  • Aw! @ecwk first haircut is a big day! FX that DS sits still! My DS sat on my lap facing me for his and he was pretty good, and his curls grew back!  :)

  • @mrsbubbles-2 yay new clothes! Sounds fun!

@ecwk first haircut is a big day! Good luck!

DH and I have tickets to a show this afternoon and get to have a lunch date first. Too bad it’s so dang cold because I wanted to wear my new fancy dress but don’t want to freeze!
  • @mrsbubbles-2 I'm doing the same! And since this is my first, these are my first ever maternity clothes.

  • DH is a big Eagles fan so we're having a few friends over later for pizza and to watch the game.  Mostly I'm looking forward to the pizza. :-)
  • @mrsbubbles-2 I had fun (I got four pairs of pants and a top) but I think my mom had more fun sending the poor salesgirl back and forth finding things in my size. After all, it's HER daughter that's pregnant. I think she's still a little upset my SIL didn't invite her to come shopping with her.

  • My in-laws are down for the weekend, but it’s cool because FIL is helping DH paint our basement. And I can’t smell anything right now so I don’t even need to worry about the smell making me more nauseous.

  • I'm doing some online thrift store shopping for maternity clothes.  Some of my old clothes have gotten pretty worn but I don't want to spend a ton on new ones.

Tomorrow we're taking the girls to the aquarium because I just can't stay cooped up inside anymore.  Why do I live in NJ?????

  • @msmonalisavito where are you online thrift shopping?! I let a friend borrow all my maternity clothes and she passed them along to someone else so I have nothing for when I need them.
  • @msmonalisavito I would like to know where you’re shopping too! My in-laws gave me a Target gift certificate for maternity clothes for Christmas, but I totally spent it on my DD lol I’d so much rather shop for her than for myself!
  • @rosalie0208 I love target for maternity clothes and H&M! H&M has super cute maternity clothes that aren’t too pricey but not all the stores carry them.

@cthulu good to know!! Thank you!! Last time around, I mostly did Target, Kohl’s, some Old Navy, Motherhood Maternity for jeans, and Pink Blush for a few more fun, unique tops and dresses. Luckily, DD was born in June so the seasons should match up pretty well so I can reuse everything! But man, I need some new options because I got so tired of wearing the same things by month 9 that I think I’m still a little tired of them!! Lol
  • @rosalie0208 I hate how expensive maternity clothes are. At the end with my daughter I was just wearing sized up tanks from target and shorts. So dumb that they charge more for “maternity” tank tops when you can just size up in their regular tanks.

Agree!! Motherhood Maternity jeans are the only thing worth it to me simply because they stay up better than the other ones I tried, but I honestly bought a bunch of $2 long tank tops from Walmart and wore those under a bunch of my shirts because Maternity tanks are ridiculously expensive!

I've been using thredup.com because they have an awesome selection.  I've bought used clothes from them in the past, both maternity and regular clothes and I've never had an issue.  You can shop by brand as well.

  • YaY for maternity clothes shopping. Interesting I didn’t know they had thrift store online shopping. Good to know. We are on our way to a baby shower. I don’t feel well so I am pushing myself to get dressed. By pushing, I mean sitting in the bathroom on the bump.
  • @msmonalisavito I’m trying to convince my mom to buy me some stuff off thredup as we speak haha. She doesn’t want to get anything until my first appointment though which is understandable
  • My best friend just gave me a lot of her nice maternity clothes which was so exciting! Her second was born in August.

My brother And sister in law are picking up DS for the night and DH and I are going over to a friend’s to watch football.

I went with my mom too, and the salesgirl asked "who is more excited, Mom or Grandma?" and we were both like "Grandma!"  :D

It's so weird when people AW it up on the ultrasound thread (and undoubtedly the forthcoming HDBD threads) but never participate anywhere else. So strange...
I have not even opened the ultrasound thread for this exact reason haha
  • Hubby is scrubbing the kitchen while I lay on the couch throwing a plush Pokéball at my son as he runs around like a nut. Living the life over here.
  • Went to breakfast with the hubs this morning (yum, stuffed French toast) and then to pick up my many new prescriptions (thanks diabetes) Now to relax and do nothing until work tonight!
  • I’m getting to the point where I need to pull out my maternity clothes for comfort sake, but I just don’t have the energy to wash and sort them....

