Re: Due Date Check-In (EDD 12/1-12/9) - Week of 12/4
Today December 5th
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
A lot of cramping and pressure
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Have the baby
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
It's tomorrow, hoping to talk membrane stripping.
Rants/Raves?
Insensitive people everywhere.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
Actually getting pregnant it was completely unexpected. I was told when I was a teenager that I had a .02% of ever having children.
12/7 (39+5 today)
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
A few weeks ago I had all these promising minor symptoms and now they're all gone.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
H still needs to install the carseat and we need to pack our bag, but I'm feeling meh about it not being done yet. Unless an emergency happens, I'll labor at home at first and will want something to do or work on. Otherwise the list is done and H can pack for me/us if needed.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Check-up today and I'll request a cervical check. And ask about what I can do to soften things. I can't believe I'm almost to my due date. The whole thing is surreal, and it kinda doesn't feel real because nothing is happening labor-wise. I've always known how unlikely it is but I'm still a little sad it doesn't look like this babe is coming on his/her due date.
Rants/Raves?
I don't want to complain because I'm so lucky to experience pregnancy and to get this far, but this last little bit is messing with my head like first tri did. This is supposed to be a big week (and lord have mercy family/friends keep reminding me it is by calling wondering what's going on), but I'm just chugging along at work and home like normal.
Sorry, it's gray and cloudy here so I'm feeling a bit down.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
The movements. I thought that maybe all I'd feel was a kick here and there; I did not think I would be able to feel pointy feet sticking out, body rolls, pushing on my bump and rectum simultaneously lol, and just all the constant little wiggles and such. It's so sweet and has made me fall in love with this LO so much more than I expected.

12/14, but RCS is 12/7!
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
nada today so far. Which I'm ok with since I'm scheduled for Thursday and I've been having contractions on and off for days and not dilating so I'll take a quiet day!
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Lol ditto @thunderbunnyhunny Have this baby! I'm doing last min things today but if I don't get to them, it's not a big deal.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
My next appt is my c-section. Holy moly!
Oh wait. I do have pre-op bloodwork today that I keep forgetting about lol
Rants/Raves?
Rant: morning/all day sickness. WTF?!? I thought you were gone.
Rave: I effectively only gained 1/3 of what I gained with DS1! And speaking of him, he's been extra cuddly and adorable this week. I know he knows big changes are happening and I'm trying my best to maintain some normalcy for him since he does not transition well. Looking forward to our mommy/daddy date with him tomorrow before baby comes.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
well I can honestly say everything about this pregnancy - from ttc, to how we ended up pregnant, to all phases of pregnancy has been a journey full of surprises - some good, some bad - all worth it. I would say my biggest surprise is how truly different this one was from my first. Oh and how truly unprepared I feel even though this is my 2nd (which FTM's, that feeling is totally normal and I promise you, it will just come to you day by day. 4 years later, it's still an every day learning experience!)

Was yesterday... womp-womp.
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
Going okay, but I'd really like to be making better progress. To recap, I had an aggressive membrane sweep on Friday and was 1cm dilated, but I didn't lose my mucus plug until yesterday and the contractions have slowed down to almost nothing. And I was super active yesterday with walking, cleaning & going up and down the stairs as much as possible, but still no luck.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Just to have the baby.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I have a check-in appointment on Friday and an induction scheduled for Sunday morning, but my OB will be out of town for both of those, so I'm praying the baby comes in the next couple days.
Rants/Raves?
Just trying not to get irritated by all the phone calls/texts/facebook messages from everyone and their brother asking when the baby is coming. Like, I totally get that they're excited, but I'm a very private/closed-off person and this is starting to feel intrusive (especially since most of these people have been completely M.I.A. for the majority of my pregnancy). Please just believe that I'll tell you when he's here.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
The whole thing! Didn't know it would be so gut-wrenching struggling to get pregnant. Thought I'd gain a ton more weight and be uncontrollably emotional during pregnancy. Watching DH get excited about this baby has been amazing and I want to marry him all over again. And like @whiska said, feeling all the baby's movements has been SO cool... I know it's the world's biggest cliche, but I never knew I could love something this much.

