we have a Dutalier and love it. It's comfy, fits well in our tiny house, and really good quality. Link attached.

@And846 my son is 2.5 and we still snuggle in it and read every night before bed and also before naptime! We have a second one for the new babe so I don't have to go back and forth.

@And846 DD is 2.5 and we still use ours daily, definitely not as much as the first year though. Mostly at night when reading books and saying prayers...30 min or so per day.  But we spent A LOT of time in it that first year.

We got our glider and ottoman set from BRU, but I can’t for the life of me find it online.  Maybe it’s been discontinued?  

Anyways, one recommendation I did want to share:  try to find one that locks.  We just happened to pick one that had a locking feature (a handle on the side that you pull up to keep the chair in place).  After my unplanned csection, I wouldn’t have been able to get out of the chair alone for weeks if it hadn’t been for the lock.  I also used it a lot for trying to get up smoothly once DD had fallen asleep and I was trying to get her to her crib without waking her.

@And846 I still rock my boys (16m) in our rocker any time they’re having trouble sleeping or are sick.

I may be the only one who went with a big ol' wide wooden rocking chair. I throw blankets on it and a stool for my feet, but since it's so wide I can lean back, put up one leg to help support baby while nursing. It's comfortable for having no cushions, but not so comfortable that I risk falling asleep while nursing baby and dropping them one the floor. (Something I almost did while sitting in bed and nursing one night!) We still use the chair for bed time snuggles.
