All these ITS AN ESTABLISHED COMMUNITY lol how we’ve all been pregnant for less than two months at this point! Lol what a joke. Either way, the ramzi theory just like the nub theory is not SCIENCE lol seems like a few moms got their hopes smashed with believing in these things lol

The reason people don’t like those threads is because people are straight up asking if it’s a boy or a girl and NO ONE CAN TELL THEM. So it’s a pointless AW thread. At least you were just asking people to share and not making a thread all about yourself. At least with old wives tales people can just share and joke about it. The Ramzi method is just dumb, and apparently confusing, or else there wouldn’t be a million threads on the internet asking people to do it for them.

When people say it's an established community they don't necessarily mean the BMB, they mean TB in general. If you've been around a while you'll know that these types of post are never welcomed here. If you do a quick search you'll see what I'm talking about.

Caps, exclamation marks, and lols. OH MY!
But for reals, the Ramzi theory is not scientifically proven to determine the sex of a baby. I could take a handful of salt, throw it in the air, and say if it lands to your left, it's a boy, to the right, it's a girl. And it would have about the same percentage of accuracy as the Ramzi theory. And no one has time to throw handfuls of salt in the air, ya know?
Maybe my definition of fun is tainted, though. ::shrugs::
Just out of curiousity- why is there so much animosity geared towards this? Isn't TB all about community and having fun while being a great support team??? And isn't this theory an old wives tale just like the 'ring' theory and a dozen more theories? -all for fun! I'm just a bit lost.

Did you not see my explanation above? It’s because people post attention whore threads saying “Ramzi Me” and while most old wives takes, dumb though they may be, are pretty straightforward, apparently this one isn’t if you have to ask internet strangers to read an ultrasound picture meant for professionals to read and interpret. It’s all the stupidity of old wives tales without the fun, because nobody knows WTF they are looking at on ultrasounds this early, anyway.
TB community is known for being about science. There are plenty of places that will buy in to this hogwash on other sites. A lot of people come to TB because they don’t want people throwing glitter at them.
I'm pretty sure there was a ramzi thread on my old group January 2017 and it didn't have this kinda of response. People weren't taking it seriously just killing time in some ways.
@jessmb14 I’m with you on being lost. What’s the big deal? Or is it because you have those who actually believed in this got bent out of shape and came to TB to sue? Lol but telling people what they should and shouldn’t post all the while clogging up the comments section with what your family had for dinner last night and what part of what show your currently binging on Netflix is by far less entertaining especially when I got to a certain thread for certain insight . But I digress, it’s literally not a big deal. It really isn’t .
@jessb14 in general, there is a camp of people on TB who don't appreciate random threads, although one could get confused about that due to the large number of single topic posts on this board and July. There are a few reasons that this might have garnered so much animosity, maybe the chief among them being that its against TOU for people to ask if they are pregnant, and while this is not against TOU it is very similar to ask people to interpret something a medical professional would usually have to do. In this case, I had to google the Ramzi theory, and in order to be successful at all in using the theory you need to be able to locate the placenta and chorionic villi on an ultrasound picture and THEN use that info to predict. I don't think a lot of people know that/have it labeled on their ultrasound, from what I have seen. They might also have been annoyed that OP came from July, where someone had just posted a similar question (although it was just asking people to interpret their ultrasound) and it was ill recieved, so it was odd she would choose to post a similar topic here. These are just guesses as to why people might have been frustrated by this post. In most cases, people who post inappropriate single topic threads are just redirected.
@lalala2004 I totally get that! As I stated in my original post! It’s just for fun and hahas just like the nub theory. It’s all fun and in no way science ! I feel like if you don’t want to participate . Then don’t . If you feel like it’s so bogus that it bend you out of shape then don’t click on the thread . Simple as that , there’s plenty of threads on here that I feel are a waste of space but it’s none of my business who posts what. If I’m not interested I don’t join . I don’t join in on the thread just to bitch because I’m miserable . Don’t comment and hope it dies that’s literally all one has to do
@SmashJam I came from July, yes but I did not see the original thread about the ramzi theory. Like you keep stating. I didn’t comment on it so there’s literally zero reason why you would think I seen it. I heard about it. On my own time because TB is not my life as it seems for a lot of these females. Looked it up and thought it was fun! If someone comes here looking for serious professional advice about what the hell the gender of their baby is from an old wives tale then I’m sorry that that’s their own issue. Let’s be serious. Also, stop assuming that I hacked this topic from July posts when I was literally in July for a week and did not go on to too many threads.
Dont have time to do unnecessary things but have time to police pregnancy apps for people not following the rules lol
who really honestly cares ! Let people post what they want. That’s really not that hard. The most active threads will stay at the top.
@rosettesandstripes it’s the internet. People are going to post their opinions. That’s what keeps it interesting. I say if you think something is a waste of space, speak up. We might as well have some fun drama around here
I don’t speak up for the simple fact it’s none of my business and it’ll literally a waste of my time to go and be bothered by someone else’s post. But I guess my bad for starting a FOR FUN post that couldn’t be for fun because there’s actual women about to have children think that these old wives tales are sound medical advice
I think it’s kind of funny that @rosettesandstripes is shit talking the weekly randoms thread when that’s the only place that it would have been semi-appropriate to post this like ‘hey, here’s my ultrasound according to Ramzi Theory I’m having blank but obviously that doesn’t mean anything.’ Passively-aggressively posting a thread just to start shit and then implying that others are somehow lame or have nothing better to do because they’re invested in maintaining the basic rules and guidelines of the board is actually super lame. S+TMs have seen this all before.

