So my SIL had her beta yesterday, they had their FET on 12/29. I’m happy for them, I really Am Bc they have been through hell with 2miscarriages and a molar pregnancy. Just can’t help wish it was our turn, ya know? Just gotta wait a few more months for our FET, and I hope It’s the same results!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): PNV, Vit C, Vit D, Omega 3, Unbiquinol

Rants/Raves: Well tomorrow is our RE appt. Dh and I talked last night about financials just so I could stop worrying about it. We will have $1500 to spend with an RE which isn't much but is about 2 months of treatment and this month as the consult and hopefully saline sono. He asked me if a year from now I still wasn't pregnant would I regret spending that money and I said no because we aren't going into debt for it our taking it out of our emergency fund. He's worried about me being BSC and stressed again but I don't think I will be. In the beginning of our TTC journey I did get stressed after 3 months but now I'm not and not desperate either. Kinda funny how things change like that. I remember being stressed about the age gap I wanted between our kids and stressed about giving DD a sibling but I could care less about that stuff now. Don't get me wrong I'd love a baby but those things don't serve me anymore.

Questions for the group: None at the moment

GTKY: What foods or natural supplements/products are you using to help TTC ?? I'm a pretty healthy eater to begin with. I'm the person that has a salad almost every day. Mornings consist of oatmeal with fresh berries. I make smoothies with berries, banana, and spinach. I need to get some more suja juice - I found a couple flavors I do like. I eat an apple or pear every day along with the smoothie for snack. I'll eat peanuts for healthy fat and protein.

What are you thankful for this week? I'm thankful we finally got the xmas decor down so I can start my deep cleaning process with the house :)

@ndz2018 - that's great news about your SIL - sounds like they've had a rough journey. You only have a few months left and you're almost there.

GTKY: What foods or natural supplements/products are you using to help TTC ?? I've been doing clean eating for the past 3 years drinking red rasberry leaf tea

What are you thankful for this week? All of you:)

    @vlagrl29 good luck tomorrow.

@ndz2018 how is the foster dog doing? Are you keeping him lol?
  • @Labluver2 As much as I would LOVE to keep him, we are just gonna foster and hopefully find him a loving him! We are 100% keeping him till we find him the right Home. He’s not just going to anyone!
  • Well I feel better after calling the clinic asking about cash discounts.  So the consult will be $200 tomorrow instead of $300 if we write a check.  Lab work can be done at quest yea!  U/S will also be $200 with cash discount.  Unfortunately as I had a feeling saline sono is $700 and has to be done on a certain day of the month so we just won't get that done and assume I have no uterine issues.  She said it only has to be done if you are getting IVF.  So we may actually have 3 medicated cycles now with the discount.

Anyone ever notice how certain months can be different regarding your CM.  Last month I didn't notice as much fertile CM and today low and behold on freaking CD10 super early IMO I have the fertile CM.  So I guess I'll ask DH if he prefers to BD tonight or tomorrow night.  I decided to not do anything extra this month.  No pre seed - just going to have good ole fashioned sex cause we might as well at this point!

@ndz2018 - glad doggy is doing ok :)

@vlagrl29 good luck with the RE!

@ndz2018 congrats to your SIL and goodluck with your IVF

  • @harleyquinn0621 YAY!!! So happy for you guys!!! Congratulations !!!
  • @vlagrl29 I’m so glad you got a discount!!!! That’s amazing!
  • @vlagrl29 so glad that they give you a discount!!! I wouldn't be to concerned on the saline test. We had to have it done bc I've never been pregnant and they wanted to make sure there wasn't a reason.

@harleyquinn0621 I'm so happy for you and yes please stick around and keep us posted on how you are doing!!!! You give me home that it could happen for me!!!

@ndz2018 I know you will find him a good home.
  • So started BCP last night, I was like WOW it’s been like 6+ years since I took these! I guess they’ll have me on the for the next two months till it’s time for my FET. I feel like all I do is wait.... waiting for my PGS results(hopefully in the next 5-7 days) , wait for the surgery, wait to heal, wait for my FET. The wheels of IVF are soooooooooo slow.
  • @harleyquinn0621 so happy for you and glad that you’ll stick around with us for a bit! Great news!!! What a way to start off the new year!

@vlagrl29 awesome that with the discount you could have three months of treatment, not bad! I think it’ll happen for you, especially with your great diet and lifestyle, bound to happen!

@ndz2018 yes it’s a slow roller coaster, IVF...thankful you got to this point, you’re almost there! We are thinking that maybe since this is our last IVF try that IF anything made it to day 3, which granted, has never happened yet, but if it did, we might just implant one and test the rest and pray really hard that it takes.
  • Status (WTO/TWW/Benched/in process of testing or treatment): in IVF treatment process, week three of calendar

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): microdose Lupron protocol, prenatal, vit d, CoQ10, baby aspirin, week two of pre-IVF required antibiotic/antifungal meds which messes with my stomach...ugh

    Rants/Raves
: gi issues from drugs suck (but don’t get me wrong...if this works will be so worth it!)