Today!!!
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
Nothing...once again I have a kid who is too high up and not showing any signs of coming down. Was trying for VBAC but doctor doesn't think he'll come down so c-section is scheduled for tomorrow!
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Have the baby
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Yesterday's appointment I was told we needed to do c-section
Rants/Raves?
Rant: my mom!!! She's very helpful and coming to help take care of my 22 month old, however she's once again upset I am asking her to not tell anyone about the c-section. Last time I got admitted for induction I asked her not to tell anybody until I had baby. This time around she's upset I'm making it all about me (it is!!) and how depressing I am. I'm like it's about me and she needs to respect it and if she knows how I am she shouldn't be surprised. She said well since it's my second she thought I'd be over it...no it's too bad. We can let people know when I am out of recovery and I know baby is okay.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
they really aren't all the same. Except of course not dilating and kid not wanting to come down...AGAIN! Lol
@Marley629 maybe the sickness is a clue labor is near.
12/2... 3 days ago...
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
I've felt a few cramps that I thought might be contractions, but they all stopped. Sunday I went for a 3.5 mile walk with the puppy. Nothing. Yesterday I worked a shift (mostly on my feet running around). A little cramping but still nothing. Pretty sure I'm going to be pregnant forever.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Oh, goodness. Like @djd0404 having the baby is on the list. We're still finalizing a name. Nursery still doesn't have HVAC (removed during the kitchen remodel) and we're finishing up refinishing the dresser/changing table. Car seat is purchased but not installed. Still working on some general cleaning around the house. Nothing like waiting for the last minute...
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Next appointment is today. I'll find out whether they're able to fit me in for induction Thursday or if it'll be Friday. I have the most obnoxious rash (I suspect PUPPS) that's killing me right now so maybe I can use that as leverage to go sooner?
Rants/Raves?
I've already worked in most of my rants. Rave goes to DH for surprising me on my birthday yesterday and for rescuing me Sunday from my walk. If he hadn't, it would have been closer to 5 miles, and I was already hungry and feeling dehydrated. Dog was very happy when she recognized his truck.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
hard to say. I'm overdue and somehow it still seems surreal that there's a baby in there and I'll be meeting him soon. I don't feel like I know him or really feel any of those motherly feelings - I mostly just feel large and stressed. Hopefully that bonding stuff all kicks in when he's actually here.
Hope your appointment goes well and you get to meet your baby very soon!

Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening? Nothing happening here... @rebeckyjoy I’m right there with you on feeling like I’ll be pregnant forever.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Nursery furniture is being anchored to the walls as I type! Now I just have to finish thank you notes and sterilize a few bottles.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc? I had an appointment today and my cervix was closed. Next week, they’ll start me on NST’s twice a week.
Rants/Raves? I’ve ranted about this on a few other places but I’m not over it yet.. my sister insisted on visiting the other day and brought my nephew who turned out to be sick (and she knew it)... Now DH is coming down with a cold. I cannot deal with a man cold right now.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy? I’ve been surprised that I haven’t had many symptoms as I thought I would (thankfully!) Of course that messed with my PGAL brain in the beginning, but I relaxed after the anatomy scan. That feels like ages ago!
OMG I forgot I don't have a name still...so avoiding it!
Leighton James my picked
Preston James DH picked
We asked my sister in law to ask our boys at home and they all voted Preston James lol
We went in Sunday morning unplanned having a baby and only had a middle name.,
12/9
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
Weird pains and cramps & the monitors for my NSTs register tightening that I don’t feel.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Need to deliver a quilt to a customer (she’ll come here) & i’d like to have the new furnace on, but scheduling the tech is crazy: they literally offer me only the few times when I can’t be at the house. Oh well, it’ll get done eventually.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Another NST on Friday. We’ve been bumped from weekly to biweekly.
Rants/Raves?
Given the dramas we’ve had with fluid level and baby taking their time before putting on enough of a show during NSTs, now that I am full term, they said I can be induced whenever I want...not sure how to make that call?!?! Really hoping to go into labor on my own and as a FTM, I know induction is less likely to be successful... ugh.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
That we got pregnant without intervention this time...that this baby is healthy...how sick I was for how long...that there will be a baby here super soon!
12/15 but rcs is Friday (12/8). Two more flipping days.
Sooooo, we're due this week! How's it going? Any labor symptoms or signs things are happening?
No signs of labor. I lost my plug a week ago but that was that.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list?
Just to have a pedicure and a date day with dd.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
It’s tomorrow. Just BP, pee, and last minute questions Before Friday.
Rants/Raves?
I have had a horrible stomach virus. It was awful. Fever, puking, diarrhea, cramps, etc. I am finally on the mend. Praying dd and DH don’t get it. We need a healthy home.
Rave: DH doesn’t do well with vomit, blood, etc but here he was last night cleaning up after me. I thought it was Sweet.
GTKY: What was your biggest surprise about pregnancy?
the whole pregnancy. Haha. I was on the pill and I still don’t even know what prompted me to take a test (besides my hemorrhoids flared up). I think I’m still in shock.
