@onesmallcoconut Well Kendall Jenner wore a Paris Hilton outfit for her 21st bday, so Paris must be making a comeback
(I fully realize I need a life )
How does one keep ^^^^ that dress in place?! I'm sorry this is off topic but I never wore a dress like that and can't get past the logistics of how it works.
I usually don't tell people that i don't like pets. I have when houses smell like pets, when there is pet hair all over, or having pets kick me or jump on me. I also don't understand begging to be responsible for something that never takes care of itself. I can't stand when people corner me to show me 8000 pics of their dog. Though I'm not all that interested in other people's kids pictures.
@gildah we have the same approach to ear piercing. Kid needs to want it and be able to care for it.
@sandbar517 adding to your mommy /daddy uo. I hate when people talk to you about their parents and say "mom is going to..." or " I just talked to dad and..." they are not my parents, use the word my. My mom is going to... Or I just talked to my dad. It drives me bonkers for reasons I just don't even know.
I also love my dogs even though during this blizzard they feel the need to roll in the snow while I'm standing outside in my house coat waiting for them to do their business. And as a child I loved my cat, but I also trained him like a dog because I wanted a dog so
I also can't find who says they don't mind the cold, but I'm the same it doesn't bother me. I let the dogs out the other morning didn't even realize it was all that cold until we got a call that school would be delayed because it was - 30° without a windchill factor. I realized maybe it was a little cold when both of vehicles refused to start and we had to call a coworker to pick us up for school.
@jhysmath yes!!! Can't stand when people use mom as a name. Also, can't stand when people refer to me as mom. As in, at the doctor's office, "mom can stand right here". If you're taking to my kids, say your mom. If you're talking to me say my name or say you.

+1 for this!!!!!! It is seriously so annoying. I'll even try to correct them by repeating it as a question "oh so YOUR mom is going to", for example. It's just weird and annoying lol
@jhysmath I hate that too! It makes me oddly uncomfortable. Your mom is not my mom.
I do work in a field with parents and children as clients so I sometimes say "my mom" when referring to a case and sometimes people are like, your mom did what?! And I have to clarify.
@JNCPro3130 - I had a sorority sister who wore a dress like that to a social one time. She used double sided tape. It did not hold up well after a few drinks and dancing

Yaaasssss!!!!!! I can’t stand anyone but my own child calling me mom! I’m an adult who’s personhood did not die when I gave birth!
My UO is that I like "randoms" and "drive bys" posting on hdbd. I love seeing those pictures and how everyone has different sizes and shapes. I love seeing what everyone is wearing too. I think the more pictures, the better.

I don’t really care if they post but that’s just it. I DON’T CARE haha. it means more to me to see how people I’m familiar with are changing every week. I have an image already in my mind to compare it to. I can picture where @mileswithmyles takes her HDBD every week (DS’s room?) and how @ivyvines6 always looks super serious haha.
@crazyliblady I love the feeling of nostril hair freezing
@nanifrog I'm a ftm but I'm already annoyed with people saying "how are you doing mama" or the US tech saying "mama do you need help getting" right now the only time I'm mama is when dh is talking to our dogs and that's the only time he's papa.
@jenbabymama I like seeing everyone's bump pictures too though I don't post mine. It's great to see the are other bumps like mine though I still don't think mine is as bumpy as everyone else's. I did have one maintenence man at school day Geez are your pregnant or something? I told him no because I felt it was rude and there was a student there and I'm not telling the kids just yet. DH found him yesterday and said he needed to talk to him and the maintenence guy was very apologetic and then dh told him I actually was pregnant but don't want the kids knowing. So I guess maybe I do have a bump?

