How old are your other kids? DS is 3.5
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- Rant- Woke up with a sore throat today. Rave- one of my book club ladies offered me all her girl clothes. Her daughter is about 5 months old. Totally stoked about that! Questions- What are the things you "need" for a second baby that I might not be thinking about? We have saved essentially everything from DS, but I feel like I might be missing some things.
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again? The first time I saw Wicked, I was so awestruck. I hadn't listened to the music before going it and it was such a fun ride. I kind of wished I would have done that with Hamilton, but I couldn't help myself.

We succesfully binky weaned our daughter!! It was so much easier than I expected too! Next up is potty training over Xmas, and then I’ll feel really ready for this LO.

She just turned 11 months this week
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)-
I have all raves this week! My daughter has been so so sweet and fun lately. She's started following commands and her latest ones are giving hugs and blowing kisses. I'm crying just thinking about her hugging her little brother/sister. Also, my friend's wedding is this Saturday and it's going to be the first time my husband and I have been out for the night without the baby. We've gone to dinner twice before but were only gone for an hour. It's a little bittersweet but I'm looking forward to the adult-only time!
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
Hmm I can't think of anything better so I'll say I wish I could do Christmas as a kid over again. I don't remember ever believing in Santa, my older brother probably ruined it for me, so it'd be fun to experience that magic for the first time.
Boy/Girl/ Team Green/Surprise? Boy! -- Found out right before Thanksgiving!
How old are your other kids? DD is 2.5
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I thought DD was finally ready to not cry during her Santa visit this year but after talking about it today, she got very upset when I told her she was supposed to sit on Santa's lap to tell him what she wants for Christmas and that Mommy and Daddy would be taking a picture of her and not sitting with her. I wonder how we can make this happen...
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again? The movie Frozen. DD loves it even though she's only seen videos and not the whole movie. I wish I could watch the whole movie with her (we're waiting until she's 3) and make it be both our first times.
@ceridwen77 Yay for no more binky! Glad it was easier than you thought, and good luck potty training!
Editing for more tagging. @fraufarbissina I think that's a good answer, I would love to go back and have the magical Santa Christmas again, too!
@maplemom18, I finally gave up. My kids would be fine talking about him (or the Easter Bunny or whoever) and even seeing him from afar, but sitting on his lap was a firm no. I just skipped it the past few years, the stress wasn't worth it. I *might* try again this year. Would she be okay to stand by him instead of sitting on his lap? Or what if you or Daddy could be in the picture with her?

How old are your other kids?
3.5 year old twin girls
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)-
Rant-Work is annoying today. I normally sit around looking for things to do and three thousand things popped up today that need to be attended to.
Rave-It's already Wednesday, short week for me (I took Monday off) and MH's cousin's wedding is this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that. We also found a storage facility yesterday to start putting some of our stuff in so we can get ready to put our house on the market, and get our Christmas tree. (We used to put part of our couch in the girls' playroom to make room for the tree, but there are too many toys in there to do it this year)
Questions- I think we're hitting some kind of 3.5 year terrorist regression. Their behavior the past few days has been intolerable, and nothing we say/do has any effect on their behavior at. all. So frustrating. Guess that's another rant.
Real question-This might get a little long, sorry. The past few months, Abby has been sleeping on the floor by the night light because she's scared of ghosts. Whatever, as long as she's sleeping, I don't really care. The past few nights, Hannah has decided she wants to sleep on the floor with Abby, so neither of them have been using their toddler beds. Our original plan was to just buy a third crib for this baby and keep the girls in their toddler beds (used to be cribs). Does it make more sense to just buy a full/queen bed so they can sleep together and use one of their cribs for the baby, or just keep them in their toddler beds to let them still have their "own" space when they want it? Thoughts/opinions?
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
This is such a good question. I think there are a lot of books and movies that I would love to be able to watch/read again with a surprise ending. The first Outlander book was so amazing, I would love to experience that for the first time again. I can't think of anything else right now, I'll come back and edit if I do.

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)- I feel like I’ve ranted sufficiently about sleep and paci stuff elsewhere, lol.
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again? I think the one that blew my mind the most was Les Miserables. I saw the broadway version before the movie and before I really had any idea what it was. So amazing!
ETA I guess I'm just worried about not giving them their own space often enough and treating them too much like "the twins" instead of two independent children, which we really try to stay cognizant of.

GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
Theres a few really great books I've read that I wouldn't mind having that first experience with again. Outlander comes to mind.
First time horseback riding would be great too! I'm definitely not an avid rider but I can still recall the first time and it was so neat!!
and wow Outlander was mentioned multiple times. I don’t even know what this book is (do I live in a closet??). Maybe I have to check this out.

