  • AFM, I will finally break the news to the in-laws this Saturday when we drive over to their city for xmas! My husband is really funny. He just wants to say, "[helloworld9] is pregnant, it's a boy." And that's it! I'm like nooooo we can't do that!

  • I'm 22wk3days now and the past few days have been rough. Sunday my dog caused me to fall down the steps. They found a spot of bleeding on my placenta so I was kept overnight for observation. I'm on bedrest for a few days now. But thankfully baby boy's hb has remained strong and I can still feel him moving around.

  • @rel_1987 that is so scary! I am so happy everything is ok!

I am 5 months today, 22w with our little bean! Had the official anatomy scan last week. We were told the baby has mild hydronephrosis (back of urine in the kidney). Worst case scenerio is surgery after it's born, it will likely just need an ultrasound and maybe antibiotics. But hopefully none of those. They want me back for another US at 32w. I'm strangely not stressed, I am a medical provider so I guess I am used to people having medical problems and it doesn't freak me out too much. I'm sure everything will work out fine. Suffering with a cold this week, super stressful week at work, and trying to pack up for the holidays as we are heading to Key Largo tomorrow with my family for vacation. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! We all have so much to celebrate and be thankful for this year! I just keep thinking of next year when we can start sharing all these fun traditions and moments with our baby!!

  • @Hopeful_mom Yes we will tell them gender too! I'm sure they would like to know haha. And I don't mind telling people the gender now. Do you know the gender of your LO?

@meredithj123 I'm glad to hear it seems heal-able? Enjoy Key Largo! Sounds like so much fun.

  • @meredithj123 your post is scary yet you sound calming at the same time good for you.  I'm a basket case for everything!!

    16wks today yay  :)
had my scans and bw done yesterday praying all will come back ok as the dr said so far everything looks good and baby is currently 5oz I wish they were a lb already!!  This process is so amazing!!

i feel still so early in this process but the indigestion is outta control!! No matter what I eat  :s I hate taking anything but the dr thinks it's silly for me to suffer so much so I'm giving in to taking pepsid so hoping it can help! I feel like the indigestion makes the nausea worse at night.  Really hoping that can finish up already!!!

@helloworld9 so excited for you!!! OH doesn't want to know gender even though I have an idea ;) so we shall see... he went from thinking girl to now boy...I don't want him confusing the baby  :D

im not doing big social media announcements but I did tell my nephews and niece this weekend.  Hidden under my jacket I put a big bow around my belly.  We were getting ready to open gifts for the holiday and I told them that I've got the best present for them....tada a new cousin g-d willing :) They were with me and knew about the MC of my twins earlier this year so I wanted to share the news with them.

  • Hey ladies! A little late to the party over here, but it's great to hear your updates! @rel_1987 I had the exact same thing happen to me early on. Cousin's dog jumped on me and I fell down the stairs, ending up with a bleed and partially separated placenta. Prayers that yours resolves quickly and that you can be done with the scares! @meredithj123 good luck to you as well! Glad you're not stressed though!

AFM...currently 22+4 with the twins and fighting a cold, which is no fun. DH came down with it Thursday and me Friday, so it's a REALLY good thing we had all our Christmas prep done super early this year. It's been so long since I've had a cold though that I am forgetting how long it takes to go away...hopefully we'll feel better enough by tomorrow to enjoy Christmas! Our cribs got here yesterday though which is exciting! Helping this to finally sink in that it's real!

However...I need some help. I'm going to post more detail on a separate thread as well so respond where you'd like, but the short version is my eating disorders seem to be resurfacing and I am feeling TERRIBLE about it cause the absolute last thing I want in the whole world is to hurt these babies...as far as I can tell I've been on the low side of right on track with my weight gain this whole time but it's still a LOT with twins and I'm having a hard time with it...any help/support would be appreciated!

