Re: Monday Bitchfest 1/8

  • I feel bad even bitching about this because at the end of the day it's so not a huge but omg my commute this morning! It's like we get some heavier rain and California breaks. I heard there was a train delay and decided that no I'm not dealing with that today so I decide to drive. I leave my house early, before rush hour traffic expecting my drive to take about 25 minutes. Perfect, I think, I'mm be at the office by 6:30 and get a solid start on my day. Over an hour later I arrive at work... The traffic was a disaster, there were 3 accidents and I just wanted to turn around and go home. I hope everyone involved in an car accidents is ok and I feel bad bitching about this but this whole morning made me want to turn around and go back to bed.

  • I just hate everyone and everything today.  Oh and to top it off my lovely husband drew a penis on the side of my car in the leftover snow dust.  I drove to work today and got so many stares in the parking lot- then I look down and saw it.  I literally could have killed him.  Not the best way to start off a Monday- especially when I haven't worked a Monday in 3 weeks because of Holidays :(
  • @babygagnon2018 I hope you're plotting your revenge  :D

  • @runsomewhere I hope your day gets better!! Here on the other coast my commute sucked arse too...(albeit MUCH later!) and I have this absurd recurring Monday am meeting with the head of HR. Not the meeting to be late to EVERY.DAMN.Monday.... ughh
  • @babygagnon2018 what is it with guy’s an penises? I would be ragey about that too.. especially if someone saw it!

@runsomewhere I live in a small town with the only REAL traffic being for football games lol, but I can imagine that having to wait in traffic for 45 minutes longer than normal would be soooo infuriating!
  • We recently hooked up an outdoor wood furnace for our house and it’s been around 80 degrees in the house since then. I am SO grateful that we’ve had a warm house especially since it’s been the arctic out there the last couple weeks, but holy hell its hot in here.. it’s in the 20s today and I have 2 windows open.
  • This has been a HORRIBLE winter sickness wise in our house. It seems like one thing after another and I am sick of it! Woke up with the stomach flu on top of still pretty constant morning sickness. Yuck! My 2 year old is currently eating a popsicle for lunch because that’s what he wanted and I just can’t Mom today.
  • @mhaack92 that really sucks, feel better! @hillbillywife I'm glad you're warm at least!

@runsomewhere I'm really sorry about your commute, we had a doc appointment this am which is normally 5-6 minute drive and it took us 15. Drive safe on the way back.

My bitching goes to clutter and a little bit to DH. We got a new TV stand and he was supposed to put it together on Saturday while I was out of the weekend. I get back Sunday at 1pm and he's still finishing up assembling it, the Christmas tree is STILL THERE but in a bag (he was supposed to recycle it on Saturday), there's empty boxes everywhere and dust and the whole downstairs is a mess. I didn't give him too much grief because I know that tv stand was going to be tricky to out together but...what the heck did he do all day Saturday??? And clutter, I'm seriously going to tell all my friends and family that I love them but please don't gift me ANYTHING that is a tangible object that takes space unless it's clothing. I'm done with books, art pieces, trinkets... in don't have any available wall space and I need to make room for baby boy. I seriously wanted to cry this morning looking at all the crap we own and don't even use. On to minimalism I go!
  • @babygagnon2018 I'm dying!!!!! MH would definitely do this, and I definitely would get a lot of attention since I teach at a HS :)

@babygagnon2018 have you heard of the show American Vandal?? It is a spoof of Making a Murderer and it's about a high school kid who is accused of drawing penises on 27 cars. Our DH are truly worse than toddlers sometimes :)
  • @runsomewhere I don't know how this happens everywhere! I hope the day gets better some other way for you. There's two bridges that are VERY important to getting around our town. We get rain regularly. Each time it rains both bridges have wrecks on them and traffic gets back up for 1-3 hours. -.- people just can't drive.

@babygagnon2018 ... this is how my husband proposed to me. Keeper for sure. We were at the beach and he was telling me sweet things and drawing stuff in the sand. He apparently didn't want me to see the proposal coming so. boom. penis in the sand. You just got another keeper, they try to keep the romance alive. I try to laugh it off these days.

my complaint is going to follow @mhaack92.

