GTKY: What irrational fear do you have?

How far along are you? 14w 5d

How are you feeling? Pretty good. Finally tired because I was up late the other night, not just because baby is making me that way.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Nothing til the 21st. I think that one I get the blood draw to check for spina bifida.

Rants/Raves? Rant - Hubby isn't home from Monday - Thursday this week. I love my me time but I miss the man. Rave - Tomorrow is Friday and he is home!!

Questions? 

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? I'm 30 years old and I still hate the dark in general. Also, I have to close my closet doors before I go to bed....

How far along are you? 13w 6d

How are you feeling? Great, besides getting ANOTHER cold. So sick of being sick. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Next appt is a consult at mfm to make sure diabetes is controlled...it isnt fully right now so i can pretty much guarantee insulin will be coming but its not surprising since I was on it with my last 2. 

Rants/Raves? It is so nice to be able to feel happy about this baby now that i dont have to worry.

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? Spiders. Lol. I freeze when i see one and call for my husband to kill it. Lol so lame i know.

How far along are you?15+3

How are you feeling? Still tired. Also can’t shake this cough so wondering if I need to go get some antibiotics now. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Some blood work next week. Apart from that I’m waiting impatiently for anatomy scan on the 27th.

Rants/Raves? DH and I told both our workplaces and some extended family this week so it’s nice not to have to hide so much at work anymore. Rant: My dad and I are somewhat estranged. He hates my husband and refused to attend our wedding. We don’t really talk on the phone but I messaged him to tell him yesterday and his response was ‘great, all the best’. I’m guessing he has no interest in being part of our child’s life either and that hurts a little. 

Questions? Did anyone’s bump get a little smaller around this time? I swear it was bigger a few days ago but maye there was just some bloat behind it that’s getting better now?

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? Most creepy crawlers like lizards, worms, snakes. And of course I love warm weather so I always live in places that have plenty of them.

@safire3 I feel like mine changes day to day. Usually dependent if I have a big poo or not.

How far along are you? 14w6d

How are you feeling? Pretty good!  After being sick last week and finally being in 2nd tri things seem to be much better.  I think my morning sickness is gone because I haven't had any nausea for a week and haven't taken unisom+B6 in the same amount of time.  And I'm not as tired!  Doesn't feel like a surge of energy but I'm not exhausted either.  Yay!

Any recent/upcoming appointments?  Next Tuesday, 2/6.  Just a regular office appt with my MFM.  I think I will schedule my anatomy scan for early March.

Rants/Raves?  I think I might be feeling the baby!  It's so exciting and never gets old.  The tech thought I might have an anterior placenta at my NT scan so I've been second guessing any little flutters I've felt but I'm pretty sure I'm feeling movement today.

Questions?  None.

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have?  Probably stepping on/squishing spiders or bugs.  I don't totally freak out if I see a spider but I always have to call my husband to kill it.  I cannot stand the sound/feeling of killing a bug.  Creeps me out!  It's so bad that I saw a disgusting spider in our house one morning before work and DH was gone so I found some cleaning spray and sprayed it to death lol.  Random: we got a cat last Christmas and he loves hunting and killing bugs.  I haven't seen a spider in our house in a really long time.  So, bonus!

@nimmle I still hate the dark.  If I have to go into the garage to take out a trash bag I run out of there like someone is in there waiting to murder me lol.
@busymommy23 I know it sucks to deal with insulin but I always felt so much better knowing my sugar was well controlled with it!
@safire3 I'm sorry about your dad's response.  I would be hurt as well.

How are you feeling? Pretty good! Good amount of energy but still haven’t made it to gym or yoga. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Today! Checked in for visit and told staff to not mention the gender as DH and I are doing are reveal tomorrow night. During our peek at babe on the mini u/s we saw the head, brain, arms and legs...and the angle in which the shot was given i sweat it is now girl. I’ve been team boy the entire time, but now I’m 50/50. Can you even make out gender parts at nearly 15 weeks?

Rants/Raves? I’m telling work tomorrow so I’m excited to let that cat out of the bag and DH and are are going to a nice dinner tomorrow and coming home for our gender cake cutting! 

Questions? Same as above...gender.

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? Driving in whiteout Florida rain. You know the kind where you can’t see past your hood. Never an issue before, but 3 years ago i was driving on the interstate in a storm like that and cars were crashing and hydroplaned all over the road.

How far along are you? 15 weeks today!

How are you feeling? Anxiety about life and my performance as a general human being and mom is through the roof today, and more often through the roof than it has been. I am very aware that I am being crazy but I sometimes hate that I don't have one of those husbands that is very capable of talking about my feelings. Like, I am sure he cares, but I was trying to vent to him and not cry and he was just like, um...sounds like you are being crazy. YES I KNOW. Now he's back to computering. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Mar 2. So not really, lol.

Rants/Raves? My cloth diapers are too small for DS. So I am gonna have to go with regular diapers for the next several months until he's potty trained. We are on such a strict budget so the idea that I have to carve out our damn grocery budget for diapers is super annoying.

Questions? No. 

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? Currently, people secretly disliking me. It used to be spiders but I saw that spider meme where the spider is like, "Oh you're bringing me the newspaper? How nice...OR YOU COULD JUST KILL MY WIFE." And now I feel bad for killing spiders so I just let them run around or take them outside.

@safire3 so sorry about the response from your dad, that’s so upsetting to get back. I also feel like you with the deflating bump. I think it’s the initial bloat that has resolved.

@Sarafuss thats so exciting if you think you are starting to feel baby. What does it feel like?

@SmashJam ugh so sorry about the diaper situation. Have you thought of moving up potty training? With feelings and crap, sometimes i write how i feel or what i need down for my DH to read; sometimes it takes the emotions/reactions out and presents just facts and tends to help.

How are you feeling? Mostly good! Crazy dreams lately have me waking up tired...

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan in 3 weeks! Excited to see our babe and find out the sex!

Rants/Raves? Just so excited for our week in Florida. So ready for Sun and warmth and relaxing! Still haven't definitely felt baby move.. anything I feel i still think is gas.. and everyone says when I feel it I'll know...

GTKY: What irrational fear do you have? Becoming a widow/ single- mom.

@MrsMiller8588 wjat part of Florida will you be visiting? The weather has been wonderful!!

@And846 we are potty training, this is just at night and during naptime. So really, its not going to be that expensive. Oh, man, was I down yesterday, lol.

@And846 I think the earliest you can tell is 14 weeks so it's entirely possible. However, that early it's usually easier to tell if it's a boy than if it's a girl. You schedule your anatomy scan?

@And846 I think is definitely possible to be able to tell at this point.  At 15 weeks with my last pregnancy they could tell right away that it was a boy.  So if you didn’t see anything between the legs I’d say it’s a good chance it’s a girl.  At 15 weeks there really isn’t a “nub” left for girls and you see the three lines of you are looking between the legs.

@SmashJam my husband can be the same way and it’s frustrating.  He always wants to just “fix” the problem and I’m like you can’t just tell me I’m doing great and it will be okay?!  But that never occurs to him.  My main love language is words of affirmation and that’s the thing he’s worst at giving out.

@MrsMiller8588 are you going soon?  We are going to Disney in April and I can’t wait!  I’m dying to get away from this cold weather.

@And846 I’m the worst at trying to explain what movements feel like!  I usually say flutters but I hated when people told me that when I was a FTM because I didn’t know what that really meant lol.  I also think it kind of feels like air bubbles.  Sometimes it actually is gas so I think that’s why it’s so hard to tell early on!

Realizing my new normal is that any time my relatives see me they will feel the need to touch my stomach. lol
