Vanity party train just got longer lol...Just got a haircut a few weeks ago, brows are getting done next week (I just got to the brow bar at Ulta so I wont need an appointment), I'm having a facial on Thursday (I usually go monthly, I buy them a year at a time lol), mani/pedi is scheduled for the 23rd, so is my lady part waxing. I told DH I was thinking about getting eyelash extensions so I didn't have to worry about mascara in the hospital and he looked at me like I'd grown two heads, so that may be a bridge too far..... The only thing I'm not 100% sure of is makeup that will last through labor, there was a thread a while back where people were saying what they used last time wasn't there? I might be making that up....
@JuliaGoolia719 there was a comment in a thread. I posted mine in there. I thought about lash extensions too. But i just haven't gotten to scheduling that. I'm sure I wont end up doing it because I'm lazy and will forget.
All you girls talking about getting your hair done and stuff..meanwhile, I haven't shaved my legs since October, my toenails are in desperate need of some new nail polish, and I haven't done any grooming for at least a month
Yessss! Add me to the VAIN TRAIN too @supercoolstephy! I am getting a pedi this weekend, had my nails done last week and had to cut them all the way down, I now say they are my mama nails lol (I am a fan of longer, almond shaped nails but they don't work with a car seat ha!). I may have to get my nails done again before she is here, but time will tell. I also have a haircut, color and eyebrow wax and tint and lash tint scheduled next Saturday. I think I may need to move it up though if the doc says I'm more dilated than I already am now. We shall see because ain't nobody got time for roots in labor hahaha!
@supercoolstephy I think we have the same makeup drawers! haha But you're right, I imagine mine is about to go downhill after this LO is born. Did your Double Wear stay on the whole time?
@schaze the only reason my legs are shaved is because I knew my pants had to come off for my appointment today! I didn't even shave all in one try, I broke it up over two nights hahaha
@JuliaGoolia719 and @supercoolstephy I got lash extensions done for the first time a month ago and love them! I needed something to feel pretty. I was admiring a friend’s lashes - when she told me they were fake I was sold. The downside was I was super uncomfortable laying on my back getting them done (they gave me a few pillows but still) so sadly I don’t think I can manage a “tune-up” again before baby comes.
On the vain train as well. Hair appt next wednesday, taking off work next friday for pedicure, makeup is already packed in the go bag... Now just keeping my fingers crossed that she stays in long enough to make it to all those appointments!
Yeah, can't really relate to the vanity train lol. I just want to be comfy. The last thing on my mind is how I'll look during and afterward lol. I packed moisturizer and BB cream. I'm going to be smelling that sweet baby and nuzzling non-stop.
@whitta1218 I got DH a Google Home Mini at his request. We're moving soon and at the new house he wants to be able to turn off and on the lights, etc by talking. Plus his phone is junk and his "ok google" thing doesn't work. They had it in the mos awful exclusive color possible so I got in charcoal gray. He wanted boots too but we're strapped for cash. Obviously. I'm pregnant and it's Christmas time lol.

+1 for the pedicure this weekend! Getting an extra 15 min of massage too! Brows were done two weeks ago so TBD if I can squeeze in another appt. MIGHT fit in a prenatal massage.
ETA my comment again because it was blank after posting.
@whitta1218 it did last all day. I have really dry skin though so while I appreciated it during the hospitals stay, I wasn’t that into it afterwards. But it did last the 24 hours and then I touched up my normal spots, like my chin, and my lipstick before we started pushing/having my csection.
@missblaze I get you. The hair and stuff beforehand is because I know I won’t get to for months after she’s here and I’m going to lose my mind if I wait any longer. Haha. But the makeup has always been my thing. I like to do it once for the day and not really touch it, but I’ll also be there FOREVER so I don’t think I could go 3 days without it. Haha
I'm not really a big make up person but I am definitely coloring my hair, getting a trim, and getting my eyebrows waxed this weekend! I decided to paint my finger and to nails last night but they may need a touch up! I just know I won't have the time and energy to do any of those things after LO gets here!!
I also started grooming again, I did it over a three day period because that's exhausting, but only because I know I have to take my pants off for my appointment today lol
@supercoolstephy I have super dry skin too! I've had eczema all of my life, and while I don't really have breakouts on my face, I just don't have any oil in my skin at all. It's not normally a problem in the summer, but the winter is such a struggle having my makeup look good all day. Have you tried Smashbox primer oil? I started using that last winter after I got it in my Ipsy box. It's expensive ($42) but you don't need much at all and it gives my skin a lot of moisture!
@whitta1218 I haven't tried that. I might need to add that in. Like you, I don't really have problems during the summer, it's the winter that kills my face. I'm a full coverage foundation type of gal but in the winter I have to switch to something lightweight because it's just so drying. I'll check this stuff out, maybe get a sample at Sephora before making the investment. Sephora has a great return policy but I always feel bad returning.
@jaclyn0405 I don't need makeup right now either. I have bins and bins sorted by type of makeup item in my bathroom. I just ordered some refreshers the other day though, mascara, eyebrow pencil, and my favorite lipstick that I lost (and will probably find once I get my replacement). But do I need the lipstick? Not if you look in my cabinet and bins.