There's five people in my department (ones on maternity leave) EVERYONE has been sick. One girl had the flu. I am trying to save my sick time for maternity leave so, even though I was completely miserable Friday, I came anyway. I've been sick for 2.5 weeks now. My boss left last Friday with a HEADACHE. yeah. Another girl was off Friday for her bach party, comes back today and is 'sick' so she had to leave after being here for two hours. Must be nice.

  • @hillbillywife Oh I would so have windows open. I hate being too hot or too cold, I’m like Goldilocks lol.

@kissableviv I’m sorry! I am feeling the same way lately. With everything up in the air of me going back to California, I’m feeling so overwhelmed about going back there even though it’s for the better, because they have so much stuff and animals and people running around. They have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 1 kid, 1 Grandma and my mom. Thinking about adding me and baby is giving me a headache but I know it will all work out. I hope you and your husband can work on things together and start making room!
  • @hayhay93 - Just think, that's more ppl to support you when baby comes!
  • Very true and I couldn’t be more thankful for my mom and sister. @moguippy

My true bitchfest today is that I am currently on hold, 36 minutes and running, and this awful music is playing and every 10 seconds this recorded woman comes on and does a speech about different numbers you can call for different things and I want to reach through the phone and smack her across the face... :)
  • My coworker is driving me absolutely bonkers today. There's only two of us that work in our pod in family practice and our personalities couldn't be more opposite, today she is just putting me over the edge  :(

We’re going to Disney on Wednesday and we’re literally never going to be packed. We were supposed to do it yesterday but the playoff game was on so that didn’t happen. DH is off tomorrow but already has plans to go get his hair cut in the morning and needs to go to the bank, so you know, that will be like 4 hours. We need to go to target and I *wanted* to get pedicures but it’s not looking good. I already packed DSs clothes (most of them) but nothing else. Ugh. This trip is more of a freaking project as with every trip. It’s like almost not even worth it.
  • @paytonpedro I hope you get to enjoy it once there, though! Are you going to Disney World or Disneyland?

  • @runsomewhere haha ive legit spent all day thinking of how to get back at him.

@kissableviv I have not heard of it! But deff googling it tonight!
  • @babygagnon2018 i laughed out loud when I read that! I would be so embarassed that I discovered it late and had to drive around like that but its pretty funny!

@paytonpedro does DH help you pack? Once DH was being an a-hole about packing and like, got drunk the night before instead and we had a flight at 5pm after work and i had to bring all his shit on the metro with mine (this was years ago living in DC). I packed nothing but bright green shirts on purpse and he has done his own packing ever since!

@paytonpedro I think vacations feel kind of not worth it as a grown up. But thinking back to my childhood, vacations were amazing and so much fun, so I hope that my kids don’t remember Mom being a frazzled mess and do remember them being awesome! Hopefully your DS thinks it’s so magical and it ends up being a good time for everyone! And if procrastination has taught me anything it’s thay things usually come together better than I thought! And if you forget something there’s probably a Walmart close by!
  • I put this in the genetic testing thread but I think it's totally worthing of bitchfest. Just checked the Natera patient portal and apparently my results were delivered to my provider today. I called earlier this morning and they said they didn't have it yet and to call back on Thursday. Well now it's too late for me to call to get the results! So clearly I'm calling again tomorrow morning and not waiting. So much torture!!!
  • @paytonpedro I hate packing too. My DH acts helpless when it comes to packing. Drives me nuts.

My bitch for the day is I can't stop puking. Since Friday, I have been able to hold down a piece of toast and a tortilla. This is with taking phenagren. I'm so over this and if lobe more person says it will be over soon, I'm going to smack them. I am 12wks and it is showing no signs of stopping.

@hillbillywife Oh wow! 80 would have me sleeping outside haha. Is there no way to lessen the heat? Sorry, not familiar with outdoor wood furnaces.

ETA: my complaint for the day is the girl that sits two cubes away from me puts on the most terrible, stinky, strong smelling lotion I’ve ever smelled in my life EVERY SINGLE DAY. I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t pregnant I would hate it but being pregnant it makes me want to gag. I’m seriously thinking of stealing it off her desk.
  • @zombiehoohaa We’re going to Disney World, I think. The one in Florida! I’m mostly excited that it will be 50 degrees warmer!!

@SmashJam I always have to pack for DH, along with DS and myself, and when we go places closer to home, 3 dogs too. THAT IS HILARIOUS!!!!!  :D:D:D:D I would totally do that if DH had brought bright yellow/green shirts!! I told him he has to pack for himself this time and I’m sticking to it. It’s so annoying. Then he gets annoyed when I forget something. Well, if I did t have to remember EVERYTHING!!