  • So i just wrote a whole post and it disappeared before i could send it. My last post was on the december 18 thread since i didnt notice this update here. Im 26w3d now and my biggest issues are sitting and sleeping. I get this ache in my back just under my shoulder blade and finding a comfortable position is almost impossible at times. I have to sleep reclined and my body pillow doesnt even help with this pain. So im just trying to manage that right now. Otherwise i cant complain. This little guy is sooo active. I cant believe he has that much room considering all the places im feeling the kicks and punches. One minute he’s kicking my cervix and the next he’s in my ribs! @Hopeful_mom your doctor may bring up the echo after your anatomy scan. We didnt know about it before that. Even though everything looked good on the anatomy scan and they didnt have any worries, its apparebtly an extra precaution with ivf babies who could have more risks for defects. It was about 30 min for us cuz little dude doesnt like to cooperate when we need him in position, but it was just an ultrasound for the heart, even though our tech snuck in some other pics for us. Definitely ask your doc about it, they may have different suggestions. We got some extra reassurance from it and our next ultrasound was pushed back because the only issue they had seen, which was my placenta being a bit close to the cervix , has resolved itself. So now i wont be back for a scan until 36weeks. Hope everyone had a nice holiday and is feeling well!

Hi Ladies! Hope all of you had a wonderful holiday so far! I took 18 days off work, so I still have 12 days of vacation left.  I had planned on being productive like cleaning the house and declutter before the baby arrives and before I become less mobile, but have instead bummed around playing video games!  I haven't played video games like this since high school, really.  My excuse is that I won't be able to play video games after the baby arrives, but...

I'm 25 weeks pregnant today. I have an appointment with my endocrinologist (she is not my MFM specialist).  I have no OB appointment until 1/19, when I get my 28-week ultrasound.  The baby is kicking like crazy and two days ago DH was finally able to feel him, which was sweet.

Ladies, what are your new year's plans?  I'm going to my parents' for new year's eve/new year's.  New Year's day is the biggest holiday in my culture (sort of like the lunar new year for the Chinese) and this year I'm going to be a good daughter and celebrate it properly, with my family.

  • Hello everyone! I just came back from the in laws. We broke the news to them over the weekend and they were so shocked and happy. I had to visit with my husband's extended family as well and it got a little tiring answering the same questions over and over. But hey, I will take that over no baby at all.

@nmtay I'm really sorry to hear about your struggles. Does your OB have resources? I wish I had better ideas to help.

@dreamcometrue2017 Is it normal to wait for your next scan at 36w? I had my 20w anatomy scan and am wondering already when the next one is!

@cashewchicken I have no new years plans at all. I just want to laze and bum around too! I'm exhausted from doing in law stuff.

  • I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Ours was super busy, but fun. We got tons of baby gear and got our nursery all set up.  A little ahead of schedule but I wanted to do it before I get too big to help put together furniture, etc.

No New Years plans here. I highly doubt I even am able to stay awake until midnight.

Hi ladies- I’ll be officially 16 weeks tomorrow. We got pregnant through Ivf with our first transfer (thankfully). We’re having a boy (we found out beforehand).
Been feeling okay since I started Reglan at like 12 weeks. Before that was miserable... Also the past week or two have been getting tired mid day and sometimes need a nap.
We just started setting up our nursery earlier than planned. We got a crib and dresser for Christmas from my parents.
Excited to be in the Second trimester now. Yay! Edited- I’m 16 weeks today! Haha. ;)
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.

  • Hi ladies! I know I'm a bit behind in posting for this week but I finally have time to fit it in :) the girls are getting super active which is super neat and makes me a lot less paranoid about their health. Christmas was much smaller this year than normal, but that can be nice too :) The girls are already getting Christmas gifts, lol. The biggest downside this year is I started getting a horrible cold on Christmas that (hopefully) came to a head yesterday. I'm still blowing my nose constantly, even with taking Robitussin (which I got ok'd by the OB :) ) but I don't feel like dying any more.
I also had my first real 'pregnancy brain' event today. I almost started a fire in my microwave because I thought I had set the time for 6 minutes 30 seconds when I actually set it for 63 minutes. Didn't catch the mistake for about 15 minutes when smoke started coming from the microwave. Fortunately I caught it before there was a fire so I just had to air out the house a bit.
I'm working on New Years and New Years Eve but I don't normally have plans outside of trying to keep my dogs from barking at the neighbors setting off fireworks so it's not a big deal for me.
Our next appointment is next Tuesday, which is going to be our glucose screening. Any advise for that? My blood sugar normally runs low so I'm kind of concerned about how I'm going to handle things in general. I've also been getting pretty bad carpal tunnel (don't remember if I've mentioned it before) so that's something I need to talk to the OB about at my next appointment.

