Weekly Symptoms w/o Dec 3

Re: Weekly Symptoms w/o Dec 3

  • I love the GIF for this week!

I thought my symptoms were easing up, and while it's nowhere near as bad as 8 weeks, things started to drastically improve at week 11 but now being in week 12, I've hit a standstill and maybe even gone a little backwards. The gagging is strong, dead tired. I so badly want to put up Christmas decorations but I'm tired just thinking about it.

Anyone else have trouble telling the difference between cramping and stretching. It seems so silly to me because they are clearly opposite actions, but I can't tell what is going on besides knowing that it is mild discomfort. Everything looked great at ultrasound and during pap last week. I was hoping at week 12/13 I could stop being such a spaz with the worrying.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

  • STM woes.. dressed for church and I can no longer suck in my blump/fat.  Almost 12 weeks and I still look 5 months pregnant, lol!

When I doppled baby last week he/she was sitting much higher than I expected.  I guess this kid will enjoy squishing my insides and causing terrible heartburn too. :)
We are so excited to grow our family!

  • I just woke up and realized I didn’t wake up once to pee throughout the night. And nausea has been such a constant feeling for me, but I don’t feel it right now.

Im 10 weeks 5 days, is this just the second trimester feeling better starting?

Im def worried. I’ve felt pregnant constantly so far, so this is very different.

Anyone feeling the same? Any second tri moms felt the same relief? Or should I be more worried?

  • @lovetakesworkman second tri doesn’t start until between weeks 13 and 14. But symptoms can come and go, so even though you are still in first tri, I wouldn’t worry!
  • @marcus7676
    thanks for responding!
I know that I’m not in the second tri for a few more weeks, I just didn’t know if there was a transition period.
Did symptoms come and go for you?

  • @lovetakesworkman with DS, they definitely did. This time around they do as well - there are definitely times / days I feel worse.
  • @lovetakesworkman I noticed too around 10 weeks that my symptoms started to ease up a bit! I didn’t have super strong symptoms to begin with, but everything became easier around that week.

@amys614 yup! I find it gets worse if I haven’t had a proper BM in a while.

I’ll be 13 weeks tomorrow and thought most of my nausea/vomiting had improved but this past week it has come back with a vengeance! Since I’m having twins, my husband jokes that this is the 2nd baby’s first trimester woes.
  • 12 weeks today. Starting to get heartburn. I started feeling less nauseous around Thanksgiving, but in the last few days, it's back. My stupid gag reflex hits sometimes when clearing my throat, causing me to get sick the last few mornings. I want to eat all the food most of the time, even sometimes when I am feeling disgusting.
  • @lovetakesworkman I haven't had much for symptoms at all so it's totally normal. I want to request a NT scan just to make sure everything is still happening in there because I don't feel pregnant at all.

  • I'm more nauseas now at 12 weeks than I was at 9 weeks... blah. I'm going to have to call for a refill on meds, because that's the only thing getting me through the day. Fatigue is bad, but might be letting up a bit. Fingers crossed!
  • I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow so finally officially second trimester.  Nausea is all but gone, but heartburn and headaches are daily.  Sore nips are the worst- and possibly getting worse as time goes on.  I'm hoping to keep BFing DD for 4 more months... but even as I write 4 more months I cry a little inside. TMI but one of my nips is bruised and that was the side that had been hurting less- so I was favoring a bit. It makes her happy and keeps her healthy- so I'll suck it up, but wow this sucks.

@lovetakesworkman my symptoms eased up a bit than came back.  I also caught a stomach bug around week 9 as they were easing up, and was dealing with MS while recovering.  Luckily it was a short lived returned- but I've heard of some women who have MS throughout their pregnancies or not getting sick until 2nd tri.  Unfortunately, it's one of those times everyone says.. that's normal... no matter what you are feeling.

  • 12+4 and also on the “more nauseous than before” train.  I am sick of getting sick :(
  • @lovetakesworkman I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. I felt the worst weeks 7 & 8, and since week 9 I've felt progressively better every week on the nausea front. At this point I'm only nauseous when I go too long without eating.

AFM my sinus stuff/headache from last week developed into a slight cold (nothing major I've handled both well without meds), so I'm dealing with the last bits of that now. Spotting from last week has cleared up. Overall I am feeling better I even went to yoga yesterday and had enough energy to put up the Christmas tree.  I was a little concerned doing yoga when I was just spotting on Friday, but I had no issues. I am having to take heed to the not standing or sitting for more than 30 minutes thing, otherwise my left side hurts. Emotionally, DH is going from the sweetest person to the person I hate most in a matter of seconds.

  • I've suddenly been feeling more nauseous too, just in the late evenings though.  Overall though I feel a lot better than I did 3 weeks ago.  I still have trouble getting an appetite for food though.  And I still haven't gained any weight :(

