Pinkish-red spotting 5 weeks

I just discovered that I'm having a light amount of pinkish-red-mucousy spotting. I've read that this is normal, but I've been pregnant twice & never had any bleeding. I have a dull achy feeling in my cervix, not really any cramping. Does anyone have any experience with this?

  • I always call my midwife. They can do HGC levels.

  • That's basically exactly what I had from 3w3d until 3w6d. My progrestone was low and my OB prescribed a supplement. Have you had your progesterone checked since your BFP?

  • Thanks everyone - the wait until the first US is so nerve wracking! :(

@pebbledam that could definitely be the cause; I have PCOS & I know that low progesterone can be a side effect. Did your bleeding resolve after the progesterone supplement?
  • @kate-expectations - The spotting was almost completely gone by the time I started using the supplements, but I haven't had any spotting since. I would call and ask them to do a quick blood draw to check it. I would classify my dx as "soft" PCOS since I had most, but not all of the symptoms. My progesterone was only 6.2 at 12 DPO. They are retesting it on Thursday to make sure the added progesterone is helping (which I think it is).
