Nada. For sure not making it to midnight. My sore throat turned into a full blown cold and I'm a miserable, coughing, snot-filled mess. Pretty, right? Lol. DH and I will stay in, watch movies, eat junk food. Hoping someone does something more exciting so I can live vicariously through them!
We are going to a friend's house and leaving the kids at home with mil. Our goal is to make it until midnight, but we aren't making any promises. We do something with this group every year for new years as 2 of the husbands have birthdays today or 2 days ago, which means they also decide what we do. I'm glad this year they're doing it at one of their houses and that it's the house closest to us or we wouldn't do anything.
We are going to our friends house. They’re having a bunch of people over for games and appys. Best part is I can wear my pajamas. We will bring DD and put her to bed in their guest room at 7pm. I’m hoping to stay until midnight, but not sure I’ll make it!
Thanks @suchaglencoco and @doraleigh35! Hoping to get through the worst of this during my remaining vacation days so I'm not a zombie at work on Tuesday. Fingers crossed!!
House parties are my fav for New Year's Eve! Especially casual ones Have fun!!!
@onesmallcoconut, same. I'd rather just hang out and drink cheap beer (when not pregnant) over going out. I did send a message asking if there is a dress code for tonight along with this gif. No response yet so I'm guessing my maternity jeggings will be acceptable.
@suchaglencoco did you offer to bring your golden girl's monopoly too? We are making a prime rib for just us three, hopefully it turns out, and we will most likely watch a movie after DS is in bed and fall asleep in the middle of it. Per usual.
DH is still out of town so me and DD have a date to watch movies and go to bed earlier. I let her take a late nap so we can stay up a bit.
And inventory because I haven’t done my final counts yet because #procrastination. And DH usually handles inventory counts for me because it’s my least fav thing ever.
@charlestonchew only -10? Jk I know that's pretty cold. It's a slightly chilly -32 farenheit ( if my conversion worked.. it's -36 celsius) in Alberta today. This week has been coooooold! I'm not even sure if the fireworks are happening when it gets like this. Can't imagine being outside watching them lol
We were planning to go to sesame place but it's so cold we decided not to. I was bummed we wouldn't have plans. In the end, we went to a balloon drop at noon, then lunch, then bowling with friends. At lunch we saw another family and made plans to go over tonight. We also told or really good friends that their kid can sleep over when they go out. But now I'm so tired from bowling i want to skip the outing.
I also love new year's parties at people's houses. We used to have one every year but everyone got lame when we had kids.
We are staying in. NYE isn’t my favorite holiday. I like casual house parties but that’s about it. We bought stuff to make a good charcuterie platter and homemade pizookies for dessert. DH bought a good bottle of champagne and I might indulge in a small glass. We also got sparkling cider for me and DS. We will let DS watch one of the countdowns on Netflix before bed. I’ll probably be asleep by 10.
@onesmallcoconut I live in the midwest so I feel like I never really get used to extreme temperatures and have the worst of both worlds. We don't really have mild comfortable temps, we're either freezing cold or blistering hot.
@charlestonchew ahhh yes. That sounds similar to the weather in Ontario for Canada. Which would make sense geographically too I suppose.
We just expect winter to be a nightmare in Alberta for at least part of the season here lol. Otherwise the thing people tend to say is if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes because it will change.
@onesmallcoconut that's strange because they say that about where I live as well. Now that I'm older and I don't care about snow I long to live somewhere it's 70 all year round. I don't know if that exists.
We were supposed to be home, but after many delays our flight was cancelled today.. So going driving two hours to get close to the airport we can get out of in the morning. Staying with my sister in law watching others drink
Such a range of plans! Hope you all enjoy your new years eve! We are going to are friends house and doing fondue! I think I'll make it to midnight. Otherwise I'll sleep on the couch and then drag my hubby home after its turned 2018 lol.
Walking three blocks to a friend’s house for our annual casual potluck celebration (benefit of being in a city means I have multiple friends within a 5 minute walk of us, thankfully). I even have a couple bottles of Fre non-alcoholic champagne (it’s good if you’re looking for an occasional substitute)! Neighbors set off pretty impressive fireworks shows at midnight too, which I wouldn’t personally participate in, but they’re fun to watch from a short distance, and we can kind of see some Jersey ones over the Delaware River if it’s not too cloudy. Guessing we’ll be back in our house by 12:30am though! Also guessing next year with an 8 month old will look a little different too.
The left we were supposed to be going to was cancelled (thank god) so we are staying home. I’ll probably be up past midnight because I usually am, but outside of leftovers and sex I don’t think anything is really happening over here.
Apparwntly the Bills are going to the playoffs so MH is going to be elated all evening. Cool? Football season is going to be longer this year is all I’m getting out of this...
@ivyvines6 DH is elated here about the Bills! I’m happy for him, he’s been a fan since birth and after 17 loyal years I’m glad they got in. I’m a Steeler fan (being from Pittsburgh) and we don’t have droughts like that. Lol.
We just got home from grocery shopping at Wal Mart (we are wild and crazy, I know). We are gonna put on our fireplace, it’s -2 here, watch Netflix until about 11:30 and watch the ball drop and toast with sparkling cider. Low key, which I figure from here on out will be the case. I was never a New Years Eve fan to begin with anyway.

@SaVy_05 homemade pizza sounds delicious!
@suchaglencoco have fun and enjoy some kid free time!

We just had chinese food and will be spending the evening inside as it is like -10 outside. I'll try to stay up but we'll see.
