2. Any new symptoms? Nothing really significant. I can tell my bump has grown a lot in the last couple of weeks because I keep trying to scoot my desk chair in, and my bump hits my desk!
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I have an ultrasound Monday to check on the growth of a fibroid I have. I'm trying not to worry about the fibroid and just look at it as another opportunity to see the little squish!
4. How is the baby prep coming along? I feel somewhat ready one minute and then completely overwhelmed and like we have nothing done the next. My biggest stressor right now is the nursery. We still need to paint it, and for some reason I feel like we are completely unprepared unless the nursery is painted and decorated. I'm hoping we can make some progress on that this weekend.
I did buy our car seat, strollers, glider, pack n play, and some other small items that at least allow me to feel a little prepared. Yay for black friday sales and amazon warehouse deals! We are using my nephew's crib because it's still in great shape, so I'm picking that and a co-sleeper up from my sister over Christmas. That will help too!
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? I can't think of anything right now.
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? I love looking at lights! Whether it's just driving around in different neighborhoods or going to a big display and walking around, I love everything about it. MH and I are going to a big light display Saturday night, and I'm really looking forward to it. I feel like we haven't had a real date night in a long time and we are definitely overdue!
2. Any new symptoms? Running has gotten much tougher the last week or so.. as soon as I start running my abdomen feels big and heavy (which I haven't 'popped' yet so there is no real big bump yet). I think it might possibly be related to the way he is laying, which is completely sideways and I think he pushes his whole body against my abdomen as I can feel what I am pretty sure is his head to butt when he's doing it (he is so crazy and active all the time). This is a new thing for him in the last week so it correlates with the difficulties. I am buying a belly band and KT tape to try out. AND the pubic symphysis pain is so bad some days.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? At my 22 week appt, they did a repeat scan to get some things they didn't with the first and also measure him because he was measuring 90th percentile at 18 weeks.. well he beat that and was 95th percentile. They had me go ahead and do the glucose screen, which turned out fine, he's just huge apparently. I think i'll have another measurement scan sometime in the 3rd trimester. No more appts until 26 weeks, unless you count my hair appt next week.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Pretty good. We have the crib, changing table, glider, and bassinet. I am kind of at a stand still right now. I have pretty much set up what I can so far, besides some organizing, because I am waiting until after our showers to buy anything. I went into the boy section at the store the other day and wanted to buy everything. I kept looking at the little gloves and just thinking how freaking tiny and cute they were. I was impressed that I didn't walk out with anything.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? None that I can think of right now.
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Hmm... a few years ago, my husband and I went to see A Christmas Story Musical on Christmas Eve in Denver. Now each year(the last 2) on Christmas Eve, we watch the movie. It is a newer tradition, but I want to continue it with our kids. I think it would be fun to let them open up Christmas pajamas, drink hot coco and watch it every year. Like @stlbuckeye132 I love Christmas lights as well. Just going to drive around different neighborhoods is so fun. I am like a little kid... ewww, aww, look at those!
2. Any new symptoms? Acid reflux, occasional difficulties sleeping, and nightly mini leg cramps
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Glucose test in a week, and OB in two weeks.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? I want to buy everything I see, but at least on Thursday the crib is getting ordered, so nursery wise everything is coming together. As for FTM prep, I haven't really been prepping too much...
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Can anyone recommend some parenting books?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? My favorite tradition is the Christmas dinner my dad usually makes. It's a casserole of layered potatoes and Hungarian sausage and hard boiled eggs. He makes it every year that he can find the sausage for it.

