How are you doing with your fitness goals
@doxiemoxie212 @emiliadkay @ahill24 ?

Anyone else working out? (Add a goal if you want a check-in next week.)

Link to last weeks thread so you can remember your goals:

Re: Fit Friday 1/26

  • Lolz @llamamama14 I went to the gym once this week and did 30 min of cardio so... not great, but my goal was technically for February so I don’t feel bad yet ;)

  • I made it to the gym 4 x this week which will continue to be my goal. I need to get a seat cover for spin, though because my pregnant lady parts are not tolerating the seats and I'm half-a@#ing the workout because of it. Otherwise I feel good. The 2nd trimester energy is here and im trying to harnesd it to get my body shape for the 3rd tri. and labor.
  • I’ve been plugging along with yoga and walking. Nothing too crazy, but I’ve really fallen in love with yoga. DD likes to do it with me, and it’s adorable
  • I've continued with the weight training/HIIT. My new job is screwing my schedule up a bit, but I'm getting the workouts in when I can. I hit 90 lbs with suitcase deadlifts this morning, which was exciting.

    I feel much more tired after my morning workouts than I'm used to. I just feel totally drained and I have to convince myself to get up and get ready for work. Last Friday I stayed home because I felt so tired. Not cool.

  • I cancelled all my gym sessions this week due to illness. Going on day 8.
  • Well done ladies! I failed pretty badly at my goals this week -- no workouts during the week, other than dog and to-work walks, and averaged just 5,000 steps a day even with that. BUT I'm going to spin this morning and yoga tomorrow.

    This week's goals are (1) 3 mid-week workouts (our pup goes back to hunting training today, which is sad but frees up my mornings quite a bit) and (2) find my old fitbit so I can track steps more accurately than with my phone.

    @llamamama14 I'm with you. Starting to get real freaked about labor and will do anything that might make it easier!

    I got a pretty nasty cold and I am still recovering. My husband is also out of town this weekend so I have less time to workout with a kid. Anyway, just gave myself a break this week. So far I did some tabatas and maybe one tomorrow. Next week, hopefully back to the same schedule of at least 1 weightlifting session and 3-4 tabatas. My other mini-goals are stop eating my daughter's Mac and cheese while I make it, get out and walk 20-30 minutes a day and 120 squats a day ( I did this before my last kid and some reason I think it helps labor haha!).

    How old is your DD? Im wondering if my 2 yo would do yoga with me?

  • @ahill24 She turned 2 last month. She kind of rolls around and needs to have a backup toy to last the whole 30 min, but she tries a lot of the poses and likes to play on the mat!
  • @ahill24 It's not in your head. Squatting is actually hugely promoted by the Bradley Method -- apparently it's proven to help with elasticity and opening and other good stuff down there during labor. Not sure there's any magic to 120x per day ;) but I say keep at it!
  • @pupsicle23
    I tried a easy 20 minute yoga video today and my DD informed me "I don't like this yoga." We have tried a kid oriented one prior to this called Cosmic Kids but its not exactly restorative for adults haha.

    @emiliadkay
    Okay, Ill keep up with the squats! Anything to get this baby out faster and easier.

  • So far I’ve been doing a Barre class on Sundays but need to add in some more workouts. Setting a goal to find a pre-natal yoga class this week. Baby steps.
  • @emiliadkay @ahill24 I didn't research the squats/labor thing but I did notice a big difference between labor and recover in my 1st vs. 2nd baby. (With baby 1 I was fit and had been doing squats regularly and I handled labor a lot better.)

    @pupsicle23 If I try to do work outs at home I end up with 2 kids and a dog on me. Something about being on the floor draws everyone onto me.