  • On my to-do this week is to go through all my maternity clothes from last time. since my work was ‘business casual’ with my first pregnancy, I had mostly dress pants and tops. Now I work somewhere different and we can wear jeans and very casual. I only had 2 pairs of jeans and both are from Motherhood and I loved them! I’m thinking I may have some shopping in my future though! I’ll have to check out H&M this time. Last time I stuck to Old Navy and Target mostly.

  • I'm loving all this maternity clothes talk! This my first so tbh, the thought of buying maternity clothes is kind of intimidating/overwhelming. All the suggestions are great!

@quinnsmom21 Congrats on defending your thesis!! You must be super relieved!

Big dance performance tonight - I'm starting to get a bit nervous but also excited! I'm also a little bummed cuz I won't be dancing after this til baby comes, so it'll be my last time to perform for a while.

Saaaaame. Hair band trick for life here.

So this weekend we are doing more house stuff per usual. I actually fixed this crazy issue we were having with one of our faucets today and now we're trying to wire a set of lights up for our headboard that we're building.

Earlier DH was kind of irritated that I wanted to work on the bath faucet but the thing was literally rattling the walls because the washer was basically GONE from corrosion so water was flopping around in the pipe (ok maybe not REALLY but in my minds eye that's what the sound was lol) AND it was leaking. Anyway I am super proud that I fixed it because I have a running tally of how much money we have saved by DIYing a lot of stuff and it's well into the thousands. I even fixed our dryer by myself at 4 weeks pregnant. Lol.
  • DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE ROOM. Ever. Especially while pregnant.

  • @lakesideknitter DH has forbidden me from watching that- he said I'll just be upset and sad for days after. But he still won't watch 'The Room' with me!

My dad wants to surprise my mom with a trip to Disney World next month- she's never been, but loves all things Disney (she's already purchased every Disney princess doll for my brother's daughter, and fully intends to do the same if we have a girl). He wants to take her before they become grandparents. I've never actually planned a Disney trip, so I'm a little discombobulated, but I'm trying to help!

  • @jsnakehole your husband is a smart man. I read the book in high school, but the movie is too real, esp since I now have a kid. Also, idk how expensive it is, but there are travel agents specifically for Disney. They aren't affiliated with Disney, but that's all they do.

  • @jsnakehole if they're overwhelmed use a Disney travel agent...it's no cost to you and they handle everything.  I'm all about disney and can plan a trip in my sleep but there is a lot to consider especially if it's a once in a lifetime type trip, so an expert can really help.
  • @quinnsmom21 Yay! Congrats on a successful defense and Happy Birthday!!! Be very lazy today  :)
@hezzer78 good luck! Update us when you can!

AFM shopping was a success! I hit Ross first, they have a small maternity section and I got a few tops for not much $
Target next for jeans and they had some tops that I can wear to work. Then I unearthed my box of maternity clothes in the basement. My last was an August baby too so I’m good for seasonal stuff!

  • @quinnsmom21 happy birthday!!

@hezzer78 hope your performance goes well!!

Ugh, I need to sort and wash my maternity clothes, too. I wore one of the dresses today and sprayed a bunch of perfume so it wouldn’t smell too musty, lol! Whatever.
  • @lakesideknitter ugh I made that mistake with my last pregnancy. I had no idea what it was about—so many tears
  • Aside from the horrible dialogue and acting, two things that have always bothered me about Star Wars: Episode III- Natalie Portman brushing her curly hair with a flat paddle brush when it's dry (an excellent way to create a ton of frizz!), and her wearing a nightgown with beaded straps on her arms. She's visibly pregnant, and is definitely going to have to sleep on her side. That's not going to be comfortable at all!
