DH set off the smoke detector trying to make his own breakfast (face palm) and woke me up at 6:30am. Weather permitting I’ll go on a hike at our nearby trail today. Tomorrow my pole sisters are having a potluck. I’m so excited to see everyone. I haven’t taught or trained since the day before my BFP so I haven’t seen anyone in months.
Good morning ladies!! I've been so absent lately and I'm hoping it changes soon! We've been short at work so I finish my work day and then sit at my home PC just to try and keep up and it's making for some 10hr days. DD had the stomach bug this week so that sucked. It's supposed to be "warm" in NEPA today so hopefully we can get outside and get some fresh air!
I’m having a mixed bag of a morning. Possible TW in the spoiler.
My best friend’s 4yo had surgery on her adenoids on Thursday. I was supposed to keep her this morning while her mom and dad handled grown up stuff. But she woke up not feeling well and had blood come up from her throat and loose stools. Then they found blood in her stool. So they are all going to the ER. I feel so bad bc there isn’t really anything I can do to help.
On a a happier note, before all that happened MH and I were talking about travels before my restriction starts at 25 weeks. I asked if we could go to Ben & Jerry’s in Vermont for a baby moon. If that is wrong, I don’t want to be right, y’all!
Sitting here for my last hour of my 3hr glucose. I've only had a tired feeling but this hour is an internal jittery and weird feeling. Can't fully explain it. My only hope is that means my levels are super low cause I need to eat, and maybe I'll pass this shit!! But this needs to hurry, uuuugh.

I hope your friend's LO starts to get better and it's nothing too serious! I'll keep them/her in my T&Ps
I told H that I kind of want to go on a baby moon. Right now it's just too cold for either of us to enjoy anything in the area, he won't fly, and I don't want to drive to visit friends/family in warmer states right now. I'm thinking it would be fun to plan a fishing trip to visit our friend in NJ when flounder season opens (March). It'd be fun to plan it so we could go to Cape Hatteras one weekend as well. He used to vacation there as a kid, and we've wanted to go for a while.
DD got a stomach bug starting at 11:30 last night. She couldn’t even keep water down. It was so very sad to have to deny my 3yo water when she was crying for it. I made her stay off liquids for an hour and she was finally able to fall asleep at 6am. So it’s been a rough morning for me on 2 hours sleep. Thankfully she can keep water down this morning since she woke with a 103 fever. Sick kiddos is so heartbreaking.
afm: I wasn’t as active last week as I wanted to be here. Life got in the way and it was such a crazy week. I was love titing as much as possible!
I found out i got recommended for a “promotion” at work. (It’s not quite a promotion as in an additional job to what I’m already doing but I get stipends of money) However, the training I would need to attend is the first week of May and I would be 33 weeks pregnant. Soooo idk what’s gonna happen.

They’re heading home from the hospital now. Docs couldn’t find a cause for the blood, so now they are just monitoring and waiting for the results of the testing that was done. She was hungry on the way home, which I feel like is a good sign when a kid isn’t feeling well. Now we just wait and see.
@dinodna3 having a sick kid is awful hope she feels better soon. And you can avoid it!
@sunshineandwhiskey that's awesome! Congrats! Hopefully you can work out the training. Is there any other options out there? Even if it's after mat leave?

@krashke - That's why I'd rather just take a weekend (or plan it for when H has a 3-day weekend) for one trip and a weekend for the other, rather than take a week and do them both at once. Cape Hatteras would be about a 12 hour drive for us, so it's not as possible as a NJ trip (4.5 hours) would be, though.
@sunshineandwhiskey how far away from you is that? And just a wkend? Fingers crossed it works out!

DH came home early from work yesterday to work from home. At 5pm he said his friend was going to come over to hang out, but then DH got a work call. So I spent two hours hanging out with his friend trying to talk quietly so we wouldn't interrupt his call while DH got increasingly agitated. Then this morning he got up early to go get a haircut, and the lady jacked his hair up, so he's mad/sad. And now he's at the office. Weekend is going well so far.... Alas, choosing to remain positive.
DH and I talked last night and I told him we really need to deal with the elephant in the room (***TW*** her H is using drugs again and I want nothing to do with him, nor do I want him around my kids - Mom is either completely oblivious to the issue or is choosing to live with it. Which is her choice but she needs to know that my choice is different - and I’m sure it going to put strain on our relationship with her).
So im putting DS down for a nap now and as soon as he falls asleep DH and I are going to have a very tough conversation with my mom. I don’t want to have it. But it needs to happen. I feel like puking.
Ugh, I have come down with whatever cold/flu/cough bug DH had last week. Started with just a sore throat when I swallowed, then really painful ear pain (again only when swallowing). Now I'm all stuffy and phlegming and coughing, which is so so painful. I'm just being a cranky complaining pregnant lady. I had to cancel plans tonight with a friend I haven't seen for months. Boo!
It sucks so bad not being able to take any good meds. I've just been sucking cough drops and drinking lemon & honey tea like its my job. DH is going to make chicken soup for dinner. What other pregnancy friendly remedies do you all have for me? (sorry, this has probably been covered before somewhere, but I didn't find it when I did a quick search)
I think nesting might have started. I just vacuumed and then vacuumed my vacuum with another vacuum. Then I took apart the vacuum and cleaned the inside. I even used a Q-tip. I need a hobby. I feel like Monica.

