I started out annoyed that 38 people had responded to this and then I was like wait, no way its not everyone making fun of her and I AM NOT MISSING OUT AGAIN.
THank you for not disappointing with GIFS and pics, y'all.
@gspmom21 me too! And also, this one (while filled with hilarious gifs) also makes me a little sad because I feel like this is a really awesome group and OP is going to miss out.
@lindsayleigh1989 She posted on the name thread at 2am lol... but seriously it bugs me that the randos pop in and just find whatever threads THEY want to be apart of. Like if they’re looking at threads to be apart of, how do they miss the ‘Read this first’ one
Omg you guys. I missed all this but it made my night. I’m not the best at making new friends but this is probably the worst attempt I’ve seen in a while.
@noideawhatshesdoing Yep!! I'm married to a man who holds the opposite political views from me. And we manage to get along just fine and worked really hard to make this baby together.
OP, The key is to talk about other stuff and focus on the things you DO have in common. Although, actually it's sometimes nice to talk about political issues with people who don't share your views - it challenges your ideas and makes you learn about other people's perspectives.
This. DH and I aren’t polar opposites but we’re definitely opposite sides of center. I love having real honest discussions about politics with someone who disagrees with me. Sometimes he has good points that makes me reconsider, sometimes I do. And sometimes we just agree to disagree. And yet still a happy, healthy marriage and family. It’s amazing the differences that can be overcome with a little respect.
