Infertility

Introducing myself :)

Hi! I'm Ash!
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 11, i was found to have cysts on my cervix when I was 14, at 17 I got into a car crash which caused the loss of my right ovary, and at 18 I was diagnosed with endometriosis.  I can't say I'm particularly shocked by this though, as fertility issues like pcos and endometriosis run in my family.  I also began working in funeral service at 20, which caused me to be exposed to heavy chemicals like aldehydes and phenol that can mess with fertility.
I was always sure I didn't want kids and insisted I would NEVER have any, but now that I probably can't i want nothing more.
I've been with my boyfriend Since January 2015.  We've been having unprotected sex the whole time, though I'm hesitant to say we were trying to conceive because I wasn't putting in my full effort (i was working 80 hr weeks, hardly sleeping, eating mostly fast food, not exercising, lifting 200+ lbs daily, exposed to heavy chemicals, biohazards, bone dust, etc).  In May I went on leave from the funeral home so I could start taking care of myself better (I've lost 60 lbs!) and maybe have a better chance but...still nothing.
This month my period was 3 weeks late and I took two separate pregnancy tests and both had a BFP.  But, it turned out to just be a big FALSE positive since the morning after the second one, I got my period. I felt so heartbroken and disappointed which is why I came looking for infertility forums

Re: Introducing myself :)

  • Welcome, and sorry you are finding yourself here. I am sorry about the test, it may have been a CP, and I know it's hard, but maybe that is a good sign. I had issues with CP and early loss, and going to an RE was the right step for us. If you have been having unprotected sex since 2015 with no luck, I would consider going at least for a consult.

Best of luck tp you and congrats on the weight loss

Welcome! I’m sorry you find yourself here my friend. Our family owned a funeral home and my step father is still an embalmer. Funny enough I grew up on top of a funeral home, though We would take our friends down to the rooms and have parties in the smoking lounge( back when you can smoke in places in the The late 90s) I was Never exposed to any of the chemicals.
CONGRATS on your weight loss. Have you been to the RE yet and gotten testing?
