As far as I can see no one has started this yet. Hopefully people can start their own weeks cause I'm too lazy :)

This is a weekly check in for people who are due the second week of May - 5/6-5/12.

How far along are you? When is your due date? What size is baby?

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

Any upcoming appointments?

GTKY: What's something that you are really good at?

  • @thunderberry I’m sure all is fine with baby, but since you OB is open to you coming in for a check, you should do it! Relieve that stress!
  • @babys_2018 I don’t like the head part of the snoogle (the hook, J-part). It hurts my head/ear when I rest my head on it. I need a softer pillow. I’m trying to use it reverse and keep my regular pillow, but I keep finding myself on my back in the AM and the snoogle on the ground.

have you found the J/head part uncomfortable?

  • @silverhope I didn't find it uncomfortable but recently I have. I just switched the J part to my legs last night and found it better. I think you can kinda change the shape a bit too.
I was also going on to my back so now I have the C as if it's spooning me, rather than having my back part open (if that makes sense). It helps a bit and then I don't push it off the bed haha. Sounds like we are having similar issues with it, but generally I find it super comfy and I love how fluffy/supportive  it is for my head and in between my legs.
Maybe try switching it around (head to toe part and back to front?)
You can also go on the snoogle website and they have a "how to snoogle" page that is helpful too with different visuals.

  • @babys_2018 Oh thank you! I didn’t realize they had tips on how to position it online. I’ll have to check that out. I’d tried the J part btwn my legs one time, but it annoyed me. Maybe I just gotta keep rearranging and snoogling ha. Thank you  :)

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I'm an emotional wreck and have been crying over stupid things every day. It's been great.
@silverhope right there with you! commercials, sad songs, viral facebook post ... i am now waterworks all the time!
  • @sandbar517 That is a seriously rough weekend. You did some serious momming. I hope both of your girls are feeling better and don't have any GI issues again for a long time (either end). And I'm really sorry about your friend. That would really shake me up. Life is very precious.

@littlegraybunny I feel like I am crying for even stupider reasons than commercials. It's like, I'm hungry and I cry bc I'm too tired to get/make food. It's the most pathetic thing. I hope my hormones (or brain) settles and this stops. Or, better yet, I just start toughening up ha.

  • @Ceridwen77 @kpc914 @babys_2018 What I wasn't really clear about was that she said to come back in for my anxiety/depression if it starts to get bad so we can talk about medication, which I'm not sure I want to do. So I'm not sure if maybe getting pushed into meds would be worth the reassurance of hearing the HB!

@silverhope @lincbeesmom haha sorry, I'm not sure my GTKY is that good, I thought it would be nice to think about good things about ourselves but then when I tried to answer it it also took me like 30 mins to come up with something to say :p maybe I should have left out the "really"!

@sandbar517 Man that is a super rough couple of days!! I'm glad there were some good things as well to help balance it out a bit.

  • @thunderberry I liked your GTKY! (And I appreciate you starting the thread!) Just made me realize that maybe I should pick up some hobbies  ;)

Also, have you ever tried meditation? I've been pretty emotional lately and my friend is encouraging me to go to a meditation class with her this month. She started a few months ago after a break up and she says it has been helping her a lot (she's going to regular therapy too, but she looks forward to meditation every week).

  • @sandbar517 wow....what a rough weekend! So sorry you had to deal with all of that and very sorry for the loss of your friend. <3

  • How far along are you? When is your due date? What size is baby?
    I am 17weeks 4days. Pomegranate size.

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
I had an OB appointment today. I am feeling pretty good, hips and pelvis still hurt but that's nothing new.

    Any upcoming appointments?
My BP was 100/60! Yay!!! I gained a pound in the last month, still -9lb from prepregancy weight though so I shouldn't complain. I am obsessed with both numbers and keeping close track since my history of pre eclampsia. I know it's a bit early to really be stressed about it yet but I am hoping to stay on top of it.

GTKY: What's something that you are really good at?
I don't think I am really spectacular at anything. I am good with numbers, good at cooking, and good at stressing myself out! :P
  • @silverhope I've tried it and been pretty awful at sitting still :p I have heard that a lot though so I should give it a shot. Because I love toys I'm tempted to buy one of those fancy mind reading devices to help me learn but I guess I should try the free kind first...
  • @babys_2018 that’s so cool we have so many dates in common!!

@thunderberry ahh I wouldn’t want to take meds either. But “discuss” is a pretty loose term so maybe you could still avoid meds and hear the HB? Or maybe get your own home Doppler?
  • How far along are you? When is your due date? What size is baby?
    17+5 - May 12
What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?
Pretty standard except these daily headaches ugh.  Rant - I think I only have a couple weeks left in my regular pants before switching to maternity - right in time for Christmas =)
    Any upcoming appointments?
My AS was scheduled for 12/14 but I have to reschedule

  • @Ceridwen77 agree this pregnancy is going faster - likely due to the toddler!  I can't believe we are almost half way!

@kpc914 sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.  Sorry to hear about the bleeding too.  I had some around 9 weeks and they couldn't find a reason for it.  I feel ya on the work front.  It's crazy how busy we are right now.  Just think of this- we won't have too much time to think about pregnancy in the next couple months so the rest of pregnancy should fly by, then it's baby time!  I will only have 2.5 weeks at work after the deadline due to repeat c- section.  Crazy to think about!

@babys_2018 when you said "I love my snoogle" I thought that was just what you called your baby until I read farther down about it being a pillow haha

  • @sandbar517 I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you're doing OK.  Sounds like an extremely rough weekend.
Also I am now freaking out about some of the mom duties to had to deal with this weekend!! Lol. Do I have to do that too?!? (Kidding of course)

@heelsidehero haha yeah snoogle is a pillow. I don't really have a bump/baby name we use right now but I guess I would have assumed the same.
  • @heelsidehero yes I definitely agree it’s the toddler! I can’t believe my AS is coming up so soon. I remember last time it took forever to get to that point!

@babys_2018 Thank you!  I am doing okay, like I said, we weren't super close, I'd only seen him in person a few times over the past year.  His viewing is tonight, it's just really hard to believe he's actually gone.  As far as the parent duties, yeah....they suck.  When people tell you that you will eventually be puked on, and pooped on, and everything else...believe them.  It's true.  It'll happen.  But the "best" part about it, is you just do it without even thinking about it, because they're your kids and you would do anything for them.

  • @heelsidehero Thank you! I am just relieved the bleeding stopped and that it wasn't anything obviously concerning. The zofran is helping with the vomiting and helps me eat more calories, so I am thankful for that. The new group I am switching to (venture capital clients) has a big push to get K-1's and everything out by 3/31 (we extend the actual returns and casually efile in April and May). My maternity leave starts April 6th! I need this winter vacation to get baby stuff organized because you are right, we won't have time to think about it during busy season. Unfortunately, I am still in the corporate group until 12/31 and our main partner called a meeting yesterday to politely say "expect to be working over Christmas break thanks to tax reform."
  • @kpc914 that is terrible!  I can't believe you are expected to work over Christmas!  Yay for your maternity leave starting 4/6 though!  I've been debating buying nursery furniture now because I know I won't have much time during busy season. I have already bought sheets and some of the other nursery decor just to get ahead of the game.