    Questions for the group:

GTKY: What foods or natural supplements/products are you using to help TTC ?? Red raspberry leaf tea 1 cup per day, Brazil nuts two per day, almonds, mostly organic, grass fed beef, berries and bell pepper most every day, Maca root tincture although I stopped it while doing these antibiotics because I have enough stomach issues this week

What are you thankful for this week? Memories with my grandma who passed away Saturday night. She inspired me and I know she’s looking down.

  • @Momifbysea I am so Sorry to hear about your grandmother, hold on to those memories and share them as much as possible to keep her memory alive!
    question, why the antibiotic/antifungal meds?
  • Well our appt with the RE went good and I feel better about all of this though still nervous cause I hate taking medicine even if it is only clomid.  This doctor had gotten all our previous fertility tests from a year ago plus I made her copies of all the lab work I had with my naturopath - I'm very organized :)  She said everything looked great.  she's just waiting for the HSG to come in to confirm in fact that my uterus has zero abnormalities.  Come to find out from DH's SA last year he is an overachiever.  She said normal sperm count is 15 million and he had 90 million.  All the motility and mobility were over normal as well.  He was happy and then started joking with donating his sperm so we could have extra income lol.  So we just talked about basic treatment clomid vs letrozole.  So if I take clomid I will take estrodial with it to support the uterine lining.  If I happened to be pg and not know it clomid would not hurt a baby but if I take letrozole it could cause birth defects.  So after I voiced my concerns to her she said maybe I should go with clomid even though I was leaning towards letrozole.  If I took letrozole she'd have me take a pg test beforehand to confirm I wasn't pg. She said we could time intercourse, trigger shot so we know for sure when I O, or IUI.  I've never done a trigger shot so I'm not really sure if I'd rather time sex or not.  So it was left that I call her when my flow starts in Feb on CD1.  They would also do 1 U/S to monitor how my body is responding to the drug.  If there were more than 3 or 4 follicles we'd probably cancel the cycle to avoid multiples.

So after all this I'm now convinced it's just taking longer to conceive because we are older this time.  We can probably afford 3/4 cycles this route and then stop and I'd be at peace and still confident it would still happen just not on my time schedule which is fine.  I'm really happy with life right now and don't feel stressed about this.  It's nice to feel peace.  It's been a long time coming.

  • @vlagrl29 Glad things went well!!! Did they do an initial U/S and BW or was this just for a consultation?
  • Just consultation @ndz2018 - no more testing is needed because I've had it all done and since we are all healthy and nothing is off she doesn't think we need more thank god!!  I told DH before the appt I'm done with testing - no more blood work!!  She said most of the time abnormalities in the uterus can be seen on an HSG so once the hospital faxes that to her she will double check it.  No saline sono needed.  She said with C/S usually the scar tissue is on the outside of the uterus and may adhere to other things outside the uterus - rarely is it inside the uterus and it's usually more of a problem in the tubes but mine are clear as day!   Totally unexplained here! lol but I actually think that is a good thing.  I'd rather have that than have to get some sort of invasive treatment.  I'm not up for that.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 glad your appt went well I agree with you I think that it's just harder bc we are older I'm also unexplained. Hopefully you just need a little help and it will happen.
  • Yeah I never thought I’d be doing IVF, trust me but here I am... and about to get surgery to remove a septum I didn’t know I had. Pre-op app is Jan 17th I’m going to ask how long he’ll want me benched for, I’m really hoping it’s just a month but who knows it may be 2:(
  • @ndz2018 I would have been willing to move on to ivf had I have had coverage but I wasnt willing to go into debt over a maybe. Your so lucky yours is covered.
  • @Labluver2 Guess they have to compensate for the sh*tty salary!! I wish I could Give my unused rounds away if I don’t need them, wouldn’t that be awesome?!?
I have a few left over unopened meds from my stim that I plan to donate back to the clinic if they take it.. I hope it will be helpful to someone else In a financial situation. I thought about it and IF we did do another ER all the meds would be covered like this round so I’m gonna call tomorrow to see if they take donations.
  • @ndz2018 I'm glad you have coverage for Ivf cause you need it.