@hillbillywife That’s completely true. I know I always had fun, and this is my sons first big vacation like this so I’m sure he’s going to have a great time regardless! If not he’s probably still to little to remember haha!

@brittany121087 Yep. Same. He’s a grown a$$ man and I still have to pack for him. When he gets out of the shower he always asks me for a shirt and underwear too. So incapable. Haha.
  • I’m not sure what thread this goes into - but at my Ob appt Friday I learned that bc I have (hereditary) low platelets, I likely won’t be eligible for an epidural. Normal range is 150-400, and platelets fall throughout your pregnancy... Mine are now at 90. Epidural cut off is 80 — and doctor says it’s unlikely I’ll make it.
So, damn it. Natural birth (or c-section) it is.
I’m trying not to be upset - but it sucks having options taken away.
  • I'm a bitch today and it makes everything seem fucking terrible. Non pregnant me would be estatic to have the day I have had. Pregnant me is seriously annoyed by every little thing.
  • @ashbub714 I’m not really sure lol. My husband grew up with wood heat and their general thought with feeling too warm Ian to just open a window lol. So that’s what I do! I had a window open for like 6 hours today lol

@pretzellover dang it that sucks. I love my epidural lol. Maybe you’ll be okay??
  • @pretzellover oh no! Sorry to hear that. I haven’t heard of that test before even. Did your dr run a specific routine test?
  • @pretzellover I’m so sorry that’s a bummer.
  • Thanks guys. I just needed to complain...
@kinny512 Anytime you do a blood test that looks at red & white cells, they test platelets. I only know the ranges because it’s always an outlier for me. And before any surgery the doctors get a little weird about it.

My DH is exploring banking blood and/or platelets for me in case I need a transfusion. He is such a nice person!
  • @pretzellover that stinks. You never know, you could have a unicorn birthing experience and just sneeze the baby out---no meds required! (I'm still hoping for that unicorn birth but so far no luck)

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • Spent over 6 hours in the hospital for dehydration today. Hadn't kept any fluids down for more than 24 hours. Now I'm just feeling really blah in that saline drip kind of way. And DH is stressed out to the max and not being the nurturer I want him to be right now. I know he's singlehandedly doing everything while I'm down for the count but I still want him to set aside time to take care of me. Am I being too needy?
  • @pretzellover I was going to say would a platelet transfusion be an option? I will say I had an umedicated birth, not by choice (showed up to the hospital at 9cm) and I think I’m going to try for it willingly this time. But it must suck knowing you’re going into it with less options from the start. Fx you’re pregnancy is so perfect your platelets don’t drop any more
  • @pretzellover do you have the option of hiring a doula? They can make a world of difference in natural birth (if that's the direction you want to go).

  • Trying to catch up after a busy weekend with family.
All my bitching and complaints are about our nephew. OMG can he please stop yelling and running around the house?? It's bad enough that the house kinda shakes because of our crawl space when you walk too heavily. He seems to not care that DS is trying to take a nap or going to bed. He followed me to the room  as I tried to put DS down for a nap. I am over here trying to calm him with some rocking and my nephew just walks in to see what's up and make noise - DS is once again distracted and energized. I know kids will be kids and he's only 4 but gosh I am so grateful DS is still at that tantrum stage (not that bad at least).
  • No matter how much I clean today my house is still a disaster.

    imageimage

    image

  • @LadyJ2949 I feel you. My house is a disaster 24/7. and I don't even have kids yet.
  • @flockofmoosen3 Um, yes please to the unicorn birth!!

@acunamatada wow - that sounds both pretty hectic and also bad ass! I hope my pain tolerance is up there with yours!

@runsomewhere Thanks for the suggestion. I’m totally a big hospital kinda gal; makes me feel much safer. Not sure if doula is incompatible with that?; will have to do some research!
  • @pretzellover you can absolutely hire a doula to be with you at the hospital, some hospitals even have midwives and doulas on staff. The difference is that at birthing centers you're tended to by midwives and doulas instead of nurses and doctors.

I found a doula I loved and wanted to hire her to assist me with natural child birth but it ended up being a scheduled induction at 41 weeks and all my plans flew out the window.
