Infertility

Introduction

Hey there everyone. I hope that you all are doing fine. My name is Ammy Brown-Schmidt! I am 26 soon to be 27 years old. My husband is 29 years old! We have been married for 4 years now. I was 22 when I got married. It has been around 36 months since my husband and I have been wanting to have a child. However we have found that impossible!

After a few check ups at our doctor they gave us an answer. It seems that both I and my husband have low quality reproductive cells. My husbands sperm count is low, very low. The doctors told us that it is below 20 million per ejaculation. Also they told me that my egg cells just aren't as healthy as they should be. They're lifetime is much shorter than the normal! The doctor told us that we need a huge change in our life. We used to do drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, unhealthy food... All that immature stuff.

We decided to  move here to Germany for a fresh new start. That happened 7 months ago. We have been trying to live healthy ever since. However the more we try the less possible it seems. We are thinking about doing IVF soon, if things don't change. Anybody else experiencing something similar?

  • @spyderbitt Welcome and sorry you find yourself here. Yes I can relate to being young and indulging in some fun times back in the day! I’m 37 now and H is 43 with low count 7 mil as well along with low morph . We did our ER back in Dec got 5 PGS tested embryos waiting for us come March. We fertilized them with ICSI so a couple million is more than enough for IVF is what the nurse told us. Have you been the RE yet? If not i suggest making an appointment they will for sure have more insight on your issues than your regular doctor.

Hello there dear. How are you doing today? I hope that things are fine at your end. Thank you for you comment. I am a very optimistic person, you could say, I guess... Like I think of everything possible. I cannot see anything that I cannot do. That is why I am still not going for IVF. I am waiting a little... Trying as hard as I can. I keep thinking that I will succeed on the ordinary way. However to be honest with you... This I have never said before and it hurts to say... It feels like it just won't work. Hopefully by next month I will start looking at IVF more, and more seriously.

Hey there to you too. How are you doing my friend? Really sorry to hear that you are going through the same thing as me. I guess I can understand you very well. One thing that is not so bad about situation is that no one can take the blame. Or to turn it around no one can be blamed. For me and my husband this has brought us closer. Fighting this together has been devastating but beautiful in a weird way. Do you feel this too? I have always wanted to ask this question to someone like me. I feel like I am a creep for seeing something positive in this whole schemeI am glad that you are certain for your next step. I am trying to figure out my game plan still... I am sure that I will have to undergo IVF too though.Wish you luck dear. Hopefully we'll make it out victorious!

Hello there dear! Thank you for the warm welcome. Thank for comforting me too... It was so tempting god dammit. Like maybe I didn't got that far away. I am proud to say that I never did any hardcore drugs. I just used to drink a lot and smoke weed, and cigarettes. I am sorry to hear this about your husband. It is also great to hear that you are taking steps forward. I am sure that you and your hubby will make it out a stronger couple.

Well I haven't been to an RE yet... It is due to the fact that I felt like not going... I just don't want to hear the answer. I am trying to avoid getting my dreams completely crushed. However come next month, I am thinking about going... Thank you for your comment my friend. Thank you for being this open with me. Hope you have a wonderful day!
  • @spyderbitt Don’t feel like you’re alone. There are many of us on here dealing with MFI! I also Have a uterine septum that I had removed in Monday So once I’m healed from that we will move forward with our FET. If you have any questions or need any advice feel free to DM me. I know there are certain supplements that can help your H’s sperm numbers go up!
  • Hi sweet girl! I'm sorry to hear that you and your husband have had a hard time getting pregnant. My husband and I have also been trying to get healthier so that we can start trying again. IVF would be good for you guys and/or adoption or even surrogate. Hang in there! I know this time can be frustrating, but remember that God knows the desires of your heart! He is faithful! Prayers!
  • All is good here still just pissy about waiting for a damn period to show to get my crap started! You know you have to do what you feel comfortable doing and at the end of the day if your end up doing ivf.. then so be it. It’s another opportunity for a chance to have that take home baby. Thank god for technology! Stay strong

Thank you for that friend! I really needed to hear this... To know that you are not alone! The depth this has on the psychological side is huge. Like it feels like I am in less pain than before. Recently I am in a lot of shit so hearing this makes me feel good. Or at least gives a good vibe.

I am really sorry to hear about your surgery! I hope that you have gotten yourself back completely so far. It would be a shame if you haven't! Let me know what is going on whenever you see this! I would love to hear back from you! About that last part, I don't think I will need that. The problem seems to be going a lot deeper than what we initially thought! Anyways thank you for that. i would love to talk to you more throgh dms

I am sorry for my late reply. I haven't been doing really well. I wasn't able to do anything for the past 2 months.

Hey there cryssie. I am sorry for my late reply dear. You are such a sweetie and I can't even give a reply in time. I have been really busy. I had some tests done and... Well let's just say that my infertility is pretty severe. I have low chances of IVF success. So low that one specialist told us that burning the money and then having sex had the same chances as IVF. So we decided not to go with it. You know because it will be pricey... It is not a simple procedure as we all know. I have been thinking about adoption lately and surrogacy. I am not sure whether I want to get a surrogate. However I am sure that if things go like this I will get an adoption. That might turn to be trickier than we expect! Have fun dear...
  • Hmmm.... why is there a stench of biotex in here? Better report this!
  • I got my eye on you.
