I'm typing this while literally sitting in a Starbucks, but I think Starbucks is ridiculous. Maple-honey-coconut-chia-tea-double- frappuccino anyone? It's just too much. How about make a decent cup of coffee? Their drip coffee is un-drinkable imo.
I saw so many people complaining that their Amazon prime or target or whatever expedited shipping didn't come on time for Christmas. How entitled did we all get suddenly to expect that you can sit around and click buttons and things should appear at your door immediately. Actual people still have to process those orders and deliver the packages. I can't imagine the logistics of hiring a billion extra people the week before Christmas because everyone thinks they only need two days to order now. If you went into an actual store the day before Christmas, would you really be surprised if they were out of stuff or there were long lines?

I can see where you are coming from but if a company advertises specific shipping details and a person places an order based on that, it should be expected that the company hold up its end of the bargain.
I don't think it's entitled to expect that a package should arrive within the timeframe that you paid for. If someone requests 2 day shipping, it should be that.
Of course, if someone goes shopping at the mall this time of year, it should be expected that there may be long lines or items out of stock. There are expectations on both sides.
@vinerie I agree their drip is vile, I do love me a Carmel brûlée latte though @matryoshkadoll my issue with the Amazon thing is, it’s not a free service, I pay for that and I expect what I am paying for. As with any service I pay for. That said I make sure and get my Christmas orders in a month or so ahead of time because I do understand things happen.
AFM: I don’t mind being on doctor ordered rest, an excuse to make DH pitch in a little more around the house and do the grocery shopping Yes please! An excuse to read and play on my lap top also yes please. We’ll see if I change my tune lol
Amazon screwed the pooch this year by dropping their contract with UPS suddenly two weeks before Christmas, like idiots, and exclusively using the USPS.
USPS works great for letters and smaller parcels, don't get me wrong, but they don't have the infrastructure or staff to deal with literally millions of larger boxes.
Our mail lady was a raging bear every time she would have to drive all the way out to our house in the sticks to deliver a box too big for our already giant mailbox, her Jeep overflowing and crammed to the gills with boxes. She'd have to make umpteen trips back to the post office to get more that wouldn't fit the first round, and she was still delivering till 8 or 9pm on Saturdays too.
Meanwhile UPS had hired tens of thousands more warehouse staff and drivers across the country, and even expanded the local distribution warehouse, in preparation for the Christmas package rush on top of the busiest year to date they've had...and they were left out in the cold literally, and likely will be laying all those people off now.
I'm glad our UPS driver told us before I'd started shopping so I could get stuff ordered and shipped earlier to make sure it all got to family out of state. And it did. I'm not going to bitch about it, but it was incredibly short sighted of Amazon imho.
My UO (maybe it should be a FFFC?) is that I hate A Christmas Story. I think it's a dumb movie and the fact that some stations play it 24 hours on Christmas I think is ridiculous. There are much better christmas movies out there..

I’ve never even seen it and have no desire to.

@hezzer78 Ha! I don't hate it and enjoy catching a little of it every year but I agree its not that good of a movie and so silly of them to play it for 24 hours.
I don't know how unpopular this UO is but I hate NYE. I foolishly agreed to go to a house party with H and I know I'm going to be falling asleep way before midnight.

@hardlyhannah 100% begins you. Tuna in water from a can is all the seafood I can/will eat.
All coffee is gross and should be destroyed. Soda is so much better tasting.
Amazon was(were?) idiots with how they handled holiday shipping&shipping this year. I’ve never seen A Christmas Story or It’s a wonderful life. No desire to see either of them.
AFM, I love drinking pickle juice. Sometimes I make H eat the pickles faster than he should just so I can drink the juice.

