How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally?
Better food and nausea wise but still can randomly hit, especially when a smell is involved.
Ive not felt necessarily crappy last few days but maybe more of a tightening. Trying to remember from last time. I’m showing faster being a STM so I’m sure it’s just because of that.
Rants/Raves? Vents?
Just that my my ability to exercise right now is not where I want it to be or can do and it’s hard for me as I’m super fit and usually work out 5-6 times a week. I’m hoping I’m a few weeks I can resume. I’m really nervous about getting back to where I was after baby.
Any appointments this week?
My genetic blood draw Friday. 6 vials!!!
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories?
Honestly, no I don’t recall! I only had one serious boyfriend and a few short lives ones before I met hubby at 20.
Actually, with DH it wasn’t really a date but the first night we realized we liked eacother, it was a group hang and it was a few weeks after he had been dumped. We decided to leave our friends house and just park a street over and talk/make out haha. About 10 minutes later the friend drove by, realized we were there and turned around. He had been looking for us and made up an excuse that he was going to get food. It was 2am hahaha. The next day he asked my DH what his intentions were with me LMAO. He had a bit of a crush on me as well.
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10wk 1d. This week baby is "Stan the Strawberry" DH has decided to give the baby a weekly name that matches the fruit of the week.
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? OK. A bit anxious about my second appointment on Tuesday... PGAL brain is no fun. I'm hoping for good news Tuesday that everything is progressing normally. Good for my peace of mind... Ill have my third US 2-3 weeks later for the NT scan- though it'll be a whole other bag of worms to worry about....
Rants/Raves? Vents? I'm happy for the new year- but life is busy as always. So pretty neutral now.
Any appointments this week? Tuesday!
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? No, but I guess that is good?! I'm curious to hear about everyone else's though.....
9 weeks 4 days. Today baby is the size of a tater tot! That’s a fun one
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally?
Feeling a lot better than I’ve been. Nausea is nearly non existent and I’m feeling a tiny bit less tired every day. Emotionally - PGAL brain sucks so, even after a great US two weeks ago, I’m starting to get very nervous for the next one.
Rants/Raves? Vents?
Just wish I could chill out and trust that this baby is doing well in there!
Any appointments this week?
Nope, not until 1/19. Doing cell free dna and carrier tests that day too.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories?
I met DH at 18 so not much time for a ton of other first dates!
@scottishlass1213 good luck with the blood draw! Eik. 6 vials. No matter how much I get poked and prodded- I just can't get used it to.
@bridgetkoch I'm sorry about PGAL brain... its the same for me. With every good thing I get excited and think it will ease my fears... but then it wears off quickly and I just start thinking it could all go wrong. I'm trying to be positive but its hard!
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 11 wk 3 days ( lego action figure, donut hole)
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? PRetty good! Found the heart beat today after not being able to find it for a couple days. So glad to have the doppler!
Rants/Raves? Vents? Feeling pretty good the last few days. Coming up on being able to tell people but think I'm gonna wait until we have our first ultrasound.
Any appointments this week? Two! One on Wednesday with a genetic counselor to decide what kind of genetic testing I will do, and one on Thursday to find the heartbeat with the doppler since last time I was there at 10 weeks they couldn't find it. Not as worried about that since I have already found it on my own now (I hadn't been able to at my last appt)
@scottishlass1213 that is a LOT of blood. I have defintely gotten more used to being poked with needles throughout my pregnancy but that is a lot.
@bridgetkoch I hear you on the chilling out. I haven't had an ultrasound yet and its killing me! So hard to just have faith.
@jchpg my hubs always rolls his eyes at me when I say that the ultrasound is half worry half excitement! I am always partially worried that something is wrong when I go in.
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally?
I called my doctor and got Diclegis on Friday and it has made a huge difference. I ate dinner tonight for the first time in a week and I’m hopeful it’s going to stay down. So physically I’m better, just wish I had more energy.
I was good emotionally until I read 7 vials of Blood. Is that standard? I have my testing on Thursday and I wish I would have asked more questions. Excited to make sure the little strawberry is okay!
Rants/Raves? Vents?
My husband has been wonderful about taking DS and playing with him. And I don’t feel like I’m showing him enough appreciation because I’m exhausted. I’m also not doing as much yoga as I’d like. I’m used to doing at least 5 days a week and 2 hot power flows. Now I’m lucky to make it twice a week. Hoping I get back to it once I’m feeling better.
Any appointments this week?
Yes! Thursday for check up and DNA/genetic testing.
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10w tomorrow. Strawberry or blackberry.

How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? Better. My parents had the kids for a week, and I just got them back today. It was so nice being able to sleep soundly for those nights.

