Re: TTGP Grad Thread 1/4

  • How far along are you?
Supposed to be 11w +2 but noticed the dr changed it to 10w +6 based off my last ultrasound. They said it may change again when i go for my nt scan but that is the last one that would change it.

    How are you feeling?
Crampy....i can tell my ute is definitely getting bigger and making itself known. I have nausea mainly at night but i noticed when i dont have it at night i have it the following morning...like today. Ugh. I didnt have it with my 2 boys and it is rough this time. Still tired but i did get some sleep last night. Holy acne batman....i feel like a teenager again. And gassy...cant forget it, mainly because my husband keeps reminding me that he needs to go buy a gas mask. Haha

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?
Had my first appt with midwife on Tuesday which went well. After using ultrasound to find baby, she was able find the hesrtbest on the doppler. Best sound ever! NT scan is scheduled with mfm on the 18th.

    Rants/Raves?
Im finally allowing myself to get more excited about this baby. My boys are also super excited. They already want to know how big baby is this week and want to give my belly kisses. It just melts my heart.

    Questions?
Plus size maternity clothes? Where is the best place you have found them?

GTKY: What is the most embarassing song you know all the words to?
Probably all the songs from the cartoons that my kids watch. Or all of the songs from high school musical that were burned into my head when my stepdaughter was little lol.

How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? NT scan on the 13th

Rants/Raves? Rant - Why the heck did I come to work in this INSANE snow storm? Rave - I met my half-sister last night. She is awesome and also totally preggo and due in April. So on top of a brand new half-sister I have a another niece and cousin for my LO coming in a few months!!

    Questions? Maternity Bras...any recommendations?

GTKY: What is the most embarrassing song you know all the words to? Oh god...it's hard to pick the most embarrassing since I'm a glorified juke box. Also anything that some people may think is embarrassing I just think is awesome. Maybe "Call Me Maybe"?
  • How far along are you? 13 weeks! Last week of first tri!!

How are you feeling? Eh... yesterday was great! Today I'm feeling nauseas again and of course i forgot to take anything this morning and didn't bring anything to work... hoping it gets better. Other than that I'm still so tired by the end of the day. Feeling more pressure in my lower abdomen and I think I have a bump and moved to maternity jeans already.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I had one last week. Got to here the heart beat on the Doppler! My next one is the 26th.

Rants/Raves? Mostly I just don't feel like working... I finished a big project last week so I'm being a bum this week before getting back into the swing of things.

Questions? Has anyone else gone crazy buying things already? I feel like we may already have all the big things covered thanks to Christmas and after Christmas sales!

GTKY: What is the most embarassing song you know all the words to? It's probably most embarrassing that I don't know all of the words to any song. Seriously. My head must not have enough space for song lyrics... MH on the other hand is the exact opposite.

  • @busymommy23 yes to the acne! It's so annoying! And I hardly ever wear makeup and now I found when I try to cover it up it just ends up getting worse!!! I was in motherhood the other day and they had a pretty good selection of plus size maternity. I honestly haven't looked anywhere else.

@nimmle so exciting about your half sister and niece! That will be so fun getting to know each other during this exciting time for both of you! How perfect is that timing?!

  • @MrsMiller8588 It's awesome. We are already excited about the prospect of playdates, especially since we only live like a 5-10 minute walk from each other.

sorry! I wasn't logged into my account when I posted this a few minutes ago! Apologies, ladies!

How far along are you? 11w 5d

How are you feeling? Sleepy! The fatigue kicked in at 4w and hasn't shown any sign of relenting!

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Midwife appointment last week, nothing again until the 24th.

Rants/Raves? The cold! The snow! It won't stop! I want to be somewhere (anywhere!) that's warm!

Questions? Have you purchased/considered purchasing a fetal doppler for home? Any thoughts or recommendations on certain brands?

GTKY: What is the most embarrassing song you know all the words to? Justin Bieber's Baby.
  • @nimmle how exciting!!

@donutsprinkle I have an angel sounds doppler, it was like, somewhere between 20 and 30 bucks and i bought it from fetaldoppler.com , I think. This is the earliest I have ever been able to find the heartbeat on my own (11 weeks) but others found it earlier.  I don't hate it, does the job!

  • How far along are you? 11 weeks today!

How are you feeling? Pretty ok, still nauseous in the morning, random days of headaches that last ALL DAY but thinking that might be related to me not eating enough or having enough water at some point and then i can never get back to normal. Trying to be better with water.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Jan 11 just for the doppler, but then sometime in teh next week for the NT scan. Still no word from them I should call and bug em!

Rants/Raves? I posted this on another thread but they screwed up my NT scan appt making, midwives thought MFM was doing it, MFM thought I didn't want it and now there are no appointments, which is not acceptable. LIke really there is not one single ultrasound anywhere you could use to do an ultrasound anywhere this week? Really?

    Questions? Not yet!

GTKY: What is the most embarassing song you know all the words to? "Hold on" by Wilson Philips? The words to almost every disney cartoon song ever? And most of the frozen sound track. Also the theme songs to my sons shows, lol.