Sushi/seafood/fish is all disgusting. Except for tuna in a can mixed with mayo and noodles. That is the only acceptable kind.
I agree! I also now really want tuna noodle casserole!
I actually was just talking to someone about this and they were appalled. My UO is I do not think Dirty Dancing a good movie. I just do not understand why people think it is. The soundtrack is pretty good but the movie is not.
@neeraja_k I hate that ups hands of packages to the usps in some cases. I have a p.o. box and live in a rural area, so my po is closed at 11 every day and re opens at 2:45. SO if the ups doesn't get out there by 11 i won't get my package. I often don't get my packages in the estimated time, and sometimes they dont even show up! I have multiple times had a package "lost" or "returned to sender" that was never returned and ended up in my po box or came weeks later, and got a full refund so it was free.
Basically what I am saying is that i hate ups, lol, at least around here, and my post office is better at getting my shit to me, even at xmas.
It's weird when people say of their kids "stop growing!!!" I'm prompted to say this because I saw a shirt my son's size today that had "Never Grow Up" on it. It's just so weird to me. I get the sentiment, time is going fast, you'll miss these days, but the whole "stop growing" thing is a weird thing to say. (I have a friend who posts this A LOT on FB so maybe I've just seen it more than other people).
When you guys say noodles you mean like pasta noodles right not like Asian style noodles??
Never seen A Christmas Story!
Coffee is Nectar of the Gods! I don't care for Starbucks at all, their menu intimidates me! Dunkin is where it's at!
@ecwk maybe another UO Tuna Noodle Casserole is one of the worst things ever, along with any cooked tuna at that. Give me a tuna roll sushi. Or some halibut or tilapia if I’m going cooked..or cod if frying
I love seafood. I love coffee, even Starbucks. I love fall.
I think every one of my USPS packages for the past few months has come a day or 2 after the expected delivery date. Not a huge deal, but just annoying that they never deliver on a promise.
@hardlyhannah boil chopped chicken in water with poultry seasoning and bouillon. When it’s cooked, add in 2 Candace of chicken, 2 cans evaporated milk, and chopped carrots and celery. 1/2 hr before serving add in frozen peas and the egg noodles.

I cannot stomach tuna or canned seafood. I love any fresh or frozen fish or seafood though. Tuna noodle is gross, but I hate tuna and mayo. I hate coffee in general but don’t hate the bottled Starbucks caramel frapps I buy at the grocery store. I don’t have a SB within an hour of me, so I don’t have an opinion on the actual place itself. And egg noodles are wonderful in chicken noodle soup and stroganoff.
AFM: I love venison, rabbit, and most types of wild game. We eat about 100lbs of venison a year, and I rarely buy beef or pork.
We eat almost exclusively venison for our red meat, I haven't bought beef aside from the occasional flank or ribeye steaks (cause deer don't make those). I do the hunting and processing here at home, so I feel better about the finished product. Not to mention how much cheaper it is!
I used to like tuna, but all this tuna talk is grossing me out.
I can't believe I didn't vomit from all this tuna talk.

My UO: I think in 5 or 10 years we are going to look back on the LLR crazy patterned legging trend and be like, what were we thinking. I don't find them particularly flattering or slimming. I say this having bought a couple of pairs of patterned leggings (including one LLR), but I think it's going to be one of those trends where our kids will be like, how did your generation ever go out of the house in those.

And then in 10-15 years they’ll come back in style again. Fashion is cyclical, so I say if you like it, wear it.
@alinafed I totally agree!!! I am not a fan of LLR at all. But I'll go one step further and just let it be known that I basically hate all direct sales everything - LLR, R+F, Usborne, whatever fitness craze is happening. Nopenopenope.
@hardlyhannah I have been look for a good beef stroganoff recipe for a while, which one do you use?
I second @juliebird6 about direct sales. I love my friends but I hate all the Facebook pushing for me to buy their stuff. It's like constantly having a pushy sales person in your face.
I like the LLR theme patterns for holidays, but not the other ones. So yes you’ll see me walking around with candy corn or Christmas trees but otherwise I stick to solids!
I have strong feelings on MLM. I do sell for one, so I am clearly all for it. But I agree that there is a right way and a wrong way and the spam is the wrong way. I work hard to keep my personal Facebook and business Facebook separate for example. And invite people to my group rather than just add them. As a sales person it’s about relationships and knowing that your product isn’t for everyone so don’t force it on everyone!
