Symptoms Week of 1/1

Re: Symptoms Week of 1/1

  • @Lelo2006 I kept getting UTIs when I was doing fertility treatment, and was suggested D-Mannose + cranberry extract to prevent them. Mine came as a daily pill, and I bought them on Amazon. I haven't had problems yet since I was pregnant, but planned on taking it if I did rather than repeatedly taking antibiotics!

  • @wildtot me too... beans, garlic, onions and cheese. My poor husband and child.

My DS, asked me if I poo pood yesterday...
  • I am feeling much better this week, definitely starting to get into that awesome second trimester period where you feel GREAT.  This is probably TMI, but holy crap my nipples have never bee itchier in my entire life.  Does anyone else have this?  My boobs went from super sore to just itching all the time.  I didn't have this with my first pregnancy, it's awful!

  • Constipation sucks. Come on, body!
  • The boob pain has returned with a vengeance. Also stretch marks. I don’t even know how or why....
  • @wildtot Same! Had El Pollo Loco lastnight for dinner.. Had seconds of rice and beans only. My mom made 7 layer bean dip on New Years Day (tradition), I think I ate half of it.

In the words of my great grandma:
"Beans, beans, the magical fruit. The more you eat, the more you toot. The more you toot, the better you feel. Eat beans for every meal!"

  • @stlmegs I've had the itchy boobs! Different bras/sweaters make it worse. I have a stretch mark oil that helps a little, I think, but some days it's pretty relentless.
  • The ladies are bigger this time and super early! They got some bounce to them lol but they hurt like crazy.
  • @wildtot @TheQuietThings @zombiehoohaa @busymommy23 @acunamatada May we all go on in gassy solidarity, sisters. Ya-Ya!
The flames from those candles could be pretty dangerous in our current gassy states....hahaha

  • Exhaustion when doing nothing, RLP every sneeze and insomnia with not wanting to eat or drink stuff ew

@stlmegs I’m itchy here too honestly!
  • Natural remedy for insomnia or light sleeping? Ive cut out all caffeine but I cannot sleep at all the last 2 nights. I was fine when i was off of work and not hving to set my alarm but now that we are back, i cant get back into my routine. Plus, since ds2 was sick, I know that i was sleeping lighter than usual to make sure he was ok at night but now that he is better I cant seem to get out of the light sleeping. I wake up at every little change in light or noise. I dont like taking medicine but am starting to feel zombieish...

  • Well being off my heart medication for fast heart rate didn’t last long- my rate has been 140 majority of the day at work along with shortness of breathe and palpitations. Cardiologist is starting me on a “safer” medication for remaining pregnancy- labetalol

also vague left lower back pain-
  • I have been sick with some kind of "cold" for over 2 weeks which seems to change forms every few days.   Started out Dec 17th as a sore throat and headache.  Ended up completely losing my voice for a few days.  Started to feel better Christmas and the day after but had a busy week of work and started to feel worse again.  This time with a horrible cough and then a few days later a cough and nasal congestion.  Finally I went to the doctor just to make sure it wasn't some sort of bacterial infection.  They did give me a prescription for antibiotics.  I have never been sick for this long before without getting well.

On top of this I have had little to no appetite (not nauseous, just not hungry) which is not like me at all.  My friends call me The Hobbit because I'm always thinking about where my next meal is going to come from.  I thought it was from being sick but other people have said it could be just from the pregnancy.

At it with the beans again, can’t help it! It’s all i want sometimes!
edit because i can’t spell as i eat my beans
  • The other day I accidentally let one slip in public and my bf said “Eww, it smells like baby poop in here.” So we walked off and I pretended like it wasn’t me. I was embarrassed but also thought it was sort of hilarious...
  • @hayhay93 ahahaha too funny

YES.  I swear I grew two cup sizes in as many days.