  • And my dh is literally googling info on sperm banks. This has really gone to his head. I told him to not even entertain the idea until I'm pregnant.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 How much money do you actually make donating sperm? I know Friends who donated their eggs in their 20s and made like
    $5,000 a pop! I know sperm isn’t as much
  • @ndz2018 come to find out there aren't any clinics in our state. But now he's regretting not knowing this stuff when he was in his 20s.

we talked and will try clomid out next month to see how I do on it.  Good to know it doesn't cause birth defects if you already are pg when taking it. I'm going to try and not overthink and get anxious. It's normal to be nervous about the next step right?
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 Totally normal to be normal about the next step! I hope clomid is exactly what you need and it happens the first try!!

yeah I'm in a really happy and peaceful spot right now and this bring change ya know?  Trying not to think about it.  DH asked me last night if I was excited and I said I was more nervous than excited.  I don't think he understood.  Though I am excited about this being over regardless of the outcome.  He thinks I'd be devastated if by the end of treatments I'm still not pregnant but I think I would feel a sense of relief.  The clomid only brings an extra 10-15% chance to our odds.  I told DH maybe when we are at the last cycle of medication we throw in a hail mary IUI and see what happens.

  • @vlagrl29 good luck and yes totally normal to feel nervous and anxious. I got horrible hot flashes with clomid and femera both but that was pretty much it. I got headaches and upset tummy on gonal and trigger.

AFM waiting for AF today is CD28 so should be coming soon feeling crampy on and off no spotting yet. Still wishing she won't show and I'll be preggers but I'm so used to it not happening that I just think I ovulated late and I should get AF sometime this weekend.
  • well clomid is not covered by insurance but the off brand is only $9 vs the $65 name brand.  Estrodial is covered - it's a vaginal insert that I'd only have to take days 6-12 I believe.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @Labluver2 I hope that AF doesn’t show up and you are too but i also know the feeling of disappointment, it sucks!
@vlagrl29 So Feb you start your timed intercouse, meds and monitoring?

@ndz2018 - essentially yes.  I call them on CD1 in Feb.  I'm having to talk myself into this at this point.  I am feeling my anxiety come back.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment? Vitamins/supplements?): just prenatal, tried everything else under the sun-doesn't seem to work for me.

    Rants/Raves
: People telling me I shouldn't be having children at my age.....seriously???

    Questions for the group:
Anyone else get depressed trying to conceive? lol

GTKY: What foods or natural supplements/products are you using to help TTC ??
I use Mega Foods Baby and Me prenatal vitamins-I also take extra folic acid daily.

What are you thankful for this week?
    Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • I don't understand why anyone thinks it's their business to talk about your age like that @ihope36. Screw the haters!

AFM I googled clomid. I don't normally Google anymore but that opened a new can of worms. It's a class X drug which can cause birth defects if taken while pregnant. The doc we saw yesterday said only letrozole did that. So that starts my anxiety of course. Some of you weren't on here last year when I had my loss. I don't turn a positive bfp until about 4 weeks past ovulation so I consider that late implantation. I had the HSG last year assumed I wasn't pg. next week found out I was and the following week lost it. I blamed myself for several months just on the HSG issue. Thought the ink they shot up must have hurt it.  I digress. Point being now id be afraid to take clomid for exact same reason. So I think I'll go back to my original plan of benching myself next month and start clomid in March knowing nothing is in my uterus. Of course dh wants me to clarify that with the RE about the class X issue.

  • @ihope36 Seriously? F*CK that noise! My H parents had him when his mom was 42 and his dad was 61 trust me you’re at a good age to have a baby!!

@vlagrl29  When is your O date? Maybe take a break from trying this month so this way you def know you’re not pregnant next month? At what day during your cycle do they start you on Clomid?
  • Well I started taking fertile aid CM and I've def noticed a difference in my cm so hopefully this will help. Some months it's there and other months I don't get alot. CD29 still no AF I never went over 30 days but not sure if the meds messed with my cycle guess we will see. Still feel like it's coming.
  • @ndz2018 - I don't track O currently.  I go by CM.  The egg white stuff started Monday and was still going strong last night.  We started BD on Monday night and are going to BD tonight as well.  This is my FW for sure.

  • I also decided as I run out of supplements I don't really need to take I'm going to stop them.  I'll still take PNV, fish oil, coq10, vit D but everything else I'm going to stop.  I just don't think I need all the extras at this point.  I'm kinda done with over supplementing.  I have been putting off that last blood draw my naturopath wants me to do.  I'm feeling over it all.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @vlagrl29 I def feel you I'm done over thinking it. I'll continue what I'm doing but I'm not adding anything else just prenatal, vit D, coq10 and the cm aid. My cycles are always normal my tubes are clear there is no reason I shouldnt get pregnant. I'm a pretty healthy eater and I workout almost every single day. I have a few trips planned Mexico in April and Disney in October.

  • @Labluver2 - just hearing about all the great sperm dh has and my egg quality and quantity being great just makes me think we don't need all the extras. Prob never did. I really want to give it our all this month. And what's another month at this point? It will be weird abstaining next month but I feel better going with my gut.
