I'm almost to the end of Ken Follett's new book, A Column of Fire. I loved his other books, but I have to say that this one is really dragging for me. I'm looking forward to finishing so that I can move on to something else.
Currently reading The Last Juror - I'm going through a bit of a John Grisham phase right now but I'm feeling the need to a really good series. If anyone has good recommendations?
I’m reading Jane Eyre on the app Serial Reader. I also started a book called I’m Still Here by Ann M Martin (yes, she has books other than The Babysitter’s Club!)
I'm about to finish up Someday Someday Maybe by Lauren Graham (loved it!) and after this I'm planning to start either To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han or History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera.
@mrsbubbles-2 What genre are you looking for? Have you read Stieg Larsson's Millenium Series (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books)? I've actually never read any Grisham (gasp! I know) but Larsson's series is pretty suspenseful, so if you are going for a page-turner, it's worth a look if you haven't already read them.
Awesome, thank you @juliebird6! I think I have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but haven't gotten to it. So glad to hear a good review!
I'm just coming out of a YA dystopian phase; I read Hunger Games and Insurgent, then the Awaken series and the Birthmarked series which was really good (but a general TW - not so great to read while TTC or pregnant)
@juliebird6 I've been wanting to read that series! @mrsbubbles-2 I just went through my Goodreads list trying to remember which series I've read recently. Louise Penny is a mystery writer and has a great series (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache). I also loved the Gifting series by K. E. Ganshert. It's a YA paranormal series that was pretty cheap on the Kindle store!
@hezzer78 YAAASSS, I'm sci-fi/fantasy all the way! I loved the Red Rising series - anxiously awaiting the 4th installment. Currently struggling through the Gender Game series - it's more geared towards YA. The Brilliance Trilogy is decent. I LOVE the Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss - again, waiting for the 4th book. Thinking about starting American Gods by Neil Gaiman. DH loved it, so I feel like I should give it a shot.

Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. Not too far in, but I like it so far! @offtoneverland I almost got To All the Boys I’ve Loves Before, you’ll have to let me know how it is.
@mrsbubbles-2 who is the Awaken series by I goggled it and found a couple so I'm confused. I like the YA dystopia books as well. One my list to read are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Small Great Things, and Starting the Alex Cross series
@offtoneverland thank you! Checking those out immediately! @kindbytealikat pic in spoiler, I can’t spell the author’s name and autocorrect is being an ass!
@mrsbubbles-2 I completely loved house of night! Lol
i just finished the second book in the ‘His Dark matters’ series (golden compass, subtle knife) and I’m on to the third and last book! After that is 5 Second Rule and Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
plus whatever we pick for book book club in January. It could go any way so I have no idea what that’ll be.
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
@hezzer78 Is it about the Dragons of Challon? I loved that series!!
Being a middle school teacher I tend to migrate towards YA. I’m hoping to re-read all 6 Percy Jackson, the HP series, Fablehaven, and then find and finish T.A. Barron’s Merlin series. If I have time before school gets out, I’ll try and re-do Anne Mcafferys Riders if Pern series.

Three more days until winter break, and then I can hop back on my reading list! I have two Agatha Christie novels ('And Then There Were None' and 'Murder on the Orient Express') and my book club's pick 'The History of Love' by Nicole Krauss.
School needs to end- the last book I finished was 'The Grinch Who Stole Christmas'. Excellent book.

@kayldawn The Rosie Project is the book we're reading for book club next month! So glad to hear you're enjoying it. @jsnakehole How long do you have off for winter break? Hope you get lots of reading done!
@offtoneverland I loved Someday Someday Maybe too. I hope she continues to write fiction.
I’m currently trying to finish Murder On the Orient
Express. With all the hype on the
current movie I figured it would be a good time. It’s entertaining but I’m looking forward to
finishing it.
I became a born-again bookworm this year when we were in the
thick of IVF treatments. Reading fiction
was the only time I wasn’t thinking about getting pregnant so I read a ton in
2017 and hope I keep it up. I am
planning to do this 2018 Reading Challenge (link) to keep things interesting.
My favorite books I read this year were Big Little Lies,
Orphan Train, The Nightingale, and I’ll Give You the Sun (which is a really
beautiful YA novel).

@laurad75 I loved Big Little Lies. Actually, I've really enjoyed everything by Liane Moriarty.
@msmonalisavito If you like Dan Brown, have you read any James Rollins books? His Sigma Force series is a good mix of science and history with action thrown in.
I've been reading these cheesy short Christmas Romances called the North Pole Anthology, but Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Eng just downloaded to my kindle from my library so I'm hoping to star that today.
Omg this thread is awesome. I mostly read paranormal/fantasy and just finished rereading Kresley Cole's Arcana series which is meant for teens but is pretty intense. Her other books are good but have a lot of sex (just a heads up).
My favorite authors are Ilona Andrews and Kelley Armstrong. Both are amazing and I've read pretty much everything they've put out so let me know if you want specific series suggestions.
I think I'm going to reread Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series next which is about a grim reaper who is a PI. Her writing style is unique and funny which sounds like a plan now that ms is in full swing.
Other series I love are: Patricia Briggs - Mercy Thomason (Alpha and Omega is good too) Ann Bishops The Others Nalini Singh Guild Hunter
@melbel0824 Yes, I love Moriarty too and read a bunch of her stuff this year but BLL was by far my favorite. Did you watch the series too? They are doing a second season and I'm so interested in how they continue the story. I also loved Little Fires Everywhere and I have her first book Everything I Never Told You to read soon.

@laurad75 I started to watch the series, but didn't make it through the first episode before DH said he didn't like it. Then I never picked it up. I heard it was really good though so I'm hoping to binge watch it without him next year.
@melbel0824@laurad75 I read Truly Madly Guilty by Moriarty and I didn't really care for it. The writing was good overall but the "big horrible thing" wasn't all that horrible IMO. I have wanted to read Big Little Lies though so I'll give it a try! @laurad75 I love your term "born again bookworm." lol! That term describes me really well too. I read all the time growing up but stopped after getting married. About 3 years ago I made a goal to read one book a month and I've increased my goal every year since then. I'm so glad I finally got back into reading!
@lakesideknitter did you get sucked in by the facebook ads for Gender Game also? I bought the first one but haven't started. Also, @princesslockness I have said this before probably on TTGP but I LOVED Fablehaven. They just had a new series with some of the same characters come out about the dragon preserves, but I can't remember the name and I struggled with it. Also loved Dragon Riders of Pern when I was younger and should totally re-read those. Thanks for the reminder!
@melbel0824 I just looked up Liane Moriarty because the name sounded familiar (aside from Big Little Lies) and I just realized her book "what alice forgot" is on my list-it was on modern ms. darcy's list of books she read in a day and it sounds crazy!

It's called Highland Dragon Warrior.
It's terrible and raunchy and ridiculous and I love it.
I tend to read sci-fi/fantasy books to escape - so if anyone has good recommendations in this genre, fire away!