  • @amanning2011 I scheduled my glucose test for two weeks from today and was going to come here asking for advice as well.  My doctor said if it's in the morning to fast beforehand, but mine isn't scheduled until 11am.  I don't know if I want to go all morning without eating lol.  I've read online that it doesn't matter what you eat beforehand, but I've also read that it does and to avoid sugary foods/carbs.  So I'm not really sure which is true.
    helloworld9
  • @MMD1986 my OB did tell me I didn't need to fast (mine's in the morning) but to avoid sugars/carbs. Mine might be concerned that I do normally run low so they don't want me to fast. And that's kind of all they've told me lol.

  • 17w 2days can't wait to get into the 20s and start to feel this little one move!!!!

I can't believe the nausea is still here but I have been able to eat more here and there so hopefully that will improve.  It sux that this feeling sticks with you all day.  I tried sleeping more elevated and find that helps me feel a Lil less sick so looks like this will be me through the pregnancy.

Excited to hopefully see this miracle next week at my 18w appt!! Should be hearing about my blood work from the visit with my anatomy scan.  I keep saying if they haven't already called me then all should be good right :)

@dreamcometrue2017 thx for the info! Will ask at my next visit!! I can't believe u don't go bac till 36w I don't think I could do it.

@helloworld9 sounds like ur trip was great yay!!! Spreading good news has to be a breath of fresh air!!

@Holls214 welcome lady I've been waiting for you ;). Throwing up while driving I can't even! Glad u have finally found some relief, it's so rough!!

@cashewchicken ur cracking me up! The only game I could play and didn't die in the first 5 min is ms pacman :) glad ur taking some time for u!!

kudos to everyone getting ready for baby so early on.  I'm still so nervous I can't even think about it.  I bought a pair of maternity jeans and I thought that was a big deal for me.   Hoping when I feel movement that will help ease my mind...I just think IF makes its tough!

  • I'm a bit late for the party, but better late than never :)
@Hopeful_mom , yes! can't wait to feel the movements, it'd be such a welcome reassurance!
I'm 17 weeks today. My next appointment is Jan 25th, which is more than a month from the last one. I think they're also planning to schedule an EKG for the little one, since as someone already mentioned here, it's more common for the IVF babies to have heart problems. Keeping fingers crossed he's all healthy in there.
a few days ago I tried to take a picture of my bump, the problem is - there is none :D However, today I feel that it's growing. Slowly, but surely - I feel this tight part of the belly getting more and more prominent. Very exciting!
I'm having problems with nose bleeds, especially at night, so I got a humidifier, and it seems to be helping a bit. Now my nose is running instead of bleeding :D oh well, i consider it a win :D
I'm still yet to re-gain all the weight lost in the first trimester, but the nausea is almost gone now. I had this crazy hunger for a while, but that is now gone too. So weird. Sometimes I get very scared - why is my belly growing slow? Why am I not hungry all the time? Is the baby ok? But the boobs are super itchy and sore, and I feel the space in my belly being filled up, so that's a little bit of comfort. Can't wait for the next appointment and to feel the baby move. For now, I'm trying to stay relaxed and take one day at a time.

  • @Hopeful_mom How exciting for your anatomy scan! I'm glad to hear your nausea has lightened up a bit.

@FuzzyDust I have a lot of snot in my nose, constantly!  I actually rub coconut oil in my nostrils to keep it from drying out from blowing my nose so much.

  • @helloworld9 I'm still waiting to take a drive longer then 10min where I don't need to be holding a bag it's crazy!!!
my nose is on the smaller side inside and I constantly feel like it's clogged and dry as well...so annoying!!!  I guess the winter isn't helping the situation.

@FuzzyDust I try taking it one day at a time it just doesn't always work.  My bump is so strange as I'm sporting my own muffin top.  I feel like my top roll is popping out more go figure.  I still just look a Lil puffy but u wouldn't guess I'm preggers at all.  Especially with all the IVF bloat I look thinner now go figure.

@helloworld9 Isn’t it exciting to finally get to tell family (and in-laws) that we are pregnant!?  I've been with my husband for 13 years now (married 7), so I’m happy that I can share the good news this year.

@rel_1987 I'm so glad you and your baby is okay!

@meredithj123 Hoping the kidney problem just resolves itself, or require minimal interventions.  Hope your baby moon was amazing!

