DH and I went bowling last night. (5 pin!) And I am proud to admit that this drama geek who is 22 w, beat the high school athlete in all 3 games!!! trying not to gloat...
It was a wonderful Parents Night Out , organized by our local neighborhood association. We got to meet more neighbours (we moved in July) and learned about all the awesome activities offered. So social and so fun. I am on a bit of a happiness high, and frankly a tad sore.
Mama to a wonderful DD - Sep 2015, Wife to my DH since 2011, 2 dogs, a cat, and hoping to add No. 2 in May/June 2018. Canadian. 5 - IUIs, 3 - IVF retrievals, 2- failed transfers (fresh, and frozen), PGS on second IVF resulted in 1 perfect emby, and DD. 3rd IVF w PGS resulted in 3! perfect embys. 1st transfer - Sep 2017 2 more on ice.
I still read young adult books (fantasy and contemporary). I’ll be 29 next month. They’re just more of an escape for me than books about real adults and real things.
DD and I are driving down to my parents for the weekend because DH has his annual guys trip. I'm excited for him to go away for a weekend and be able to sleep in my parents super comfy guest bed all alone. And also for DD to have someone else to entertain her for a few days. I love him dearly but sometimes it's nice to miss him once in awhile!
@MoonOverGoldsboro@l2589 I totally agree on the YA lit. My mom was a K-12 school librarian for many years and always sent great new YA my way. Now she just does K-5 so DD has a full bookshelf of kids books
I have taken 4 sick days out of the last six.... and I don't feel even a little bit bad about it. I've felt like death & it's use it or lose it soooo.....
@l2589 I'm into books, tv shows, and music that are all way too young for my old behind. I agree though, with the books and tv....all about escaping that adulthood for a while.
@aharv77 my DH is gone every month for about two weeks, and while I miss him and the kids miss him, I also secretly love it. I watch tons of chick flicks, sleep with the tv on and eat food without him silently judging me lol
As an anniversary gift back in August (I was feeling really guilty about being unemployed for so long and essentially getting DH nothing for Vday '17, his bday '17, and Christmas '16) so I gave him a card with the down payment for his 10 yr frat reunion trip (April 2018) and a check to cover the remaining balance due on Thursday (the 15th). Ugh I'm really regretting this gift right now. I know I know no taksies backsies. BUT ugh, why did I think paying for the entire trip was a good idea.... why didn't I just give him the downpayment! I hate myself right now, and my budget hates me too.
Re: FFFC - 2/9
Dusted that bad boy off and ate it anyway.