@stlbuckeye132 No, I haven't gone. We almost went last year when my parents came to town but it ended up getting freezing cold and icy roads so we didn't. I have heard they are amazing though!
2. Any new symptoms? I just started feeling uncomfortable in the past week- heartburn, hemorrhoids, and uncomfy stretched/full/heavy feeling in my stomach. I can't believe we get bigger for 3 more months. I feel like I could burst. Makes working out a lot more difficult!
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Glucose test and check-in on Thursday. The amount of women on this board who say they failed the 1hr glucose test has me assuming I'll be the same, but hopefully it'll be fine.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Does reading books count as prep? Because that's all I have. I assume we'll put the crib together in January? Eeek.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Ha, will I be tired forever? JK. I don't want that answer.
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Ahh, I love everything Christmas. Family dinners and parties, volunteering, decorations, checking out neighbors' lights, cookie exchanges... nothing bad save the lack of free time!
@npkat we went last year with my parents and I was in absolute awe the entire time. I told MH within like 10 minutes of being there that we were starting a tradition right then and going every year. It will be nice to have this year just the two of us, but I'm looking forward to taking the baby next year too!
@stlbuckeye132 that's a great tradition. I really need to make it a point to go this year. My husbands weekends are pretty full of end of the semester school work and studying for finals, but maybe I can pry him away for a couple hours in the next couple weekends to go!
@gh515 I made a comment that my belly has been fulling so full and heavy as soon as I start running this past week, and I do not even have a real bump. I was trying to chalk it up to the little guys new positioning he likes to be in. Maybe it's just that my belly is growing and it about to really make its' appearance soon. I am still going to get a belly band and KT tape to see if I can relieve some of it.
1. How far along are you? 26w6d 2. Any new symptoms? acid reflux has started, and I'm really not that big but definitely waddling now for some reason 3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? 3 hour glucose tomorrow, failed my 1 hour by a smidge. Also got put on iron supplements, but no OB appt til last week in Dec. 4. How is the baby prep coming along? We have carpet and paint in the nursery, and the changing table is assembled, the crib still needs to be, other than that, very unprepared. We went through IF issues for awhile, so I am not used to looking ahead, time to start though I guess! 5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Anyone have any tips for sleeping comfortably? I wake up a lot and can never find a comfy position where I'm not thinking I'm smushing the baby. Is the snoogle worth it? 6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? I have 3 brothers, and every year since we were babies (now we are all in our 30s) we go to my parents Christmas morning and have to wait on the steps with our teeny personalized santa hats on until my parents get a picture and THEN we get to see what Santa brought. hahaha it is ridiculous but we love it. DH thought we were nuts, but now he has his own hat and is all about it.

@npkat I think we're in the same boat. From the front, I don't think I even look pregnant, so I know I have way more to "pop". But as a person who always works out and has never carried extra weight, especially in the midsection, the added weight and pressure REALLY makes a difference in cardio to me. I hadn't even considered a band or tape until you mentioned it... thank you!
@SoraLk I bought Baby 411 and will probably buy The Happiest Baby on the Block too. I haven't read either one yet, but I've heard them recommended from others.
@gh515 add me to the list of also having a heavy feeling in my stomach. This just has happened for me in the last day or two. I guess it just means they're growing in there? I'm not sure, but it definitely does add an extra challenge to working out!
@KZ1126 good luck on your glucose test tomorrow! Let us know how it goes! It also sounds to me like you're making good progress in the nursery! I'm getting my sister's snoogle when I go home for Christmas, so I'm hoping it helps too. Right now I'm using just an extra pillow and it helps a little, but I'm definitely waking up at least a few times throughout the night. Also, I love your family's tradition! My sisters and I do a similar thing at the top of the stairs, but we don't have mini Santa hats... jealous! haha
2. Any new symptoms? Just lots of fatigue... I'm just looking at the calendar like is it March yet?!
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? MFM on Friday! We get to see the lil guy and do a cervical check. Fx all the stress these past couple of weeks hasn't affected my cervix.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? On a scale from 0 to unprepared, I'm very unprepared. My little brother just moved out of what will become the nursery. Hopefully we will be filling it with baby boy everything soon.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Getting to see the family I haven't seen all year. I can't wait for everyone to see the bump! Oh and all the Christmas lights. It is magical.
1. How far along are you? 24+6 (25 weeks tomorrow!)
2. Any new symptoms? Honestly not really? I'm feeling straight-up punches and jabs from this little guy but otherwise I feel pretty good most of the time. Occasionally he'll get in a weird position and it's uncomfortable but I'm finally at that "I could be pregnant forever!" point.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I have my monthly checkup and glucose screening a week from Friday. Kinda nervous because I've been eating ice cream wayyyyy too much lately.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Um, I'm reading books and getting set up with a pediatrician? (Also picking out paint colors.) We'll start working in earnest in January.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Not anything I can think of at the moment!
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? We don't have a specific tradition other than watching "A Christmas Story" at least once all the way through on Christmas Day. But my brother and I are rarely together for the actual holiday (we won't be this year, for example) so I'll just do it with my DH and mom. I also love going to look at lights. Especially the ones at the Atlanta Botanical Garden!
@stlbuckeye132 I will certainly take a look into both of those. Thanks for the suggestions!

@stlbuckeye132 I'm debating asking santa for one..... I use one of those long "boyfriend pillows" right now, but every time I wake up and want to flip I have to totally readjust. You'll have to let me know how yours works out!