Rants/Raves? Vents? Rave: today we were given a queen bed from a coworker. I finally got the full story from her dh. They bought it, and decided about 10days after the return/exchange period that they wanted a king. So it was less than $500 difference to trade it in vs buy the king outright. So I have a less than 8month old temperpedic bed. Pretty stoked.

Any appointments this week? Nope. Nothing until Jan 20 something.

GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? It was a blind date, and no one expected it to go anywhere even before we met.

I had been putting in 40 hr weeks as the umpire lead for a month, so my boss bought us dinner Friday night. He grabbed like 100+ chicken nuggets. Well he left the e trash in his car over night, and brought them out for lunch Sat. So Saturday night, my roommate and I are getting ready to go and I start to feel like complete shit. I tried to backout but the guys were all ‘it can’t be that bad’, so I went. I ended up losing everything I had ever eaten as soon as we parked. Like I didn’t even manage to get my seatbelt off before I threw the door open and lost it. We then got Cold Stone, and saw a movie. I slept through the movie, and had to leave several times to empty my stomach.

Best part is that on Monday a different room mate was in a new group project and one guy was all ‘my roommates had the WORST blind double date Saturday.’ He we on to describe exactly what had happened on my date. The group work dude did at least mention that his roomies admitted to ‘we didn’t think she was serious, or that it would be that bad. So it’s our own fault.’

How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? Today my fetus can fit on the face of a watch. 9+6
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? Physically I'm feeling pretty gross. I feel fat, bloated, nauseated, exhausted, and have broken out all over the place. Emotionally I'm doing great. I'm glad I haven't had any mood swings to speak of, and I'm really lucky to have the husband that I do. He's supportive, and always willing to do anything that's asked of him.
Rants/Raves? Vents? I took a different prenatal this morning, and all day I've had the absolute WORST burps. They taste so bad it makes me gag. I won't take that one again. On the other hand, a friend gave me her Diclegis left over from her pregnancy, and it has helped a ton. I also got to hang out with her baby today for a while, and that made me feel better about the fact that I'm about to have one of my own. The little bugger was a lot heavier than I thought, though. I'm going to need to work out my arms before I'm due.
Any appointments this week? Not until the 15th. I'm not covered on insurance for the NT testing, so I guess I'm going to skip it. I'm not totally comfortable leaving that up to fate, but I'm trying to talk myself out of my paranoia.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? I've never really had a "first date" at least not since high school. I tend to date people that I am already friends with that sort of morph into a relationship. The first night I spent with my husband was when we had been friends for about 5 years. We had been hanging out at his place watching movies and playing Guitar Hero. When I went to leave we found that we'd had a freak cold snap and were completely iced in. I stayed the night, and the rest is history. We sort of count that as our first date, though it wasn't meant to be a date at the time. That was 8 years ago.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
@derbysquirrel what prenatal is giving you gross burps? I'm taking prenatal DHA and I am CONVINCED its making my vag smell worse. prenatal vitamins suck ass with all the damn side effects! lol
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10 weeks - strawberry — where is everyone getting the fun comparisons??
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? Tired, nauseous, moody. My workouts suck but I remember that from last time. Just trying to give myself a break.
Rants/Raves? Vents? Im so glad the holidays are over!! And we just found two extra babysitters!!
Any appointments this week? i need to call to change drs so I’m not sure when they’ll want to see me.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? Not a first date but in high school my boyfriend went to kiss me but he forgot to put the car in park! We drove over the curb and almost hit a light post!
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10w6d, strawberry/lime
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? Nausea has gotten much better, it’s now just slightly annoying instead of making it difficult to get through the day. I’m still SO tired and feel like I can never get enough rest. Emotionally, I don’t really feel like this pregnancy is “real” yet. We still haven’t announced to anyone besides our DD, this is the farthest into a pregnancy I’ve gotten without telling pretty much anyone.
Rants/Raves? Vents? Nope.
Any appointments this week? No.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? I’ve been on some pretty awful first dates, but no funny or embarrassing stories have come from them.
@SmashJam CitraNatal is the brand. It was one that I got in my Ob Gyn "swag bag" as a sample. I've been taking NatureMade +DHA, but I didn't like the fishy taste, so I was trying one of my alternates. I'm not 100% certain that the prenatal was at fault, but I don't have any other likely culprits, and it was the one thing I did differently yesterday. Either way, since it was only a sample pack it is easy to just not take those again.
@scottishlass1213 I'm also pretty anxious about my post baby body. I've already gained a fairly significant amount of weight due to hunger causing severe nausea, and my lack of workout ability. I have always been a fit/healthy weight, but I put on weight very easily, and it has always taken diligence to maintain my physique. I'm afraid that my pregnancy will take me from 125 to 175 and I won't be able to take it back off. The idea of gaining weight causes me a lot of anxiety.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
Y'all I get surprise ultrasound on wednesday! I was referred to MFM to talk about testing options because of the heart condition my daughter was born with. I assumed that they would do the one with the ultrasound, but when I found out they wouldn't even consider it until I went to my appt wednesday (almost 12 weeks) I had a mild freak out, that I might never get one. The scheduler and I finally understood each other and she said she'd talk to the genetic counselor today to see what she would recommend, and she called back to say my ultrasound is at 8:45am wednesday before the meeting with the genetic counselor. I am so stoked. It will be my first one this pregnancy so it will be nice to see the little donut hole finally!
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? Currently 10w5d - 10 weeks was a strawberry, need to look up how big he/she will be on Wednesday at 11 weeks!
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? I am feeling OK! My nausea subsided last week and I was freaking out, however it's back (since I haven't been as diligent about taking B6) so that is comforting.
Rants/Raves? Vents? The genetics lab sent my Panorama results to my doctor's office on Friday and again today. I went in this morning but my doctor hadn't received it. The reception people are trying to track down the fax, but I just know this means I won't hear until at least tonight or tomorrow night when my doctor finally receives the results and has time to e-mail them to me. Very frustrating because I know they are out there and the people on the phone at the genetics lab can see the sex but cannot tell me. I just want to know that and of course that it's healthy!
Any appointments this week? No I met with my midwife last week and don't see her again until February. I will have a 12 week ultrasound next week to make sure everything is progressing for end of 1st tri, since I once had a MMC at the end of the 1st tri (before my two boys).
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? Once when I was living in Poland I went on a date with an Italian guy. He made me dinner at his house and was showing me pictures on his computer and there were some of his naked ex-gf (you couldn't see anything but her butt I think) and he was all "oh North Americans are so prudish about sex, what's the big deal about a penis" etc... except he kept pronouncing it pen-iss which I found funny, especially cuz he kept saying that word somehow. Gosh I had blocked that one out lol.

