How many weeks/how big is baby?
    28 weeks - coconut
    How are you feeling?
I have reflux laryngitis and I work with hearing impaired!  I’m not sleeping because reflux cough keeps me up all night and I’m a ball of anxiety, so could be better!
    Any appts coming up?
28 week check up (and start of every two week appointments), with gtt and another liver panel.
    Rants/raves/questions?
this week is a perfect storm for my anxiety. Dh most likely will lose his job Friday and have to either step down or take loa to look for something else, and I haven’t yet figured out if this shut down means I will get my paycheck.  My branch is exempt from shutdown so I have to work and we are funded but I can’t figure out online if the branch that processes payroll is exempt or not so we could be completely without an income by Friday.  Both of our vehicles are having issues this week that normally I would fix no problem but I don’t want to fork any money out until I know the extent of our financial situation.
QOTW: what are you looking forward to most when baby arrives? Can be one thing or many!
honestly, with all of the gov crap I am having major guilt about bringing another life into this country. I’m terrified the army base down the road or us would be a target for foreign enemies, or that trump decides to shut down my department on a whim (it’s been a republican threat for years). Plus I’m high risk so just hoping to bring her home healthy!   I’m just hoping all of these fears are hormonal and that the anxiety goes away after she is here!!
  • @riversdoctor I'm so sorry About the stress from the shutdown. My dh is forloughed. I guess he goes in to work tomorrow to close things up and then will be home. We were planning on paying off a huge chunk of our debt in preparation of possibly buying a home soon. We've decided to put that off because we aren't sure how long he will be without pay. My anxiety is worst during pregnancy as well. I'm trying to make time each day to practice deep breathing exercises. I also don't allow myself to keep thinking about the anxious things. I legit will set a timer and after 5 mins I make myself be done googling or obsessing about that topic. It's helped me a lot.

  • @riversdoctor @mcb2016 I am so sorry you both have this added stress. I can't imagine having these extra financial worries on top of being pregnant
  • How many weeks/how big is baby?
26 weeks baby is the size of a stalk of Kale

    How are you feeling?
pretty good I have begun a nesting phase so getting some extra energy in and using it while I can

    Any appts coming up?
yes I have a regular OB appt this Friday

    Rants/raves/questions?
my boyfriends sisters who each have two kids around the “terrible two’s” age and they reminded me all weekend “just you wait until you have a baby” and just kept making this whole baby pregnancy thing out to be so negative. I ended up making a snarky comment back and they dropped it. I get I am a FTM but the negativity is not needed

QOTW: what are you looking forward to most when baby arrives? Can be one thing or many!

I cannot wait to see what he looks like. The thought of him being a mix of me and my boyfriend just really warms my heart. He will probably have dark brown eyes and dark hair and lots of it. I just am so excited to meet this little human we created

@riversdoctor @mcb2016 I am sorry to hear about the added stress in your life. Being pregnant and stress about the baby is more than enough and to add the financial stress. You both seem like very strong smart women you will get through it. Thinking of you both and hoping for really positive outcomes
  • @riversdoctor @mcb2016 oh my gosh, I am so sorry! Financial stress is so hard, especially while pregnant and trying to prepare for a new life. Ughhh. I heard they were voting today (Monday) at noon on whether to reopen the govt. Praying they can come together and stop this today!! My sister is in a similar  boat, active military, almost 20 years in and not getting paid. Its so frustrating!!
  • @sjn00 I’m hoping they can act like adults do their job!  The last shutdown we had prior appropriations in place and were fully funded. This time we don’t but are just exempt making it all the more confusing!

If any private employer tried to pull this crap ceos would be in jail!
  • @riversdoctor I agree! No one else would be able to get away with this! Ugh man, they better figure it out today!
  • I'll chime in and add that i am super annoyed the shutdown is happening. I feel terrible for those who are affected. I read an article and they took the stance of 'in this group 50% is exempt' and i got super annoyed about it. Like what about the OTHER half?? I saw a meme on fb this morning that said we should demand Congress gets no pay until this is resolved.

Anyway ladies I'll be thinking of you and your families...really all who are affected.

  • I was more anxious last time we went through a shutdown.  I have a huge honey do list for my dh if this thing drags on.  I'm bummed we can't leave the local area. (I have to stay within 30 minutes of our hospital now since I am high risk and because of my past pregnancy history)

I completely agree that congress shouldn't get paid.

