August 2018 Moms

Little bit worried

I am 8w5d today and when I wiped there was a single spot of blood; not a smear. Maybe pencil eraser size. I’ve had loose bowels (not quite diarrhea) all day. It’s been about 6 hours since the single blood drop and I’m trying to figure out what it is?

  • Spotting?

  • Irritation from going to the bathroom a few times maybe?
  • @scottishlass1213 it was before I started to have the loose bowels

@hardlyhannah I guess it could be spotting but weird just to be one.
  • Are you sure it’s vaginal? Could it be from
    the rectum?

One spot is no biggie. It can happen. Best thing to
do is relax. Lay down. Drink fluids.  Contact your OB after hours and they’ll give you further direction. Dont
panic, mama. There are some women who swear they have periods all 9 months because they regularly spot. They aren’t having periods. Everyone’s body reacts differently.

    Praying for you!
  • @dirtanddiamonds it’s vaginal because I saw it after wiping from urination. I don’t have an OB yet but I’m definitely just resting and not freaking out but would be nice if it never happened! Thank you for the prayers! ❤️
  • I’ve had this happen twice my OB said not to worry I think this can be very normal in first trimester
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
  • I can appreciate that this would cause stress but try not to freak out yet.  My nurse told me if I was to begin bleeding like it was my period - that's a cause for panic.  Spotting or discharge is normal.