With DS I guess I just naively thought things would bounce back like automatically and I had a tough time for a while. I gained 40lbs which I know is normal and I got most of it off quickly.
Then I got really into fitness and got some certifications and teach a class so now it’s added pressure to try to stay as toned as possible so I can come back even quicker.
Hugs to all the PGAL ladies. @bridgetkoch@jchpg @jchpg I love the fruit name of the week! @scottishlass1213 The workouts are really hard to cut back on. I was a regular runner and I'm already cut back to just walking. I remember in my last pregnancy that I was able to up it a little in the second tri, but by 7-8 months I was too big and heavy and my joints would ache with the high impact. The great thing about long walks is that it's a really easy thing to continue post-baby. I would take my DS for long walks every day of maternity leave. It really soothed him, got me out of the house and burned off that baby weight pretty fast! Plus you'll be getting upper body workouts moving that LO around. @amac12999 So glad that you're feeling better. Second tri is around the corner, hopefully your energy levels will bounce back soon. And yes, the first blood draw is a crazy amount of blood. But, I don't remember any more big blood draws the rest of pregnancy, so that's the good news! @princesslockness Sweet score on the bed and the kiddo free sleep for a week! @Smashjam Congrats on the US and good luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 11+5 Strawberry
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? I think the first tri haze and exhaustion might slowly be lifting. I feel good today both physically and emotionally for the first time since my BFP.
Rants/Raves? Vents? We just got over a bad stomach flu. DS was puking from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning. He was up from midnight on Saturday night. I was up with him from 12-3:30. Then I had to get SO to take over because all of a sudden the stomach flu hit me. I was down all day Sunday, but luckily my SO escaped it and took our son all day and let me rest. I thought I'd have to call out on Monday, but I woke up Monday morning feeling like a new person. It was so weird (and great) how fast I got over being sick.
Any appointments this week? Blood draw and genetic screening on Thursday. Yuck.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? I had been talking to a guy for awhile and finally went out on a date with him. I don't think it was our first date, but maybe our second date that he told me he loved me. I, clearly, did not return the sentiment. And then I never heard from him again.
@westphilly@scottishlass1213 This is my first. Any trip/tricks to keeping with with workouts? I spent 2017 getting in the best shape of my life and scared to loose it...
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10 weeks today Strawberry size
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? Exhaustion is real. In the last 2-3 weeks I have become the lightest sleeper, which is completely new to me as I used to be able to sleep though pretty much anything. Its driving me crazy. The bloat is real, hair ties have saved my jeans.
Rants/Raves? Vents? Raves: DH took me on a spontaneous date night to a fancy Brazilian Steak house. Big deal for him he doesnt really enjoy expensive food, me on the other hand I will pay an embarrassing amount of money for good food. Date nights are my love language. Rants: Give me my sleep back!!!!
Any appointments this week? Not until nest week, Jan 16th.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? The only one I cant think of happened when I was 20. I dated a guy though most of highschool and after the first year of college we broke up. We were from the same town and I hadn't seen him all summer. This cute from the next town over had been hanging out with the same group as me and finally asked me to go to a dance with him. We get there and I immediately bump into my ex who proceeded to get drunk and kept talking to me the whole night. When I finally told him I needed space and left and blew up my phone all night. My date was super unimpressed and we never really went out again.
@jchpg@SmashJam thanks ladies! We will get through this. Counting down the end of the first tri in hopes I really will chill out then!
Also @SmashJam@derbysquirrel I have been taking a prenatal called Mother to Mother Nutrients with omega 3 fish oil DHA, EPA, DPA and no fishy smell or taste in my opinion. I’ve had no issues getting them down with nausea and super human smell I buy from Amazon.

