i found out almost 2 weeks ago that I am pregnant for the first time, but my doctor (I live in Canada) won't send me for an ultrasound until I'm at least 11 weeks! It just doesn't feel real yet! Does anyone know how I can get an ultrasound sooner?!
I disagree. For early ultrasounds, you really need someone experienced with transvaginal u/s. Going to a boutique ultrasound with a minimum wage tech who just got their certificate is not the best plan for early in the first tri -- you could be setting yourself up for a lot of heartbreak without an expert doing an early scan.
*dirty lurker* Just want to throw out there that not needing early ultrasounds is a great thing. It means that you likely didn't have trouble getting KU, and that you're not high-risk for any complications. I know it's hard to be patient, but try to be glad that there's no need until 11 weeks.
My first won't be until my anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I don't even get a doctor visit until 10.5 weeks.

I wont get an US until 20 wks unless there are concerns. I won't even see my doc until 12 weeks. it's so long to wait but as long as things seem to be going well, that's okay!
Hi, welcome to our board! Please read the "Read this first" post, as this would be a perfect discussion for our weekly randoms thread! Thanks, and here's to a H&H 9 months!

I feel like this has already come up a couple of times and I want to just copy paste this response. I would trade 11 weeks of waiting in a heartbeat for the chance to become spontaneously pregnant.
