Autoimmunity moms? Im in so much pain this pregnancy. Doctors can't figure anything out. Is anyone else experiencing this? 31 weeks along, so getting there!
What are you wearing for bras? I am short and I feel like my belly is pushing up on the underwire on the sides and doesn't feel great. I am a D cup so I need something a little supportive but that doesn't hurt.
@kbbtah No experience here, but I've heard from others that symptoms can get worse during pregnancy and then get better after birth and that there isn't much they can do. Maybe other moms have some suggestions.
@megpeg I found some kind of stretch wireless bras from Target that I really like. I'm a C/D cup too and feel like they provide enough support and have enough padding for me too.
@megpeg I also found some wireless ones from Target that offer support and aren't killing me. They are different than what @becausescience posted though.
@megpeg Great question. I am also D cup (and growing). Underwire bras are officially "dress-up" clothes now! I'm wearing the Full Busted Seamless Nursing Bra from Motherhood Maternity. It actually looks pretty decent under t-shirts and it comfortable! Link in spoiler.
Hey ladies! For those of you with Braxton Hicks - have any of you asked your doctor/midwife when they should be concerning? I’ve had them since week 14 (third baby here) but in the last week they’ve gotten almost painful and more frequent. Just tonight I probably had 10 in an hour and a half. And I was laying down and drinking water. I wasn’t like this with my first two pregnancies. Was just curious if anyone knew what the professionals said about Braxton Hicks.
I think it's worth asking about. I am always in the better safe than sorry camp. I can have intense BH, but have an IC and history of PTL and know the signs if they are causing changes to my cervix. I'd drink some water, rest, and if they continue call. @StephBrim24
Thank you @DDRRT1982! I really appreciate your input. I reached out to a friend that works on the L and D floor at the hospital here and she said about the same. They're continuing but spreading out a bit. Half hour to go before I call just to be safe.
Thanks @mdfarmchick - they’re still happening so I called the answering service and they’re supposed to pass it on to the doctor. We’ll see what happens. Still coming every 5 minutes or so.
@amylonghorn - I got admitted for observation almost an hour ago. I am contracting but thankfully my cervix is still closed at this point. The nurse said it feels like the very outside of my cervix is trying to open a bit but otherwise good. So now they’re running swabs and urine samples to test for any infections that may be causing the contractions. So I’m praying it’s something simple and just a fluke. A girl can hope. It’s crazy - my first was 4 days overdue with no labor signs until then and my second was 7 days overdue with Braxton Hicks starting a little at 38 weeks. So I didn’t see this coming.
Test results all came back clear except I have a yeast infection so that may be causing an irritable uterus. So I just took a one time pill that should take care of the infection but it may take 24 hours for it to kick in. So I’m going to be observed for a couple more hours and the next doctor to come in will make some decisions. Hopefully I’ll be good to go once the infection is taken care of! And I’m hoping my contractions miraculously stop before my infection is cleared up.
@StephBrim24 I’m glad you went in! Hopefully this will take care of it and no more contractions until baby time!
@muggle621 I’ve been on prednisone twice this pregnancy for respiratory issues. My ob said it’s totally safe and I haven’t had any issues. It can cause elevated blood sugars but that is temporary.
@StephBrim24 Hope you get out soon and the contractions stop!!
@heatherdubrow Thank you!! My doctor was mostly ok with them but he said they were "controversial" in one of his drug books so that's why I was worried.
I'm hoping these steroids work because if they don't then I have to have myringotomy (a tube put in the ear) WHILE AWAKE. They use a local anesthetic but it still sounds terrifying.

@StephBrim24 thanks so much for keeping us posted! Glad you went in and were able to get the treatment you needed. Hope you are able to go home soon and rest. HUGS!!
Any ideas for easing belly discomfort while exercising? I’ve been walking on the treadmill at a moderate (3-4 mph) pace for most of my pregnancy. However, in the last few weeks my low belly feels very heavy and tight. If I put my hands under my belly and hold it up, most of the discomfort goes away.
@bdaybaby18 They make support bands that hold your belly up a bit. Google maternity support belt/band, there are a lot of options. I haven't used one personally, so can't recommend anything specific, but here are a few I found.
Thank you everyone! The doctor said it’s possible my yeast infection irritated my uterus a bit but mostly she’s pretty sure I have a very irritable uterus all on my own. So this may keep happening all the way until the end. The contractions most likely won’t cause any dilation so the baby should be safe but they will feel pretty real to me and it’s hard to say how often this could happen. I’ve been home for around 5 hours and they’ve started back up a little and all I’ve done is lay in bed and drink water. So I’m nervous for the road ahead.
@bdaybaby18 DH is a chiropractor and certified in kt. It basically goes from under my boobs following along the uterus down to my pelvic area. And he did both sides.
@StephBrim24 wow what a night/day! I’m so glad you were checked out and they figured out a cause. Hopefully your uterus calms down a little for the next few weeks.
Have any of you ladies used a Halo bassinet before? I am thinking about trying one out but wanted to know if anyone else has experience with one. With DD we tried the pack and play the first two nights after we brought her home and barely slept at all, and then she slept in the rock and play for the next 5 months. Any input is appreciated!

As far as bras, I wear a sports bra all the time now. Comfortable and supportive. Ha.

Has anyone tried KT tape for exercise during pregnancy?