Rants/Raves? Vents? I work in a male dominated construction industry, and I really need to be careful how hard I push myself etc... but, I am not telling anyone about the pregnancy until 14 weeks... so it is tough to not look like a wimp.
Any appointments this week? Next Thursday the 18th.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories? nope, cant say I do.
@alinafed did you get your tests results yet? I would have been going nutty too knowing that the results were out there and you couldn't get the answers you want!
@westphilly sorry you were sick- but awesome that you are getting better AND feel like the pg exhaustion is ending... mine is still full force- but you give me hope there is an end in sight!
@danna_lyn- try earplugs! Ive always been a super light sleeper and now its even worse... because IF something wakes me up- it also means Im going to notice my bladder is full and will have to get up. UGH. Ive been sleeping with earplugs in the last few days and its helping a bit. It takes some time to get used to, but its totally worth it!
@scottishlass1213 - Eik- MD in August, scary. I used to live there and am happy I'm not there now... with the hot summer and pg in mind. Its still humid here- but not nearly as bad.

It's a healthy baby girl! I have two boys so this is totally unexpected but the best news!
@alinafed Congrats on the news about your baby girl! So exciting!
@danna_lyn It's so hard to motivate to work out. I've been derailed so many times in the past few weeks because of stomach bug, toddler sleeplessness, and general holiday madness. I also changed my priorities. I had to cut back on running because it made me puke every time. Now, my goal is to get 10,000 steps in every day, rather than one good morning workout. I'm often too tired still in the morning even after a good long sleep. So, I get up and walk for a little bit on the treadmill and then try to get walks in throughout the day. I walk a lot anyway, so adding this in isn't too hard and spaces out the effort over the whole day. It's hard to lower your standards, but have faith that you WILL get it back. It seems like such a long time from now, but it will fly by and we'll have newborns who turn into toddlers before we know it! So, give yourself a break this year. Your body is doing a lot of other hard work!

I also work in a male dominated field (oil). I totally understand not wanting to make yourself stick out, but please be careful and take up for yourself. I actually already told both of my bosses (men) and they have been much more understanding that I ever thought. Both have children and have been very thoughtful.

9w5 days. Think said bottlecap today.

Nope, not until 1/19. Doing cell free dna and carrier tests that day too.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories?
I met DH at 18 so not much time for a ton of other first dates!
@bridgetkoch I'm sorry about PGAL brain... its the same for me. With every good thing I get excited and think it will ease my fears... but then it wears off quickly and I just start thinking it could all go wrong. I'm trying to be positive but its hard!
10 weeks 4 days today. The size of a strawberry

CitraNatal is the brand.

I'm also pretty anxious about my post baby body.

10 weeks - I think it’s a strawberry. Pregnancy brain is killing me.
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally?
Tired. Just tired.
Rants/Raves? Vents?
Just tired. Lol.
Any appointments this week?
Go in for harmony testing next week. Had appt last week.
GTKY: Do you have any embarrassing or funny first date stories?
Ive only ever been on a couple first days. They all went well.
Then I got really into fitness and got some certifications and teach a class so now it’s added pressure to try to stay as toned as possible so I can come back even quicker.
@jchpg I love the fruit name of the week!
Also @SmashJam @derbysquirrel I have been taking a prenatal called Mother to Mother Nutrients with omega 3 fish oil DHA, EPA, DPA and no fishy smell or taste in my opinion. I’ve had no issues getting them down with nausea and super human smell
im hoping once I take back my class in a couple weeks that I get back in a groove.
How big is baby this week? Any fun comparisons? 10w 3days- strawberry
How are you feeling? Physically and/or emotionally? My morning sickness is night sickness. Seems like 3:00 on, I am worthless.

@westphilly Thank you for the sweet reminder!! Sometimes it hard to remember because cant see it, but our bodies are working so hard right now.
@jchpg That is an awesome tip!! I appreciate it!