2. Any new symptoms? Middle back pain, especially while driving. I was planning on starting a light exercise routine this week but then I got hit with the crud x 10 so that has been postponed.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I took my glucose test last Wed and passed (I was shocked)!!! My next u/s and BPP is 12/20.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Ok I guess. I am determined to finalize our registries Sunday. They are so random and haphazard right now. I need to get on it b/c the invites for one of my showers have already gone out. The nursery has a crib w/o a mattress, a dresser, and a bunch of stuff my neighbor gave me.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Not today
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Making a breakfast casserole with my mom Christmas morning! I love me some breakfast foods.
Me: 36 DH: 37 Married: 5.27.16 Baby Boy Due: 3.18.18
1. How far along are you? 24+3 2. Any new symptoms? feeling pretty good except the cough. I have decent energy and the bump is round so I'm finally enjoying this. 3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Not till next friday when I have the glucose test. 4. How is the baby prep coming along? Every time I want to work on the nursery DH gets that man-child syndrome where he refuses to do anything I suggest. WFT is that? We don't watch sitcoms so he didn't learn this from Raymond...So we finally got the office furniture out of the nursery, but not without fighting. Now I still need him to move his stuff out of the closet. Baby stuff is in a heap in our dining room right now... ugh 5. Questions for FTM or STM+? I guess I need husband motivation advice? hahaha 6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Every year since we got married we go and cut a tree at the same place. We take selfies and have hot cocoa and then come home and set up the tree together. It was kinda a bummer to not make mulled wine this year.
2. Any new symptoms? Nothing new - unless, actually, you count me finally having a bit more energy! Might be attributed to the fact that I've really been trying to work out more seriously in the past two weeks.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Had a fetal echocardiogram last week. Baby's heart looks perfect - the test was just a precaution because of our family history. Next appointment is on 12/18, and after that, I'm on the two-week schedule! Woo!
4. How is the baby prep coming along? We're right where we want to be! Our goal was to clean all of our own unnecessary junk out of our apartment by Thanksgiving, and we met it. We set up her "wardrobe" (a bookcase converted into one, since we won't have room for her real dresser until we buy a house), and we'll be picking up her crib at the end of the month. Last night, we attended a "Dogs and Storks" class at the hospital and got some good information about making sure our beasts get along with baby. So we're in process!
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? None right now!
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? My family does the big Italian seven-fish Christmas Eve, and it is one of my favorite nights of the year. I love spending time with the people (and food) I love!
@KZ1126 - I am a big fan of the Snoogle. If you're resistant price-wise (like I was), check out Motherhood Maternity - they sell them and the covers, and they have sales that make them super affordable - I got mine for 40% off. I originally tried to sleep with my regular pillow with the Snoogle on top of it, but that was super uncomfortable. The key for me was to sleep with JUST the Snoogle, with the straight part to my left side.
@ashtuesday care to share any tips from the dogs and storks class? I've been trying to start reading up on this to try to ease the transition for our dog, but I'm not sure where to start!
@stlbuckeye132 Absolutely! Here are the biggest points the woman who ran the class hit:
Work now to break behaviors that could be problematic when baby arrives. If your dog barks every time the doorbell rings, for example, try to desensitive him to it so it's not something that will wake you or baby when you finally get a nap. If you typically initiate play with your dog by doing something like getting on the floor on all fours, change that: you'll be in that position a lot to play with/change baby, and the dog can get confused.
Set up baby stuff early and let your dog sniff it/check it out. Praise/treat him when he leaves the stuff alone. Basically, if you praise him for sniffing and being all up on the swing, he'll try to do that even when baby's in it. If you do it when he walks away after sniffing the swing, he learns to leave it alone. Basically, dogs should be indifferent about baby things: they should just become part of the environment.
Make sure your dog has his own toy bin (or spot) that is very different from baby's toy bin/spot: this will help him differentiate whose toys are whose.
If your water breaks in front of the dog, that will be their first exposure to baby's unique smell. Have a Kong stuffed with peanut butter in the fridge, and give it to your dog ASAP when that happens: it will give him a positive initial association with baby.
There's no need to bring a blanket that smells like baby home before the baby him/herself. You can, but research doesn't show that really helps.
Don't make a big deal about introducing your dog to baby: if he's interested, let him sniff her foot or something, but stay casual. Hyping dogs up can be bad: indifference is good.
Know your dog's body language: if he seems nervous when you put baby near him, don't put baby near him. Nerves/negative vibes lead to unpredictable behavior.
Make sure your dog builds positive associations with baby. Maybe you will wear baby, and at the same time, have your dog review some basic commands for treats. Maybe you'll throw him a ball while baby nurses. He needs to learn that good things happen when baby is around. It's not good to only give him attention when baby's asleep.
Dog and baby should only be together when your undivided attention is on both of them.
Setting up tethers, crates, or specific places your dog goes to on command could help you manage his interactions with baby.
That is most of what I can remember! I don't necessarily agree with all that was said here, but it's the advice the professional gave.
1. How far along are you? 29 weeks as of tomorrow!
2. Any new symptoms? Everything is constantly changing. My chiropractor told me from now on til birth to spend 10-15 minutes on my hands and knees to get her into position for birth. A lot of Braxton Hicks lately and mild cramping. Boobs hurt again and are HUGE! Starting to feel that 3rd trimester tired and slight loss of appetite.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I have an apt Dec. 12 and my 3 hour GD test Saturday. We'll see how they both go!
4. How is the baby prep coming along? I'm a freak lol, I have everything ready to go. Just waiting for my second baby shower my church is throwing my next Saturday and then DH and I will go get whatever else we need. I've got the car seats all ready to go, nursery is finally finished, her clothes are washed and folded. I'm ready!
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? Yes, STM... the best pads to buy to wear home from the hospital? HELP!
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Every year my dad, brothers and I go out on Christmas Eve and go shopping for my mom. We have lunch and get her the things on her list. We've done it for as long as I can remember and I enjoy the quality time with my dad and brothers. My dad always wears his "old man" hat we call it and we listen to Trans Siberian Orchestra as loud as possible while driving around. I wouldn't have it any other way!
2. Any new symptoms? RLP has been around this evening which I haven't felt in a long time. Ouch!
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I have my 1 hour glucose (again) tomorrow. I had to take it around 14 weeks or so due to being high risk and passed it then. Fingers crossed!
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Ridiculously slowly. I partly blame my husband who insisted on making the nursery furniture and has just now come to realize we definitely don't have time for that. So I am ordering the furniture tomorrow (it will take 6 weeks to deliver) and my husband is supposed to be painting the nursery this weekend. I felt like I had so much time and now it's slipping away! I'm hoping to have the nursery done around mid January. I will definitely be doing a lot of shopping after my shower next month!
5. Questions for FTM or STM+? none I can think of.
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? I feel lame and don't really have any traditions. I would love to start some with this new baby but don't know what those will be! I have a very small family and things haven't been the same with the holidays since my sister and I got older/married/etc.
@stlbuckeye132@npkat I've lived in STL almost my whole life and have never been to Garden Glow or the brewery lights! I feel like a bad St. Louisian lol