@krashke Hahahaha I love it. Somewhat similar experience for me today, except I decided to clean out the vacuum, accidentally dumped dirt/hair all over myself and my kitchen, cried and stuffed the vacuum back in the closet before ever using it.

@LaceyBee522 When I lived in Vermont, I’d take every opportunity to visit the factory in Waterbury. You should definitely go, and hit up the cider mill on the road between where B&J’s is and Stowe...they have the BEST cider donuts. Such a great drive. If you want some warm fun, a visit to the (heated, indoor) water park at Jay Peak is a short drive North too. Vermont is a great place for a baby moon!!
Were in Seattle this weekend for hubbys birthday...going out for drinks tonight with his high school friends (my surprise for him) and I’m taking the opportunity to dress up all fancy and show off my bump and eat something delicious when we’re out since I’m DD.
It’s around 60 degrees warmer in Seattle than home in Alaska (-25 when we left AK, 40 here) but its so rainy it feels super cold and I have had two sweaters on all weekend...aren’t we pregnant ladies supposed to overheat? I was looking forward to that symptom haha
With DS' pregnancy, we used a ribbon and marked how big my belly was every week on the ribbon. Just a little line and the wk number. I didn't feel comfortable doing that this time. But I pulled it out tonight to compare cause I compared 22 wk pics from each pregnancy and I look smaller. And I was only at wk 17 on the ribbon. That's so weird cause he's measured alittle ahead on all my scans.

I have had such a hard time falling asleep this weekend! I just did a load of baby laundry in Dreft and working on folding in bed right now while DH snores away. On the plus side, I can’t stop smelling the onesies...baby smell!
@BurlapandLace hope it went well. I'm going through something similar with my mom. She just doesnt understand how her decisions affect those around her. Hopefully your mom will be receptive and understanding.
I am bored with no energy and laying in bed. I have all these nesting projects to get done. So I want to order 3 bookcases Fromm ikea. They will deliver to our house and hopefully up to the second floor where there will go. But DH says he won’t help put them together. Anyone used task rabbit or another service to get ikea furniture assembled? I’m on exercise restrictions so probably should not be lifting to assemble them. He said he’d rather me pay more to get assembled bookshelves delivered but I don’t think he understands that most places require assembly, or pottery barn which is way too expensive.
Just bought my first maternity clothing item, a pair of maternity jeans from Target. The hair tie trick with my normal jeans was just not cutting it anymore and I was becoming Regina George with the "sweatpants are all that fit me right now" lol.
Thanks for the suggestions! @krashke I've been diffusing eucalyptus and peppermint, but I took your advice about the shower. It was awesome with the steam! I'll keep doing that @sunshineandwhiskey My hubby swears by apple cider vinegar w/ lemon and honey. I might have to go get some cayenne to try your magical drink! @emiliadkay You are so right! I spent a good amount of time eating soup and catching up on Greys and Scandal! The best medicine. Who else watches Scandal? What are they doing to Olivia?!? Over the past couple of seasons, her character has gone off the deep end...I'm not a fan.
My cats are giant jerks today. I just spent 10 minutes scrubbing out their water fountain. Since that time and getting it running they have stuck their faces in the glasses of water I poured for myself to drink twice. This is not counting when they did it to my coffee I was just about finished with this morning and the glass of milk I was also almost finished with earlier. They have dirtied 4 glasses today.
My mother just called me, and said with a tone of voice that led me to believe she had just found the solution to all our worries, "Do you remember your aunt's ex-husband's brother's ex-boyfriend? We went to his house once when you were 4-years-old? Well, he used to work at this small law firm in San Francisco -- he retired 5 years ago -- and he can't recommend DH because he doesn't know him, and they aren't currently hiring, but you could submit his resume online! Isn't that great? He said it was a wonderful place to work."
@sabby2 I stopped using open glasses around this house years ago for that reason. My girl cat sticks her face and paws into any open glass she finds. I used to cover them with coasters, then she learned to just knock them off lol

@catlady1215@sabby2 our longhair dachshund (who desperately wants to be a cat) does this! She'll stick her whole long snoot into a glass. It's especially funny when we catch her, stretched to capacity (front legs on the coffee table, back legs on the couch), all long dog with her whole head in a glass lol.
So we had our sex reveal party yesterday. My friend who is currently 33 weeks pregnant fell off the curb while getting in her car. She broke her fibula and has been in the hospital. I know it's not my fault, but I feel horrible since it happened at my event/house. Sigh.
@lisa2589 yeah I just feel so bad for her. I mean she might need surgery. "/ her and baby are both stable, but she's in a lot of pain. We started a meal train for their family. I'm just praying for a speedy recovery. She already has 2 kiddos and works full time "/
