Ugh, you poor ladies with acne! I'm quite the opposite atm, my complexion is normally fairly oily, but since around week 6 I've been dry, flaky, and itchy like between my eyebrows and on my forehead. I've been having to slather lotion on everywhere to combat the itchy dry skin.
One thing I learned from my struggles with acne was to stop using soap to clean my face and stop using liquid makeup on my face. I scrub my face with plain water and a rag, and I switched to mineral powder makeup on the days I actually bother wearing it. My husband gets more zits than I do now.
@brzvice I’m not sure if mine is from gas or just from eating. I have IBS, and I think this pg is making it worse. Of course the stuff I feel like eating right now isn’t exactly IBS-friendly, and I’ve been buying a lot of foods I would usually make since cooking just sounds awful most days.
Plus one for acne but it’s more like little bumps on my forehead. So, I’m not sure if it’s hormone related or if I should switch shampoo. Isn’t there an acne medication we aren’t supposed to use while pg? I can’t remember if it’s the benzoyl or the other one (which I can’t remember at all).
@melprop@ashleyandjody my stomach has been hurting so much this time. I agree @ashleyandjody that mines constipation too. Sorry I feel like I talk about poop so much on this board. I’m even so desperate I’ve been stealing my sons raisin snacks.

@ssthomps my acne has really flared too! On my face as well as all over my neck! I feel like a teenager again. Almost lost it last night when getting ready for bed because I said " I feel so chunky and fat tonight and have a pizza face." To which my DH replied, "well you do look chunky but I like pizza." It may have been a joke, but it didn't land well!
What are you ladies using to wash your face? I recently bought Purity facial cleanser, but it doesn’t seem to be making much difference. I have been getting microdermabrasion every two weeks, but by the second week my face is back where I started two weeks prior. It’s a vicious cycle. As far as liquid makeup goes, I don’t think powder makeup will do my face justice because of how bad it looks right now.
These headaches are out of control! I’ve taken a total of 3 doses of Tylenol in the past 24 hours and feel so guilty! Like I’m gonna give my baby defects! Is anyone else struggling with headaches? I don’t know if it’s a side effect of the Unasom, or just phase two of terrible symptoms.
@69mil Tylenol is totally fine as long as you're not exceeding the prescribed dosage, just don't take Ibuprofen. Pregnancy headaches are very real and very awful. Mine have just started in the last week. Also, I have to ask... Is there a story behind your username? It reads like 69 mother-in-law in my head, and I am so confused.

Ok. That makes me feel better.
@lakesideknitter About the user name, first time I divulge this (TMI) but we conceived via IUI and 69 mil was my DH sperm count! Lol. We kept joking about it and I named the baby that on the app and when it asked me for a user name I said why not!
This is probably more of a TMI than a symptom but good lawd my farts smell SO BAD today. What is up with that?! I haven't eaten anything out of the norm of my diet.
@legallykate I’m so upset bc I loveeee honest products, I think they smell so good, so I bought the face wipes and I’m allergic! Bright red after. The smell reminds me of aveda. Ive been using bar soap on my face which sounds harsh but really helps minimize my breakouts. I use the honest co brightening lotion after. It’s really light
@calimom2524 I’m right there with you. It’s annoying and embarrassing! And here I go talking about poop again but I really think the lack of going is making the situation worse. Kind of like what was said above. Ugh

Headaches and loose stool are my symptoms of the day. I had terrible smelly gas lady night, and then spent a good amount of time on the toilet today. I hope your stinky gas is more innocuous.

I think you might be thinking of acutane. It causes birth defects, but you need a prescription for it so not found in otc products. It's common treatment for terrible acne and I've heard docs require you be on birth control while taking it because the birth defect risk is so high. I had awful acne growing up and didn't have to do acutane but it was brought up. Switching to all oil free products is what helped me the most. Now I just have rosacea that won't go away.
@calimom2524 I hear you on the gas. My farts are the worst. It's getting to the point where I can't really tell they're coming and they just kind of slip out - luckily not loudly, but still stinky. Tough to manage when you're trying to walk around a classroom
I’ve been getting acupuncture and I think it works. Luckily I have access to it for cheap as I work at a University centered on integrative health and I can go to the student clinic, but they can do points for acupuncture, helping with sleep, etc
I’m 11+3 and the nausea has gotten so much worse. Still not as bad as some of you ladies have it, admittedly, but since Friday it’s basically been all day long, noticeable though mild enough. It’s so annoying, I know there are no “rules” but this seems a little late in the game for it to be kicking up!!
@ecwk I’m right there with you. I was getting excited because I thought it’d be diminishing but nope, cranked up. I’m so nauseous right now it feels like I have the drunk spins. Maybe next week

I got acupuncture all through my last pregnancy and I’m convinced it’s why I didn’t throw up the way I did pre Diclegis with this one. I’m so jealous of your cheap access. Now that I’m not working and spending money on a toddler plus getting ready for a newborn I just can’t justify the cost.
@amac12999 oh I don’t think I would pay regular prices either! My student last year graduated and set up her own prices and sent them to me and though I really liked her I just couldn’t lol. So I restarted with another student this past summer.
@amac12999 not really. I’m on the max dose and I’m more nauseous today than I have been in a while. I took a 3 hour nap and I’m still tired. My only hope is that this is a “worse before it gets better” thing. At this point I’m just eating when I guess I should and it’s whatever I want because IDGAF anymore. I’m just frustrated and tired of feeling like shit. I know some people have it worse. I just never get sick and I really don’t handle it well. Realllllly hoping 2nd Tri is better, because I don’t have too long to go.
@lalala2004 what are you at? I feel bad complaining, because it's nowhere near as bad as many of you, but I'm 12 weeks today, and it's getting rough. I didn't have any nausea other than general food aversion until about 9 weeks, and it's been getting progressively worse to the point where I might start unisom+b6. Feels silly tho since I'm already out of first tri.. ETA words.

I’m sorry @lalala2004. I hope you start feeling better soon!
@lakesideknitter I’ll be 14 weeks this week and my nausea is the same as it was at 11 weeks when it got super bad. With DS I started feeling better at 14 weeks, and when I found out this was a boy, I thought it would be the same, but I’m starting to have my doubts
Sorry for the late responses but I have some helpful info and I haven't been on here much since the nausea has gotten the best of me. I can't even look at my phone screen without feeling worse so I've been avoiding screen time. 1st trimester SUCKS!!!!
@calimom2524 I've had sciatica pain since my first DD and I'm in #3. Best instant relief ever- have your partner use their balled fist to massage into your butt cheek...haha-it works!...whatever side is affected. RIght into the meat, the middle of your butt cheek. Massaging hard, as hard as you can't handle. It'll hurt at first because it'll cause your muscle, the muscle that's pinching your nerve to cause sciatica pain, to spasm but it'll quickly relax and the sciatica pain will disappear. Good luck!
@69mil Headaches suck and Tylenol hasn't been helping me either! Maybe just a bit but hardly and I too feel bad taking it though it's safe. When I had a couple of migraines last week I resorted to pressure point relief because I was desperate and to my surprise it worked! It's hard to explain where these two points are on the top of your foot but google it and give it a try. Make sure your googling pressure points safe for pregnancy as some pressure points can be dangerous. I had my SO apply the pressure and into helped a lot more than when i tried to do it myself.

Hello from Detroit!
I’m out of bed to have my nightly bowl of cereal because I felt too nauseated to fall asleep. Ugh.