@JBcakes08 omg you have to go!! That can be your new tradition! We've not been to brewery lights, but I'd like to check those out at some point too. Although I did just have a coworker tell me that they went and it was ridiculously crowded and obnoxious. She said they had to wait in an hour-long line for the little beer samples. Not worth it in my opinion!
@stlbuckeye132 that's a great idea! (starting a new tradition)
I was passing the exit to go the brewery last weekend and it was all backed up on the highway - so I'm sure it was packed! I see friends posting pictures on FB of Garden Glow and it looks amazing! Maybe next year I'll go with with MH and the baby and I can have a thermos of spiked cider or something
Me: 30 DH: 31 Married: May 2008 DD Born: March 2018 DS Born: April 2019 Due with #3 December 2020!
Hello fellow FTMs! A bit late to this party, but hopefully you'll have me.
1. How far along are you? 26 + 3
2. Any new symptoms? I don't know if it's the weather changing here or a small cold, or if I have pregnancy rhinitis. It suuuucks. + crippling insomnia. + indigestion. + vaginal irritation. + WAY more hormonal that earlier in pregnancy (though maybe that is related to insomnia).
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I was flagged as high risk for preterm labor due to having twins, so I have a weekly phone check in to make sure I'm not in labor. I recently passed my 1 hr glucose challenge, however I tested positive for mild anemia and the twins are measuring 15th %ile, which has us concerned. I feel like I have gained so much weight, but apparently I haven't gained enough for two three. So trying to eat more red meat and eat more generally and hope these guys fatten up a bit.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? Preterm risk really put a fire under our asses to get things done early. We filled a storage space months ago and already have most of our main big ticket items and are starting to do more of the nursery decorating/reading/taking classes stuff now.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? Like @JBcakes08 I'm hoping to start our own traditions when these guys get here, but in a weird not quite religious interfaith family sort of way. When I was a kid we used to sneak Chinese food into movie theaters on Christmas because I'm a Jew (Hanukkah is not a big deal compared to other Jewish holidays). Now I'm transitioning into a Christmas-y thing because of MH so we get a tree but we decorate it in Jewish stuff/Hannukah colors. We'll land somewhere in secular Chrismukkah territory eventually!
@KZ1126 +1 on the snoogle rec. No pregnancy pillow is gonna fix everything, but I'm satisfied with my purchase + they have an organic version.
2. Any new symptoms? Some symptoms from the 1st tri making a re-appearance - extreme fatigue, emotions on the rampage. Also really getting more difficult to sleep with the growing bump.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I had to reschedule my last OB appt last week because of the snow and ice we got in Texas last Friday. NO ONE can drive on that stuff in Texas. There were cars in all the ditches along the highway! Anyway, I am rescheduled for this Friday, and should be going for the glucose test
4. How is the baby prep coming along? SO much stuff left to get. We have a crib! And that's about it.
5. Questions for FTM or STM+?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? I enjoy the big holiday dinner with family and hearing all the stories
2. Any new symptoms? I felt relatively normal in the peeing department up until this point, but over the past few days, baby's head is making things feel particularly urgent ALL THE TIME.
3. Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I had an appointment last week, which was pretty uneventful. She measured my fundus and doppler'd and asked how I was feeling. Doing the glucose challenge this Friday.
4. How is the baby prep coming along? We have crib, bassinet, changing table/dresser, clothes I've been thrifting, 60% of the cloth diapers we'll need, a month's stash of newborn disposables, ergo baby carrier, and a few crib sheets and the like. Still need crib mattress, changing pad, car seat, more cloth diapers, odds and ends, etc. We painted the room, but now want to do the trim. We're taking a childbirth class starting in Jan!
5. Questions for FTM or STM+?
6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition? I always get my husband a vintage kids' book, and it was fun to pick one out this year knowing that we'll actually have a kid to read to soon. I found an out-of-print William Stieg that's kinda existentialist (and beautiful in the way of W.S.) We also just really love living with a lit-up pine tree.