That was my first symptom last pregnancy! My dentist told me that he has always cleaned his daughter's teeth and knew she was pregnant because of bleeding/gum swelling before she even announced. So it doesn't seem too early!

    Yep i got it already
  • I started having gum swelling and bleeding around 6 weeks! @TheQuietThings
  • @busymommy23 have you tried melatonin? It is a natural supplement that can definitely help with sleep

  • @TheQuietThings yup.

I feel really embarrassed to say this: my gums are bleeding quite a bit and I know it's also because I don't floss! I swear my dentist warns me every flipping time and while I'm on top of my skin care and workouts, for example, I'm a complete mess at oral hygiene! I brush multiple times a day, don't get me wrong, but I hate flossing...I'm even lazy with my waterpick...and it doesn't help that genetically I have bad gums. I get cleanings every 4 months and it's still not great. I suck.
  • @kissableviv it’s pretty common for gums to start or bleed more during pregnancy and postpartum. It’s all the extra blood you got going on. I had gone to the dentist about 3 months pp and they tried to tell me i had gingivitis. I got a second opinion months later and nope i didn’t have it. It was all from my pregnancy. Glad i saved that money!
  • @wildtot thank you, mine bled before too though :( I know I'm prone and pregnancy is making it a bit worse. But it's motivation to get on to a routine. Gonna try oil pulling again and see if I can be consistent! I'm so ridiculous sometimes with my granola remedies LOL
  • I feel like my boobs are so massive, help they're taking over  :'(

  • Any other still breastfeeding moms feel like their supply is increasing (which I feel is odd at this point)?

My 14 month old nurses at wake up and bed time (never more than that for 2 months now) and he only nurses off my right side. I have been waking up the past couple days with an engorged right breast... it is SO weird. My left side is still empty as can be though.

  • I have been done nursing for over a year so not sure on supply while pregnant, but I have had a reoccurring dream for the last few weeks that my boobs start spraying milk while I'm in my car, in a meeting, out to dinner, or at other inconvenient places.

Which leads me to a somewhat related question, anyone who is TTM and nursed, did your milk come in earlier with baby #2 than it did with #1?
  • This is sort of random so perhaps I should ask over in the random thread, but is anyone else having trouble feeling the top of their uterus or “fundal height?” These past couple days I feel like my stomach has turned to complete mush. The only area I can feel “hardness” is super low. Like measuring only 8-9cm or so from the top of the pubic bone. Anything above that feels mushy. Now my anxiety is taking over of course. Shouldn’t it be higher at almost 14w?
  • @4deep sometimes i can feel it but not always. I try not to worry about it because my doc never checks me that way. As long as the USs look good I’m ok with the weirdness
  • @runsomewhere mine too.  I have always been a bit large given my size (my mom says it's my Italian great-grandmother), but it's getting a little absurd. (Of course DH just laughs and smiles!)
  • @wildtot you’re right. US is more accurate. I can’t wait until Tuesday at my next appt so I can hear his heartbeat again.
  • @4deep me too, I can feel that it’s there but I can’t pinpoint the fundal height. I think it’s right below my belly button where I’ve got extra pooch.
  • The headache is near migraine level today. I am going to take a bath now that D is home and try and at least dull it down some before I have my one session I am going to fight through

  • @4deep I'm a FTM so I literally just read about this last night ! I can't find it either and I'm pretty small still, not really showing unless I've eaten too much. My OB never checks me that way either but I'm looking forward to Monday when I get to see the little man again! Constantly nerve-wracking, isn't it...
  • @amylu914 your dream sounds hilarious!

My boobs are also becoming massive again. I hate it. I want my old pre-baby boobs back. 34D. Now I'm 38DD... And will probably grow more with nursing.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!

My milk did come in a day earlier with #2, but I don't know if that's common.
  • @flockofmoosen3 seriously relate. Also usually a 34D, already in a 36DD. TBH I already felt my boobs were too big so I am dreading how much larger they are going to get. I hope they go back!