Hahaha yes @supercoolstephy that totally sounds like me too! I don't wear eyeshadow for everyday so I LOVE to play up my lips and pretty much have every color under the sun. But that never stops me from buying more! I get the eyeroll from FI all the time, but at least he appreciates it. Even told me last week that while he doesn't mind the darker colors I have been wearing he much prefers the brighter and fun colors bwahahaha!
I was going to post this in the thread about vaccinations but didn't want to hijack since this is mostly a rant of sorts.
DH doesn't make my 13 yr old step-son get his flu shot. Which would be fine, really, because he's only here for 2-4 days a month, but like, his mom doesn't take care of his colds/sicks like I think she should, as quickly as I think she should. He was at our house a few weeks ago with a cough, DH gave him some meds. Then he went back home, came back for his last visit and was hacking up his lungs again, and said his mom said his cough wasn't bad enough to need meds. Umm... he needed meds last time he was here, and probably a sick visit at that point since it'd been at least 2 weeks. So we get him for Winter break tomorrow and I told DH that if he's sick still we're taking him to the urgent care or for a sick visit at DS pediatricians office on Saturday. I'm not letting the whole house get sick while we're all on Christmas break for two weeks because she wont take him after a month. She did this same thing right after I had DS. She let SS go a month with bronchitis, the way the holidays hit we didn't get him that entire time, and then we took him to the urgent care, and then he came back 2 weeks later and had pneumonia so we took him again and finally got it cleared up. I couldn't imagine that going on with DS, but I'm also not his mother so there is only so much I can do and say about the entire situation.
@supercoolstephy That is annoying AF. The good news at least is that he is 13 so you can tell him to wash his hands, cough into his elbow etc. Also, the flu shot is apparently wildly ineffective this year (worse than most years), so he is (allegedly) not missing much. But that would aggravate me to no end.
Adding this: my coworker (who is awesome and my favorite) just came in and said, "so what days are you here next week?" I said definitely Monday-Wednesday and Thursday if needed (which it likely won't be)... and then she said, "OMG so Wednesday is like your LAST day for a long time?" It sort of hit me then... like... I guess it is? And HF I'm having a baby. Also, my boss and I walked to Starbucks today and I said, "If January 2nd rolls around [due on the 3rd] and we are back at work and this one hasn't shown, I guess I'll just come to work." And he said, "Absolutely not. You can just stay home and not report it. No way am I going to have you this far from your hospital/family." He's the best... but again, just confirmed that I'm literally almost done...
@EmilyLove25 This week is my last week in the office and I'm just gonna work from home some a little next week if needed! I can't believe it's getting so close and we won't be at work for a long time!
Yeah, not counting today...I have six days of work left. And if I'm still pregnant when the second semester starts on January 8th (due 12/30), I'm going to lose my freaking mind!
I'm so jealous. I've got tomorrow, half days Monday and Tuesday. Then I'm off till Jan 3rd. If she's not here by Jan 3rd then I'm back in the office since I'm off bedrest then until she gets here, latest is Jan 22nd.
I'm really jealous of all of you with not much work left! I counted and I have up to 25 work days left (due 1/12 but counting an additional week just in case and I'm only taking Christmas day off for the holidays).
With yesterday's appointment my OB has restricted my work schedule to 2 6 hour shifts a week only. Thank the Lord, so that puts me (With Christmas and New years) at 5 more 6 hour shifts.
Some of you are getting so close! I'm super jealous as I just hit 34 wks today. January 25th feels so far away...
Also, on a random note. I've got a friend who is currently 9 days overdue. I think about her constantly and feel miserable for her! Ugh, that'll probably be me, marching on into Feb.
I stopped dying my hair because DH asked me to. I told him it was okay but he said it just worried him. After two losses, I decided to let my hair go so he wouldn't worry as much. I'm so excited to dye my hair again after she is born. I did get my haircut this week since it may be awhile. I'm planning on foundation and mascara at minimum when delivering, mainly so I don't hate pics of myself with my new daughter. I have brown spots and really uneven skin. Also excited to do another chemical peel when I'm not pregnant, haven't researched if I can do it while breastfeeding yet. Wanting to get a Mani/pedi this weekend just for a relaxing treat because I stopped doing it myself during pregnancy.
My number of days for work depends on when she comes. I'm getting the bare minimum needed for my maternity leave finished tomorrow in case she comes soon (38 weeks on Monday). But otherwise, I'm going to try to work until I go into labor. I kinda hope I go into labor on Sunday since she is likely to arrive in December. I'd prefer for her to arrive before the holidays to help separate her birthday from the holidays.
@kelk5 My husband is the same way. So I have half light brown half bleached hair right now haha I don't really wear make up like I used to, so I don't think I'll be doing all that. I did want to get my nails done but he's worried about that too.

This was my original comment in it.
Foundation: Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup
Concealer: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Natural Finish (CLEAR)
Blush and Lips: Benefit Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain
Bronzer : I just used what I had on hand since the primer really kept everything in place. I usually use a MAC bronzer and this Marc Jacobs Contour kit
Eyeshadow Primer: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original
Eyeshadow: Can’t remember what I used but probably just something I already had at home. That primer keeps everything in place.
Eyeliner: NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner in Via De'Martelli - dark chocolate
I typically wear STILA Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner but knew I wouldn’t want a cat eye during delivery so I stuck with a long lasting stick.
Mascara: Diorshow Waterproof Mascara
