@wildtot I follow crazyjewishmom on Instagram. It's this girl who started posting all the texts between her and her mom. They are pretty hilarious. She even made them into a book.
@supersara2 I did! I'm using kegel trainer-exercises (Google play name). I like this one the most because it literally tells you when to squeeze and when to rest. It goes by levels, getting more intense with squeezes as you go. I have the free version and it's working pretty well.
Quick question: I noticed my prenatal yoga videos have moved from tightening the pelvic floor to "opening" it. As I choose the third trimester videos and the "ready for labor" videos, it seems like its all about relaxing your pelvic floor during breathing. Anyone else doing exercises specific to labor readiness/hip opening and notice that?
@SmashJam you want to make sure you fully relax you pf after kegels /any tightening exercises. A pf that's too tight is not good, one of the therapists that came to one of my yoga classes described an exercise as "picking up a small marble with your vagina, lifting it up a bit, and then slowly releasing it". I know the visual is weird but she basically says you also need to work on fully releasing versus just squeeze in and tighten. I hope this makes sense!
Now is a good time to start kegels if you haven’t been doing them regularly!!! They can help prevent tearing, help you push baby out during labor, and prevent incontinance after birth.