@rosettesandstripes - hold up. You started a just for fun thread, it didn't go over well for all the reasons listed above, and then you want to jump all over someone for pointing out where your topic maybe would have gone over better?
Not cool.
I think maybe you're taking this a little too personally and it might be time to cool off for a bit. An early ultrasound is meant for a doctor to establish viability and see if things are moving along on the right track. Most women are just happy to get a good report at this stage and, while speculating about the sex can be fun early on, I can't imagine wasting my doctor's or my radiologist's time (the only people qualified to read an early ultrasound btw) with questions about if my kid will pee sitting down or standing up.
@lakesideknitter it’s nice to see that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Lol
You’re right, I have no idea what I’m talking about. None of us S+TMs do. You should remember that when you inevitably come here asking for medical advice on something that you should be calling your doctor for, which is something people like you have a pattern of doing. Honestly, if you want to sift through countless one-off AW posts every day, head over to Baby Center or some shit.

Exactly literally making my point on where you have no idea what you’re talking about ! No one asked for medical advice or asked HEY ANYONE KNOW THE GENDER OF MY BABY AT 7 weeks? Lmfao
Just throwing this out there, especially for those who see this BMB as a support group: you may want to pay attention to and offer condolences on the loss threads before you start posting one-off threads. This, of course, excludes any situation where you may be experiencing loss symptoms yourself.

@rosettesandstripes sincerely, if you're this passionate about Ramzi threads you might want to check out some other forums where these types of posts are encouraged. I think the reaction you've gotten here makes it pretty clear how popular they are on TB. And FWIW, this isn't exclusive to our BMB, this is how it is site wide (am I right, lurkers from other BMBs, I know y'all are there ) Otherwise you're just
*lurking from Feb18 too because yeah, we're all watching * Yeah, what @ecwk said, this is a science-based site so most BMBs will shut down any "just for fun" old wives' tale stuff as pointless.

But ladies do post their ultrasounds hoping to get serious feedback, despite the fact that probably 99.9% of us aren't trained professionals. If one of those posts gets head pats in the form of people taking them seriously, the next diva will post hers expecting the same thing. Then it's just a forum of blurry ultrasounds, some of which will eventually include fetus genitals. Luckily, the World Wide Web wasn't really a thing when I was in utero so my blurry fetus genitals weren't plastered on the internet. I like to think my son (and his sibling(s)) will appreciate the same courtesy.
Also, I don't think the best way to become part of a community is to bash the members of it by insinuating that you have much better things to do with your time. /sarcasm

Very surprised by the amount of negativity in this thread. I guess I fail to see how a "Just for fun" thread on the Ramzi theory (which is pretty popular on most other communities) is any different then let's say a "movie thread". Putting science aside, isn't that what most communities are here for? For women with something common, in this case "pregnancy", to talk with other women..to get to know one another, ask questions, to support each other, and to find something to pass the time since I think most of us can agree pregnancies start off pretty slow. It's not any different than really a lot of these other threads that are going on right now, and I think that most of us can agree are for fun. Some aren't even pregnancy related. This thread isn't technically against the TOU if you read it. I have no problem with the multiple threads out there- I comment in the ones I"m interested in and pass the ones I'm not-as I'm sure most people do, but it made me feel very uncomfortable to come into this thread to see other women treating each other poorly. I guess I'm just trying to play devil's advocate here, but I feel like tone of this thread definitely went south, and we really should be supporting each other. Pregnancy is already hard enough.