@Hopeful_mom That's a cute reveal story!  I'm sorry that you are still feeling nauseous and now indigestion to boot.  I'm with you on getting a slow start on buying all the maternity/baby related stuff.  I didn't buy my maternity clothes until I was in week 20, and just this week I finally bought some baby clothes.  Well, one of the reasons why I waited to buy maternity clothes was also because I wasn't showing much and since only my tummy grew, I could still fit into all my pre-pregnancy clothes (Bella Bands are godsend).  I'll be shopping for baby stuff (mattress, stroller) with my family after new years.

@nmtay How are you?  I also came down with a cold this holiday.  Glad I can just sit around and do nothing and let the body heal.

@dreamcometrue2017 I also had fetal echocardiogram at the same time as the anatomy scan (both done at 20 weeks), as my baby is an IVF baby.  Well, I actually had my first echo around 14 weeks, but since the baby was so tiny we needed a follow-up echo to confirm that everything was fine.  And it was.  Whew!  I'm surprised that your next scan is at 36 weeks!  My hospital is also reluctant to have frequent ultrasounds but my next one is coming up at 28 weeks.  Though that was scheduled to confirm that I no longer have SCH.

@MMD1986 It's great that you set up your nursery already!  I feel like I should, too, but probably will only set up a crib and a changing station in our bedroom, for now.  Nursery will come later. Or not... Good luck on your glucose test!  I've only had a 2-hour glucose tolerance test in the past when I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, so I'm not sure how different that test is from the gestational diabetes screen test.  Hope you don't have it, it is a pain in the butt to have to manage what you eat during your pregnancy.

@Holls214 Welcome and congrats on a baby boy!  We also knew our baby's sex ahead of time since we did PGS.  At our anatomy scan, the first place the tech went to was his genital area and right after she did, she said, "Oh wait, do you guys know the sex of the baby already, or do you want to keep it a surprise?"  Most of the time I have no idea what I'm looking at when we do the ultrasounds, but that image was clear what it was.  I would have been devastated if I wanted to keep it a surprise!  I'm sorry you're still suffering from nausea.  Hopefully it lets up soon.

@amanning2011 Hope you've fully recovered from a cold.  I caught one just two days ago and have been feeling down and sick since.  Though being sick is an excellent excuse for playing video games! :D  Good luck on your glucose test, too!

@FuzzyDust My bump grew slowly too.  I'm 25 weeks pregnant this week and some of my co-workers still don't know that I'm pregnant (I also wear baggy sweatshirt at work).  I saw my family back in Thanksgiving and again around Xmas and they all mentioned that I now have a significant bump.  I thought I had a decent bump around thanksgiving (20-week), but now I really look pregnant... well, when I wear more fitting clothes anyway.

AFM.  Still recovering from a cold.  And playing a video game like an asocial teenager.  My vacation is now halfway over and haven't accomplished anything baby related!  Today's task is to put away clothes that I won't be wearing this winter.

  • @cashewchicken thank you! And I just started my vacation. Hope to accomplish something baby related but will be ok if I just relax. We have to enjoy the peace while we can!

  • @rel_1987 That's what I tell myself too! Once the baby arrives, I won't be able to enjoy my lazy weekends and holidays anymore. That's my excuse for being lazy anyway :)

  • @cashewchicken I'm sure u look adorable and glad ur taking it easy!! I can't believe ur 25 wks already that's exciting!!
My pregnancy is still under wraps it'll be interesting to see where this bump is at 20wks. I have big shirts and dresses I think I'll be able to get away with my stuff for a while and besides I'm pretty sick and don't go much of anywhere.  I'm excited I can read a Lil more on my phone right now, that's about as much excitement as I have right now  :D hope you're feeling better!

@rel_1987 enjoy ur vacay!  U and baby deserve the relaxation!!

I know this will sound like a funny question but how do ppl plan a baby moon? How do u know when you would feel good enough to enjoy it?

  • @hopefulmom we did with my son. I actually felt good in the second trimester - lots of energy, good appetite. I think we went around 23-25 weeks and felt like it was perfect time before I got too big.
    Hopeful_mom
  • @hopeful_mom We planned our babymoon during the first trimester, mainly because that was the only time that worked for us to go on vacation. Luckily I felt fine the whole time. Maybe you can plan one somewhere where you know you will have a lot of downtime and be able to relax versus something jam packed with activities.
