7w6d measuring 6w1d... urgh

Just has my first US and it’s appears our bean is measuring small. The tech showed me the sac, yolk sac and tiny embryo. No mention of a heartbeat. But it’s probably too small to see if it’s there. 

I know I have to wait it out, as this could go away or be a sign of something bad. The impending holiday season makes things harder. Trying to stay positive without getting my hopes too high up!

Unless you track your ovulation, you really can’t be certain of your dates. So, don’t get discouraged, mama. I’m a late ovulater. Is that a word? This is my fourth but the first couple times I was in a similar situation but we later figured out I ovulate at the end of my cycle. Hugs. And prayers for you and your bean.

Do you have longer cycles? I didn’t ovulate until CD 29 and if I had an ultrasound based on LMP it would show me as “behind” too. Hopefully this is the case for you!

this can be normal. both of my pregnancies were a week or close to it behind my EDD based on my LMP. and if that is the case there is a good chance you wouldnt see a heart beat yet

I was in a similar situation with my son.  I knew my dates because I temped.  I should have been over 7 weeks, he was measuring 6+ and we were not sure there was a heart beat.  A week later he caught up and was measuring over 8 weeks.

Are you certain of your dates and is your gestation based on ovulation? If not it can totally be a matter of late o, I’ve been known to ovulate in day 20 versus the day 14 they assume. And lots go later than that,

WHat everyone else said is true, unless you know exactly when you ovulated (through temping or ultrasound) then you really don't know exactly how far along you are. I ovulated around CD 40 the cycle before I got pregnant! Will be keeping fx for you!!!

Yep, I second what everyone else said. This happened to me with my son and I intentionally made this appointment later than I “needed” to because I know I ovulated late this time too. I’ll be thinking about you.

Yep I lie about my lmp date each oregnancy to line up with when I ovulated (since I know)

I didn't realize you could fib. :P

I was sorely tempted to when I made my first prenatal appointment in January because I didn't ovulate till CD21 this last cycle, but all they seem to want to go by was LMP, and they won't listen to when I ovulated.

Thanks all. This is comforting! I don’t know when I ovulated, just my LMP and when we DTD. Almost 2 weeks off seems like a lot. But there’s no sense in stressing until speaking with a doctor. Thanks!!

Lol. Well. I didn’t get permission to fib  
my oldest I didn’t lie and then I was a day away from being induced for going post dates even though I knew I ovulated late and wanted the extra days. Ever since I lie. And I’ve always measured exactly on track with my known dates

First US I measured 7 weeks when I should have been 8. Given my history, Dr scheduled an appt at 10 weeks to do a repeat US. That one measured right on time. He said that sometimes a vaginal US can't get the right positioning for an accurate measurement. I'm 31 weeks now & baby is still measuring right on point.

Hopefully your situation is similar to so many others in that you just ovulated late and everything is fine. I know the waiting for another us has to be stressful.

Also another one for late ovulation.  I ovulated some time between days 24-28, the days most would be expecting their period. 
Also- When I made my appointment they didn't want to hear my ovulation dates, they went by my lmp. I didn't complain bc otherwise they wouldn't see me until 12 weeks and this gets me in a tad earlier. I'm also high risk so I'm glad we'll get the ball moving "earlier".

With my daughter I was tracking ovulation but my OB pushed my due date back 11 days due to measuring smaller. Sure enough my daughter was born 11 days early right on what I thought was her original due date! As long as you make progress on your next u/s you should be fine. Thinking good thoughts for you!

I began spotting a few days ago and had my follow up scan this morning. No changes since the last one is all the sonographer could say. So I think this means a mc is imminent. Thanks all for your help and support.

FX it’s just you ovulated late like everyone said. It’s very likely! I ovulate later too. With my second I knew the day I ovulated but they wouldn’t listen. I even knew the exact due date and when I went in for a dating scan (because I had had a miscarriage the month before ingot pregnant again so there was no LMP) I nailed the due date in the head! I was like told yah!
