How far along are you? 8 weeks today!

How are you feeling? Less horrid. I have morning sickness and food aversions (chicken) that suck but this morning the magical combo of bagel + sprite put my MS at bay enough that I can stomach some coffee. Woohoo!

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Not til after xmas.

Questions? So I had a chicken aversion with my first pregnancy that lasted til 13 weeks, which is when we butchered our chickens so thankfully it went away. This time, I have an aversion to chicken as well, but I did not have it with my last pregnancy, which was a girl. That first pregnancy was a boy. Now I know technically next week we can tell with a blood test the sex, but can my body know NOW and can that really be why the symptoms are the same? Or is it probably something else like my body just being weird with pregnancy and I am reading too much into it?

@SmashJam I can't eat chicken either! Last night we made a chicken and broccoli noodle dish and I made DH take all the chicken. 

How far along are you? 10 weeks!! Double digits!!!

How are you feeling? Still not great...

Rants/Raves? I'm going out of town again this weekend and normally I would be really excited (we are going to a Vikings game). But I already told DH he might just need to leave me in the hotel most of the weekend.

How are you feeling? Tired, nauseous but Diclegis is helping a lot

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I have an u/s in about an hour or so

Rants/Raves?  I'm so nervous about this u/s.  I started cramping and having brown spotting yesterday afternoon and called the MFM.  They fit me in for an u/s to just make sure baby still has a heartbeat.  There isn't anything we can do obviously if something is wrong but I just need to know what's going on in there.  I know brown spotting can be totally normal but combined with the cramping it just has me nervous.

Questions?  I know cramping in first tri is normal also.  But how long did everyone else have cramping?  Is it normal at around 8 weeks?

GTKY: What is your favorite Holiday movie/short?  It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite.

@Sarafuss I'm sorry about the spotting and cramping. It's messes with your mind! I still had cramping until around 8 weeks so hopefully it's normal! Glad they could get you in.  Update us when you know more thinking of you.

How are you feeling? Pretty Good. MS seems to be getting better, but nausea rears its ugly head if I let myself get to hungry. Lots of snacking these days.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? First US on Saturday! Ahhh 2 days can't come soon enough.

Rants/Raves? Today is holiday party day at work. Which mean departmental grab bag and lots of fun things today. I think the company gives out the annual christmas gift today too so we'll see what we are dealing with this year.

Questions? Not much right now. I'm starting to send out emails to learn pricing of daycares near my house. Holy expensive batman! 

GTKY: What is your favorite Holiday movie/short? Big fan of It's a Wonderful life and Christmas Vacation. Solid classics.

@SmashJam My family loves those "signs" of if it's a boy or a girl. They think that MS is way worse with a girl than a boy. At least that's what my mom says. Sometimes there's something to it...will be exciting to see if the hunch is right when you find out.

@Sarafuss I am so sorry you are going through this. I have my FX for you. I'm at 7.5 weeks with occasional cramping, but not like period cramping. More like stretching cramping.

@MrsMiller8588 I'm with you and @SmashJam on the chicken as well. Although I'm having a general aversion to meat I force fed myself some beef last night for the sake of protein. I know I can get protein from other sources but it's not the same kind of satisfied feeling.

@nimmle luckily I love beef and we have a lot in our freezer (we bought 1/3 of a cow earlier this year). I have also started looking at day care options.. my mom is talking about retiring to watch the LO, but I'm trying to be prepared just in case!

@MrsMiller8588 1/3rd of a cow??!??! Wow that's a lot of beef. My mom is already retired but with 2 other grandkids I can't expect that she's going to help out all the time. Besides not much room for her in my tiny 2 br condo considering she lives a 2 hour drive away. Day care is just so insanely expensive. My plan is to look for a job closer to home when I'm on maternity leave.

Thanks for the good thoughts ladies!  My u/s went well and baby is measuring right on track at 7w6d and had a strong HB of 176!  I was so relieved to hear that the HR was strong since it was only 127 at my first u/s.  I have an SCH next to the sac so that is the cause of the spotting.  Hopefully that resolves in the next few weeks.  I am so relieved!

@nimmle my sister is pregnant too so my mom is thinking the two babies to watch will be worth retiring for she is already setting up a nursery in one of their bedrooms. Lol. I found that home daycare in my area is cheaper then the large centers. I would only go to someone I trust though. A couple of my neighbors do daycare out of their homes so I think I will be able to find something if my mom decides it's too much. 