How are you feeling? Blah.  I ran out of my Diclegis (the MFM had been giving me samples).  I had asked them to call in a prescription and apparently, since it is name brand and there is no generic option, it is $90.  Um, nope.  It's basically just Unisom and B6 so I tried that last night and I've been dizzy this morning and just feel gross.  I think I will split the Unisom in half tonight and hope that helps with the fogginess in the morning.

Any recent/upcoming appointments?  I have an office appt. on 1/9 and my NT scan is on 1/12.  I should be getting the Panorama results around Wednesday of next week, hopefully.  And I think I'm going to do my 1-hour glucose test on the 15th.  I'm not looking forward to that.  I'm hoping I can keep the glucose drink down because right now it sounds awful.

Rants/Raves? Rant:  I feel like I've already ranted all over this already.  I also am super close to quitting my job.  So much BS going on right now.  I'm quitting before baby comes anyway since I'm part-time and have no maternity leave or STD and plan to SAH.  So I'm having a really hard time putting up with this crap lol.  Rave:  I was able to find the baby's heartbeat on the doppler!  I tried it last week at 9w6d and found it but it took forever.  I tried again last night and found it much faster.  Both times the HR was in the high 160's.

    Questions?  Can't think of any!

GTKY: What is the most embarrassing song you know all the words to?  That is a good question!  I'm not sure exactly...probably a Backstreet Boys song or something like that lol.

  • @busymommy23 if you stay at your current due date we will be due date buddies!  And I'm struggling with nausea as well since I haven't really dealt with it in prior pregnancies.  And the gas, ugh.  I think my husband is trying to spare my feelings because he hasn't mentioned it, but it's bad.

@nimmle how exciting!  And I've just been wearing sports bras.  Random, but I really like the ones from Walmart, I think they are Danskin brand.  That's really the only reason I go to Walmart since I really don't like that place.  But they are super cheap, like $7-$9 and pretty comfortable.  I'm a C-cup though.  They probably aren't great for people with bigger boobs.  My boobs don't get bigger with pregnancy, unfortunately.  The other place I've found comfortable bralettes is Hollister.  I'm too old for that place otherwise but I do like their bras.

@MrsMiller8588 we have pretty much everything from our other kids but that's how it was with our first baby and being due in July.  We had all the big stuff covered because of Christmas gifts from our parents.  I think I had a lot of the nursery set up at like 16 weeks lol!

@donutsprinkle I have a Sonoline B doppler.  I bought it in 2010 for my first pregnancy but I think it's still a common brand.  Back then I bought it on ebay but I'm sure Amazon has them too. It still works great!

@SmashJam ugh you are having a terrible time with this practice when it comes to ultrasounds!  Hopefully, they can make that work for you.

  • @Sarafuss yay for due date buddies. This nausea just has me so blah. I felt so lucky with my first 2 that i was hoping this would be the same but nope. Crossing my fingers that this is a girl then hahaha. Oh and I used to LOVE the backstreet boys. Total fan girl right here. Haha

@SmashJami would be calling mfm like now to see if they have any cancellations that opened up and if not, pull out mama bear and make them find an appt. It isnt your fault but youre getting screwed over. Nope...not gonna happen!

  • @busymommy23 i hear CVS has good acne patches in the Korean beauty section. My friends swear by them!

@nimmle congrats on meeting your half sis and gaining a few family members! Always exciting to have your family grow.

@SmashJam any luck getting in for an US. Sorry for the frustration on that mix up - not cool!

@Sarafuss i hear ya on work being frustrating at times! Hang in as long as possible.

@MrsMiller8588 what have you purchased or received so far? I only have 3 items so far....I’m waiting until after the 12wk mark. My sister and BIL got us a beautiful onsie set with bunnies and a matching bib for Christmas. I gave DH a sleeper to tell him about Babe and i bought one of those soft blanket/binkie holders from Carters. I can’t wait to shop!!

How far along are you? 11w2d

How are you feeling? Still feeling a bit of the “jet lag” level tired but not as bad as a few weeks ago.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Has a second appt that followed my first ultrasound. Sent to do the blood test this week but no mention of a NT scan and the next appt is Feb 1st. Need to call about that and then figure out the cost/insurance around the genetic blood screening. So confusing.

Rants/Raves? See above. Rave- first full weekend off since October and the joists season.

Questions? Is an NT scan needed of I’m doing the InformaSeq blood test??

GTKY: What is the most embarassing song you know all the words to? Oh gosh. Backstreet Boys!
  • @And846 I would say yes and no that the NT scan is needed.  Just depends on you really.  Personally, I say yes because my NT scan (with my third baby) showed an increased nuchal fold but my Panorama came back low risk for all of the chromosomes they tested.  That’s why we are doing both the NT scan and Panorama this time.  But many people don’t do either test (or just one or the other) and that’s fine too.  Just depends on what you want.  My MFM office offers all of the testing to every patient but at other practices you may need to request those tests and some docs consider the NT scan unnecessary.