  • YAY! ITS OVER!!!!!!
  • I'll be happier once it's signed and done with. But such a huge waste of time. My dh had to go in to close up for a few hours today. My 1 year old was super excited to walk down to the metro and meet daddy early at least. :)

  • How many weeks/how big is baby?
30 weeks - Ovia says could be as much as 3.5# - getting so big!

    How are you feeling?
Reflix is awful. Pelvic and back pain is awful. Sleeping is awful. Plus I think night terrors have begun with #2. He's woke around 3am the last 2 days screaming bloody murder and takes 2 hours to go back to sleep and by then I'm up for the day. Blahhh.

    Any appts coming up?
Next week. Should have been this week but we're on a mini vaca at an indoor water resort this week.

    Rants/raves/questions?
    See above.

QOTW: what are you looking forward to most when baby arrives? Can be one thing or many!
Agreed. Can not wait to have normal self back so I can go to chasing my little around cuddling my bitty.

  • @mcb2016 its signed now right? I got busy this evening and lost track of what was happening! I agree, huge waste of time and it can still happen again next month grrrr.

@dirtyboots lol I had an ultrascan today 29+1 and my little one is currently 3.5 pounds!!!
  • @sjn00 yes! We are good for the next 17 days I believe.

  • @mcb2016 hopefully they will figure things out before then!
  • Im always late for these. Sundays have been busy!

@riversdoctor @mcb2016 Im sure this week has been so stressful for yall with the shutdown. Glad things seem sorted out for now at least.

How many weeks/how big is baby?

30 weeks, measuring very large at 4lbs already  :o

    How are you feeling?

Much better this week. Still tired but a lot less uncomfortable.

    Any appts coming up?

30 week check up yesterday. Everything looked good and babys kidneys are finally looking normal so Im very releived about that! He is measuring top 13percentile though so that is kinda weird and worrying as I am a very small person... my glucose test was normal and ive been eating healthy and weight gain on track so i guess i just make big babies.

    Rants/raves/questions?

Anyone have size predictions be inaccurate or spot on in previous pregnancies?

QOTW: what are you looking forward to most when baby arrives? Can be one thing or many!

I can't wait to hold him and see his face! Also ready to not feel like i have a basketball in my belly.
  • @rach-j i haven't had predictions of small or large babies on the past (my doc never mentioned it) but i think the measurements are more estimations vs. 100% truth. I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like you've been taking very good care of your body which is what is important

  • @beach_mama thanks, im still hoping they are off a bit but not worrying too much. As long as he keeps baking in there i wont complain!

  • @Rach-j  my 2016 baby always measured ahead too. He was born at 36wks and was over 7 pounds. At his 18 month appointment his dr was surprised he continues to go up in height % and has not leveled out yet.  I am very tall so it's not surprising.

This time around my drs have been having me test frequently for gestational diabetes. I haven't had it yet!  There is some concern about growth for this baby because she has a 2 vessel cord. So far she is doing fine. :)

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

  • @mcb2016 gosh he was pretty big for 36weeks! But he sounds healthy! My SO and I are both short and small boned so Im not sure where LO is getting his chunky size from haha

I'm glad to hear the 2 vessel cord has not been inpacting her growth!

  • @Rach-j, my first DS measured big during ultrasounds and I measured about two weeks ahead pretty consistently. I ended up with a big baby. They run in DH’s family, and mine was one of the smaller babes at 9 lbs 1 oz. That said, I hear of a lot of stories where the size predictions don’t hold up.
  • @sjn00 it seems crazy, but expected, that baby is getting so big. I mean I've only been pregnant forever and am the size of the house, but it's just exciting that we're finally "getting there".

  • Hi ladies! Just now getting back to my regular schedule after a long weekend. Glad the govt shutdown was very short.

How many weeks/how big is baby?
28 weeks, baby is the size of an eggplant!

    How are you feeling?
Lots of energy, which is great. Also, lots of heartburn and trouble falling/staying asleep, which is not so great.

    Any appts coming up?
Took my glucose test this morning, still waiting on the results. Measuring on track and and everything looks good so far!

    Rants/raves/questions?
Restless legs are still driving me nuts, but I've found that some squats/leg raises before bed help quite a bit. Anything to get my muscles moving and stretched.

QOTW: what are you looking forward to most when baby arrives? Can be one thing or many!
The number 1 thing by far is being able to sleep on my belly again! We completed our registry this past weekend and I'm so excited and anxious for baby boy to get here so we can start using all of this neat stuff!