I guess I just don't see the appeal of doing this if you aren't a participating member. I'd rather show my bump photos to friends and family who will share in my joy over shoving it the cashiers face at McDonalds.
jenbabymama@lincbeesmom@suchaglencoco I take the randos posting in hdbd as just another outlet for them to love themselves and expect everyone else to love and adorn them with compliments. I would really love to post more in that thread but I never remember. I think subconsciously I forget on purpose because I don't want to document this pg because I have been so miserable. I know I will regret that later.
My UO is I don't like talking about being pg ever. I don't find compassion in people asking how I am. I know they just want to give me advice or talk about themselves, or more so, don't want to hear the truth. I am sick of talking about it. I'd actually rather talk about the weather. In reality I would rather talk about my dogs and show 8000 pictures to someone lol @nanifrog
@justsuzie - I think you should take a few even if you don't post them or show them to anyone else. I really regret not taking more pictures especially during my first pregnancy.
@ivyvines6 I think you tagged the wrong person for the bathtime/pregnancy thing, but I was going to comment on it anyway. I think it was @poppy0419 who wrote the original UO? I agree that I do bedtime every night, since MH works evening shift, but since I've been pregnant, he's been doing their baths during the day so I don't have to do it by myself at night. Bending over the tub and lifting their little 30 pound butts out of the bathtub was too hard for me with the nausea at the beginning and now it's just awkward with my belly. So, I wouldn't say I use my pregnancy as an excuse not to do it, but I legitimately have a harder time doing baths because of it. What else? Paris's ring is ugly, and I couldn't give two fly farts about her. That dress would NOT work for me in any way, shape or form! LOL I am by and large a dog person, but after mine passed away in September, it's been a bit of a relief to not have to deal with him. I feel terrible saying that, but he was old and peed on our carpet all the time, had anxiety and was generally very needy. I find myself 'awwwwwwing' when I see dogs on TV or all the adorable pics on here of your kids with your dogs and wanting another one, but then I come to my senses and realize now is probably the worst time to do something like get a new dog. I'm sure I'm missing other things, I'll edit later if I remember any of them.
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
@sandbar517 "flying farts" is such a funny/cute way to make that not a cursing phrase. I am going to need to think of ways to clean up my language. That one will be a keeper
@jenbabymama I don't know that I find much joy in comparing bodies of other women I don't know, but I look at it like @justsuzie that they don't want to interact with us, they just want people to like their picture on the internet. They don't want to share with us about their pregnancy, they want attention. And I'm trying to find a different word other than comparing, but coming up with nada. Not implying that you are judging them, but seeing different sizes or shapes does not make me feel better about this huge bump I'm rocking I guess is what I'm trying to say.
agree with @justsuzie and @cups4.... I do not compare myself to them, because I know everyone's bodies/pregnancies are different. I like to see the regular posters because I love seeing their progress and I like putting a face to the name. Drivebys on HDBD just want attention, and since I am petty I won't give into that shit. lol
DS doesn’t really have a “bedtime routine” that DH would take over. I brush his teeth but he pretty much gives himself his own bath and he usually falls asleep next to me or dh when we’re watching tv. Not a textbook bed time but he gets enough sleep and we don’t have to fight him so it’s all good and pregnancy doesn’t interfere at all.
I really think my UO comes from me being bitter that even if I couldn’t do it I still would have to. Im really jealous of people who’s husbands are home in the evenings. DH works hard and has a great job but dammit if it doesn’t interfere with regular schedules. Plus when I had a job, we didn’t have a day off together for a year.
I'm agreeing with most of this weeks' UOs except the pet stuff. I love my cat so much. MH and I probably love him a little more than is rational, and I'm wondering how he's going to react once he's no longer our surrogate baby.
@Poppy0419I'm a little late replying to this, but our cat actually comes running to the door every time we get home! I think it depends a lot on the personality of the cat. Ours is pretty sociable and wants to be around us all the time.
I also think cats sometimes get a bad rap as standoffish because they tend to get attached to specific people and not care about anyone else. Probably a lot of our friends think our cat is unfriendly because he doesn't really want to cuddle or be held by anyone except us. But I kind of like being special
@nanifrog omg yes I hate being called "Mom" by random people. People are doing it all the time now that I'm pregnant and I find it so irritating. I know they are trying to be cute but it is just weird.
I don't have a kid to be doing bedtime for, but have to confess (since it's Friday) that I am one of the people using their pregnancy to get out of doing stuff. I actually feel pretty normal right now but enjoy having an excuse not to heave my ass out of the couch, and instead to make MH go fetch me tea
I guess I don't mind the cold, but it really makes it hard to get out with LO's. I am already dreading doing it with 2 next year, at least DS will be another year old but still, it gives me slight anxiety to think of lugging everything 2x and buckling 2 car seats in the cold. One reason I don't like the cold is the dry air, SO has been having a bad flare of dry skin and he's constantly itching himself everywhere, including his balls!!! I hate the sound of someone scratching their body, it makes my skin crawl.
The cold is the worst! It’s so hard to keep my boys inside. They need to get out and run. I’m taking them out tomorrow no matter how cold it is! @bwow615 I agree about scratching! I hate the sound. The other sound that drives me crazy is nose sucking. Blow your nose! Don’t suck the snot back in.
@justsuzie I didn’t take regular bump pictures my first pregnancy. I wouldn’t say I regret it. However, I do try to remember how big I was at this stage last pregnancy. No lost sleep over it though. Agree with talking about pregnancy. Every time I see anyone they ask how I’m feeling. My body feels like an 80 yr old woman but other than that, no different than if I wasn’t pregnant. Not much to talk about. I would rather talk about “normal” small talk topics but that could be because I don’t like talking about myself much.
My UO, I don't understand or like long fake nails and also don't understand how when people get pedicures that they don't request their toenails to be cut. I had an old coworker/friend who had long toenails and would not cut them. I got a manicure and pedicure today and had these thoughts, first time I've posted one of my UO's.