I love looking at lights! Whether it's just driving around in different neighborhoods or going to a big display and walking around, I love everything about it. MH and I are going to a big light display Saturday night, and I'm really looking forward to it. I feel like we haven't had a real date night in a long time and we are definitely overdue!

PS have you been to Garden Glow? The lights are AMAZING!

26w6d
2. Any new symptoms?
acid reflux has started, and I'm really not that big but definitely waddling now for some reason

Baby stuff is in a heap in our dining room right now... ugh
5. Questions for FTM or STM+?
I guess I need husband motivation advice? hahaha
- Work now to break behaviors that could be problematic when baby arrives.
- Set up baby stuff early and let your dog sniff it/check it out.
- Make sure your dog has his own toy bin (or spot) that is very different from baby's toy bin/spot: this will help him differentiate whose toys are whose.
- If your water breaks in front of the dog, that will be their first exposure to baby's unique smell. Have a Kong stuffed with peanut butter in the fridge, and give it to your dog ASAP when that happens: it will give him a positive initial association with baby.
- There's no need to bring a blanket that smells like baby home before the baby him/herself. You can, but research doesn't show that really helps.
- Don't make a big deal about introducing your dog to baby: if he's interested, let him sniff her foot or something, but stay casual. Hyping dogs up can be bad: indifference is good.
- Know your dog's body language: if he seems nervous when you put baby near him, don't put baby near him. Nerves/negative vibes lead to unpredictable behavior.
- Make sure your dog builds positive associations with baby. Maybe you will wear baby, and at the same time, have your dog review some basic commands for treats. Maybe you'll throw him a ball while baby nurses. He needs to learn that good things happen when baby is around. It's not good to only give him attention when baby's asleep.
- Dog and baby should only be together when your undivided attention is on both of them.
- Setting up tethers, crates, or specific places your dog goes to on command could help you manage his interactions with baby.
That is most of what I can remember! I don't necessarily agree with all that was said here, but it's the advice the professional gave.29 weeks as of tomorrow!
26 weeks, 2 days
@stlbuckeye132 @npkat I've lived in STL almost my whole life and have never been to Garden Glow or the brewery lights! I feel like a bad St. Louisian lol

26 weeks & change.

6. GTKY: What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I always get my husband a vintage kids' book, and it was fun to pick one out this year knowing that we'll actually have a kid to read to soon. I found an out-of-print William Stieg that's kinda existentialist (and beautiful in the way of W.S.)
