Anyone had an ultrasound at 5w4d?

i have a scan scheduled for 5w4d and it’ll be right before we plan to tell my close family. I know it’s a bit early to see the heartbeat but possible. Anyone had one then? See the heartbeat or not?

No, my OB typically doesn’t schedule prior to 8 weeks. Due to the holidays and OB being booked solid in early January, I’ll get in early this time - at 7 weeks 5 days (but after Christmas). We’re going to announce to family before the US, since everyone will be over for Christmas anyway.

It’s possible, but I definitely wouldn’t expect it, especially if you are sure of your O date. My OB tries to schedule scans between 6 and 8 weeks and I had to make sure mine was scheduled farther out as I know I ovulated late in my cycle.

Mine was just a dark circle at 5 weeks 2 days. You might see a little more but heartbeat is optimistic. Not impossible tho

I think that’s a little early. I believe, and I’m not a medical professional, so don’t quote me, that the HB doesn’t start until the 6th week. Soon, mama, soon!

I had one at 5 weeks 3 days. They were able to locate where in the uterus implantation had occurred and measure the yolk sac—that’s it.

I had one at 5 weeks 2 days, they were able to locate the gestational sac and do measurements. They advised the sac was of correct shape and in optimal Plantation location right in the center. I go back on the 26th for another ultrasound!