And yes it was a lot of beef! But we have an extra freezer in the garage that we keep it in. It's been nice to always have a go to meal option!

How are you feeling? Pretty good. My nausea has been very mild and only when I’m hungry. My main issue is fatigue.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Very happy that I saw my peanut on Tuesday and graduated from the RE. Next appt is 12/28 with the new OB. 

Rants/Raves? Seems like I’m coming down with a cold. Trying to do everything I can to prevent it though. I’m so scared of getting really sick right now.

GTKY: What is your favorite Holiday movie/short? Hmmmm maybe How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Would love to watch it with my LO one day. 

@SmashJam I’m sure those things mean nothing but it’s fun to speculate. I can’t wait to see if it holds true for you. My intuition has been boy as well so far. I want to pay for the test and find out as soon as I turn 9 weeks but DH says to just wait for the u/s . 

@Sarafuss yay for an awesome ultrasound! Seems like bleeding in first tri is very common. At my last u/s they said there is a collection of blood near my cervix so they wouldn’t be surprised if I had some heavy bleeding and cramping at some point but it shouldn’t affect the baby. So here I am just waiting for that shoe to drop knowing that I will panic if that happens no matter what they say.

@nimmle wow I haven’t even started looking at daycare yet. I need to get my act together lol. I’m off 2 days per week so I’m hoping I can afford to get someone to come in the other 3 days at least initially so I don’t have to put a small baby in daycare but I have no idea realistically how much these things cost.

How are you feeling? Nauseous, food is gross! But I'm starving. I also feel like little things zap the energy from me, today I had to sit and rest after I showered.

Rants/Raves? I'm super grossed out by food videos on Facebook. I'm usually such a glutton. 
On a happy note: we bought a king sized bed!!

@Sarafuss so glad all is well. I had heavy bleeding last week and I was freaked out too. You did the right thing by calling and getting checked. 
@safire3 eek! At least they warned you about the possibility of blood. Hopefully you won't  freak out too much if it happens, although it is super scary. Did they tell you what to do in case of it happening.

I am amazed by how many of you have an aversion to chicken. I wouldn't even know what to do, that is pretty much all I eat.

Holy preparation @nimmle. We haven't even started to think about looking at daycare yet. Now I feel like I'm so far behind.

So happy to hear the us went well @Sarafuss. Hopefully the SCH resolved quickly and doesn't cause any more worry for you.

How are you feeling? Pretty good! I seem to have managed to dodge MS, and I have been getting a little more energy back. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Nothing else until our NT scan on 2 January. It feels so far away after getting weekly scans in the beginning. 

Rants/Raves? The shift from RE to OB and no longer having my weekly checks definitely made some of the anxiety start to creep back, but I am slowly starting to feel better about it. I'm really just kind of ready to get out of first tri already so we can be more open about things and I don't have to feel like I am hiding this big secret all the time.

@coco305 He basically was saying I don’t have to do anything but he knows how alarming it can be so I can always call and they will see me if I haven’t started going to the new OB yet.

@Pinky917 I haven't really done much other than email places near me looking at prices. My mother mentioned something to me because I am in the NYC area the wait lists are like a mile long. That's why I started reaching out.

@Pinky917 yes the switch from RE to OB was tough! I'm still emotional about leaving my RE's office. My ob was so nice &! nformative though, And everything is looking ok, so she wasn't concerned.

How far along are you? Not sure how to calculate...should be 8w 3d but since baby measures behind on monday, I guess 7w today? 

How are you feeling? Anxious, scared....but nausea has come back here and there. Not sure if it is stuff I eat or what but Im not going to complain because to me nausea is a good thing. Im also tired still and getting acne on my face which is driving me bonkers. 

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Waiting on a call from the office for the ultrasound date and time next week. Nothing else set up at this point. Thank goodness no more bloodwork!

Rants/Raves? So glad it is friday! I need a few days off work.

@busymommy23 That's so frustrating to wait on a call from them for you next US appointment. I would be calling them every 2 seconds! I'm glad bloodwork is over

@nimmle it is frustrating but it is probably because i asked for an evening or saturday appt so that I dont have to leave work early because i am eating up my time already. I think they said no more bloodwork because of the discrepancy with the low numbers and because we saw a heartbeat. But not having it done is probably better for my anxiety.