  • I’ve noticed my arms & legs lose circulation so easily lately.. don’t think if that’s a normal pregnancy thing? Anyone else?
  • @bkrahn not experiencing that yet but I remember that happening a lot last time I was pregnant!
    H. Foxe born October 22, 2013
  • @bkrahn yes

anyone else super dizzy? I nearly fainted in the checkout line at the grocery store. Still don’t feel great.
  • @doxiemoxie212 - I get spells now.  I definitely see a relationship with my water intake.   I remember feeling dizzy pretty frequently with my first- it subsided after the first tri though.
  • @doxiemoxie212 when I was pregnant with DS we were out shopping and all of the sudden I got insanely dizzy and my vision started to blur and go black.  I couldn’t walk straight.  I was TERRIFIED and almost had them call an ambulance (which I am also terrified of).  Sitting and water helped and then my OB called back and said it is “normal” during pregnancy and to eat and have some sugar.  I wish they had warned me in advance about that happening.
  • @kmurdock925 @Miz_Liz yeah, I ate a slice of cake I bought (lol to lure myself into grocery shopping I always promise myself tiramisu) and drank a ton of water, but it honestly didn't really help. I feel like maybe it was a combination of standing in one place in line for too long? Or the heat in the store? IDK. The walk home was ROUGH. I called DH at work while I was walking in case I passed out en route...  :# I feel better now that I'm home laying down.
  • I had heart issues the last time I was pregnant  (palpitations and tachycardia). I've started having palpitations again already, so I have a feeling the tachycardia may come back later on as my blood volume continues  to increase. Thankfully, I know my heart is healthy and fine (thanks to my cardiologist), but it is still annoying and a bit scary when it happens.
  • I just stopped B6 and Unisom and now I wake up super alert at 4 am. I remember this happening in 3rd trimester with other pregnancies. Maybe it happened this early but I forget. It's this weird intense alertness without anxiety or anything on my mind.  I'm just up for about 20 minutes. This a.m. I went downstairs, got a snack, and put on infomercials 'til I fell asleep on the couch. DH says I loved him and left him cause we DTD last night.

@doxiemoxie212 licorice tea, salt, and sugar all help when I feel faint. (Raises blood pressure.) Edit: Just googled and the interwebs say licorice root tea is a no no during pregnancy.
  • 11weeks and 4 days today and I’m still puking. Yesterday morning it was all of breakfast and tonight all of dinner. Boo. Last pregnancy there was almost nothing and it was over by week nine. Grumble grumble grumble.

  • These pimples, though,  you guys. I have what looks like a mosquito bite on my neck but is actually an unpoppable massive pimple.
  • Heartburn is fun.  :(

  • @llamamama14 for real though, what is up with all these damn pimples?! Small ones, big ones, skinny ones, fat ones. I'm so over them.
  • @llamamama14 What's up with all these pimples?!  I usually have sensitive skin anyway and I always seem to have a pimple at any given time, but this is nuts.  My chin is a minefield.  I thought we were supposed to be glowing :(

  • Skin still terrible, exhausted and nauseated most of the time. I am wide awake around 3 am every morning---so I don't bother to try and go back to sleep anymore.
I get super dizzy and feel faint in the afternoon and just want to sleep. Had to take off yesterday I couldn't even get out of bed. But I had my first OB appointment yesterday and got more blood taken and did the glucose tolerance test. Hoping good news from them. Doc said I was dehydrated so I am working on that.
I got to listen to the heartbeat yesterday in the office and was thrilled. Makes all the sickness worth it. She said this little fishy is moving around a great deal.

  • @kfren I’m twelve weeks today and I’m going through the same thing. Some days all I want to do is eat. Other days my gag reflux is so strong and acid reflux kicks in. Come on second trimester.

Oh man I wish my face would have a little extra oil.... It's been so dry, literally crumbling skin cells from my forehead! :s I'm trying to lube it up with coconut oil and lotion but it's not helping. Guess the dry skin= boy wives tale is true in my case.
  • I have pimples on my face but dry skin on my body. I've been doing coconut oil but it's kind of a pain to apply. Any body lotion recommendations? (Not to fancy or pricey. Something I can buy in large quantities.)
  • @Llamamama that’s how I was with DD. What worked for me was to switch to Dove nutrium body wash instead of my scented one and then used something by Nivea that was like a lotion you applied in the shower after washing.

This time my skin has been okay but my scalp is a major issue. I’ve tried every Pinterest concoction out there. Now I’m just using coconut oil to my scalp a couple times a week, but it’s only helping minimally.

  • @llamamama14 honestly the unscented aveeno lotion for dry skin has been best for me, and I have extreeemely dry skin. I also often will rub myself down with jojoba oil before I get out of the shower, slightly rinse it off, then towel off before I apply lotion. It helps the hydration last longer, in my experience.

Also team super dry skin but terrible zits popping up so thats fun.
  • Back in pimple city over here too  :s like, whyyy.

also I think I might actually be going crazy. Poor DH & DD. I’ve been so irrational this week and crying over every single thing and of course DD picked this week to become a stereotypical toddler, and the gas attendant at the gas station made me pump my own fuel in the freezing cold today and my neck has been out of whack so I’ve been spending a million dollars at my chiropractors office and just, blahhh. I need a vacation
  • Apparently headaches are just a part of my everyday life now. I had a really bad one on Saturday pretty much all day. Last night I got one right at bed time, perfect. It was gone when I woke up but now it's back. I know I can take Tylenol but I'm avoiding it unless I absolutely need it. I have been diffusing a head ease blend but sometimes too much scent makes it worse.

  • @krashke The same has been happening to me - I've never had so many headaches before within a certain period of time.  Not long into first tri I had a mild headache through the day and when it came to go to sleep it turned into a full on migraine.  I couldn't rest my head against anything and sat with ice behind my head for a solid 2 hours before it eased.  I didn't have any Tylenol at the time either.  I also try to avoid taking pills but the next time I felt a really bad one coming I took a Tylenol straight away to avoid going through that again!
  • I live by this lotion while pregnant.  I stock up when it's on sale...bath and body works.  It is super thick
