How did this week go for you? Great! I met my goal of closing all my rings every day for the month of January.
How are you feeling about your exercise? Really good. I am back in a routine. Since last Friday, I have walked 4 times and done yoga 4 times. And my running buddy is back from her work trip, so we are going for a long walk tomorrow morning!
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? Completing my first full marathon. It was hard work and totally worth it and I'm proud to be in the 1% of the people in the world who have completed a full.
Ok. No serious workouts, but lots is squats and have been using my exercise bands when my toddler is playing
How are you feeling about your exercise?
Better than last week. I am more motivated now that I am getting over a cold and plan to go to the gym twice this weekend during nap time while dh is home. I wish I had more options for working out at home (I am dying for a peloton ir flywheel bike, but don’t think I can justify the cost or space in my nyc apartment)
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? @mileswithmyles same here! I did a marathon (a veeeery long time ago), but am still so proud of it. It is my dream to do another one and complete an Ironman one day. Maybe I will set a goal for a certain numbers of years post childbirth to do both of those a so I can get a game plan down
@mileswithmyles yay that's awesome on the watch ring closes for 31 days straight. I feel like January is especially hard to stay motivated (post-holidays, meh weather). Also, I'm glad your "RBF" is back!
@dem068a I'd love to do a half Iron Man one day. I don't think there is any way I can do a full Iron Man...
How far along?

How did this week go for you?
Okay. 1.5 mile run with squats on Monday, barre x5, prenatal yoga x2, aqua aerobics 1x.
How are you feeling about your exercise?
I wish I could get myself to run at least twice a week, but meh. I brought one of those exercise balls upstairs to try to encourage myself to sit on it instead of the couch, but that also isn't going great. My willpower is weak lately.
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? My olympic distance triathlon. I'd love to have completed a marathon like you two ladies, but so far my IT band has been preventing me from getting past 16/17 miles. (Well actually lately I can't get past two miles without my IT band hurting...yay pregnancy. But when training for the marathon, I could only get up to 16ish before my knee cr4pped out. Hopefully I can find better physical therapy in the future and someday do a marathon.)
@mileswithmyles thanks! I tried a chiropractor but I think I went too late (only had like a month before the marathon by the time I went to him). Also thinking I might need to try a new chiropractor. He was doing ART (active release technique) and I'm not sure if that was helping me. Do you remember what your chiropractor did? Maybe I should find one that focuses on alignments.
But that is good to know that you were able to do a marathon even though you had IT band issues. That gives me hope. I failed marathon training twice because of it.
@silverhope he would adjust my hips. Basically, I would lie on my back and he would cross one of my legs over the other and push down on my hips to crack them back into place. My problem was coming from them sitting out of alignment with one hip about an inch higher than the other He also gave me IT band exercises to do each day at home, like hip hikes and hip abductors to strengthen the muscles.
@mileswithmyles thank you so much. This gives me hope that someday I can find a good chiropractor and fix my IT issues. I think I probably just didn't pick the right chiropractor and physical therapist (and also didn't go long enough).
@mileswithmyles funny enough I don’t really love cycling either (but I love a 45 min spin class). The idea of going bike riding outdoors for hours doesn’t really do it for me though, but since I do like running (or at least use to before babies), and was a swimmer my whole life, so I am hoping I can deal with the bike training enough to make it through that part! At this point I probably can barely run more and across the street though, so I have a ways to go no matter what!
How did this week go for you? Slow! My runs are so much slower over the last few weeks.
How are you feeling about your exercise?
Worried bc I signed up for a 15k this Sunday before I knew about lo. I’m not sure I’m up for that. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done that distance. I’m just going to go slow and stop if I feel bad at all.
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? My first marathon for sure!! I didn’t even want to run one when I first started running, but the Running group I started with was all training for marathons.
@mileswithmyles I’m so bad at cycling and swimming. Not sure I could ever get into tris at all. They sound fun.. in theory. @silverhope sounds like you are doing amazing!! Way to work around it issues.
You marathon ladies impress me! I don’t run, have never liked it, and my knees wouldn’t allow for it anyway. I just cheer from the sidelines!
How far along? 27+4
How did this week go for you?Good, I went every day except Thursday because I got another freaking UTI.
How are you feeling about your exercise? I feel like I have to modify more and more every day. Yesterday I ended up having to do squats or wall sits half the class because so much of it needed modifying. This belly is definitely taking over!
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? Losing 35 lbs and getting into the best shape of my adult life last year. I have gained every lb of it back already but I know now that I can get back to where I was before. I just have to be careful postpartum because I packed on a lot of weight last time sitting around nursing and eating ravenously in those first few months.
Excited! I finished my 15k today that I’ve been worried about. I haven’t done that distance in awhile and it was stressing me. It ended up rainy and in the 30s but not as bad as I was worrying about. Spending a lazy day now!!
How did this week go for you? I did pretty well making myself not take shortcuts and I started up with yoga again. DS loves yoga so he's helping make sure we do it in the mornings and evenings. And he never forgets.
How are you feeling about your exercise? I definitely feel the lack of endurance, but I know it'll get better.
GTKY: What is your proudest fitness or health achievement? Lately, it's been cutting out fast food. That was a pretty big deal for us. I've been cooking healthier meals, too.

@silverhope Thanks! IT band issues are the worst. It helped me to get regular chiropractic care when I was training to get over that hump.
