Overfeeding

Hello moms! My daughter is in daycare full-time and I'm worried about overfeeding her. As of now, she is dropped off at 8 AM, picked up at 5:30 PM and we send her with 3 5-6 oz bottles, 2 tbs of rice cereal and 2 tbs of pureed fruit/veggies. She is not due for her next checkup until the end of the month but I would love to know what other moms with kids in daycare do.

TIA

My daughter is in daycare full time as well, from 7:30 until about 4. She will generally take 5-6 ounces from a bottle (of breastmilk). I send her with four 6 ounce bottles. She only drinks 3. Our daycare recommended sending an extra every day in case of oddities (growth spurt or baby refusing bottle during 1 hour window after warming) or accidents (bottle spills etc.). She’s never used her 4th bottle. I just started sending a jar of baby food too.

What makes you concerned about overfeeding? Does your LO generally indicate when they are done with a feeding? My daughter often leaves an ounce or so in the bottle. She’s a good eater and it sounds like we send a similar amount to what you describe- yet my LO is only 25th percentile for weight so I’m not concerned about overdoing it!