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)-
DH and I ordered an exercise bike and a treadmill as Christmas presents for each other. I'm really excited about it! My weight gain has been crazy because I haven't been feeling great. My energy level has improved and I've been feeling better, so I am hoping to get more active.
I am with anyone struggling with sleep issues right now. DS has decided sleeping is no fun. He gets up several times at night. The other night he got up at 9:30 and announced he was going to be doing a flip... No son... you're going to bed.
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
I have several books that I would love to "relive".
@fraufarbissina that is such a fun age!
@maplemom18 DS FREAKED out on Santa when he was 18 months old, but he was okay last year. He does better when we go with his older cousins and sits with them.
@sandbar517 I'm stoked to use my Tula again. I wish I had bought it earlier with DS. I do need to get the infant insert for it, though. Also, plus one to the 3.5 year old terrorist phase. Sometimes he is so sweet and other times I feel like I have hit my absolute limit with his behavior. To me, three is the hardest age after the newborn phase. I feel like either of your solutions for the crib/bed work. Do you feel like they would like to sleep in the same bed? Could you have a full/queen and then have a trundle bed or toddler bed in the same room if they need their own space?
@Pearlvirus stay strong with the paci! You can do it!
@onesmallcoconut good luck with potty training!
@JNCPro3130 those are awesome gifts. Having a treadmill at home has really helped me stay motivated.
I am wondering if we should buy an all new crib for number 3 or buy 2 toddler beds for like $60 each and put the twins in those, convert one of their beds back into a crib for new baby and put the other in storage for when we're ready to transition them into twin beds and then buy baby 3 a bed when the time is right. Does that make sense?
Also Hunger Games, books and movies. I have a weird obsession with them.
I get your question about the beds. I don’t think any of them are “wrong”. I would do whatever is cheapest! Book of Mormon was amazing. Have you seen Avenue Q? Equally inappropriate.
@Ceridwen77 congrats on the binky! Hopefully potty training goes smoothly as well!
@suchaglencoco @sandbar517 I mean whatever you do I'm sure will work out, but if it was me I'd probably just turn one of the toddler beds back to a crib for new baby. (Or leave one crib for new baby) and do two toddler beds. @sandbar517 would two twin size beds be feasible? You could easily push them together if they want to be closer but then also move them apart when they are ready for more space. Or just keep them near each other and they could probably crawl into the same one if they want to snuggle. Just a thought, take it or leave it!

Rants/Raves/Questions? It's just been a tough week for a lot of reasons. But my kid has been awesome and so sweet. Also I let him pick out a new Christmas decoration. It's a snowman from Target that sings Let It Snow and dances and spins around. It's a rave because he likes to do the dance with the snowman and it's cute. But it's a rant because I have to hear this song over and over.
GTKY: everyone has way better answers than me. I really like the question I just can't think of much. But I'm sure there is something that'll come to mind about 3:30 when I get up to pee! (Sorry I've just had a crappy day and think my brain is on overload to think of a better answer)
@theletlers, I did chuckle about him announcing his flip after I got him to bed. I'm sure it would be epic! lol
@suchaglencoco, I thought surprise meant that maybe baby didn't cooperate during the US. Maybe people want to know (and therefore not team green), but the sex was unclear.
@mileswithmyles thank you lol I need all the luck I can get.
@ceridwen77 Outlander is a book series by Diana Gabaldon set right after WWII, an English nurse and her husband have been apart during the war and go on a "second honeymoon" to Scotland after the war is over. She "falls through" a stone circle to 1740s (not sure if that's the exact time period, but you get the idea) and ends up falling in love with one of the men she meets there. Conflict over falling in love vs already being married, will she ever get back to her "own time" etc, etc. SOOO good. I'm not typically into sci-fi/time travel, but this one is so good that if you don't think too hard about the time travel part, it's just a really good historical romance. It's now also a show on Starz. (@onesmallcoconut and @JNCPro3130 I love the casting, too. I thought I would automatically hate whoever they cast as Jamie because he just wouldn't look like the Jamie I had imagined in my head, but uhhh yeah....they did well LOL)
@JNCPRo3130 The flip made me lol, too. Sorry you're having sleep issues, though. Too little, or crappy, sleep is not something I tolerate well. Makes me a little nervous of how to handle a newborn and still take care of toddlers all day. Eek.
@mileswithmyles and everyone else with sleep suggestions, thanks! Those are all good ideas. When I asked them last night if they want one big bed to sleep in together, they said yes. But there are definitely times where one wants to hug/hold hands/love on the other one and the other wants nothing to do with it. Which is why I thought a bigger bed would work better, so they could still have some extra room. @theletlers I THINK two twin beds would fit in their room, they had the two cribs/toddler beds and it's not super crowded, so that might be an option, too. We're also trying to sell our house, though, and the realtor keeps telling us to declutter, so I think having one queen bed would make the bedroom look bigger than two toddler/twin beds. Just another thought to keep in mind for us.
Also mileswithmyles and theletlers, my MIL has this Christmas ornament of a hippo and it sings "I Want A Hippopotamus for Christmas" and it's SOOO annoying (added to the fact that my MIL feels the need to sing along with it every.time.) I had to hide it last year because the girls kept hitting the button and it drove me crazy.

We finally got through Leap 8 which has been a doozy. Now we have two molars coming in. It feels like there is always something going on. I think we are days away from walking though!
I feel like I am waiting to find out the sex of the baby to do so much planning. We're basically set if we have a girl and if we are having a boy then I need to find someone/somewhere to donate DD's clothes to. I want them out of my garage if we don't need them.
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
This is a good one, there are so many! I would say seeing Titanic in theaters, Rent live and Whitney Houston in concert. These are all moments that I remember vividly and really stick out to me!
@mileswithmyles, yup. DH will ask where a book is and I'll point to one of the couches because I'll shove them under real quick, haha.

Rants - I hate not having cravings. I dread deciding what to eat at meal time. Also, my son keeps kicking, being rough, pushing on my belly and it makes me nervous.
Raves - I started feeling some movement, yay!
GTKY: What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
Harry Potter for sure!!! (Books)
Also, had no idea about the HP picture book! Will be googling now!
ETA - I googled and only found the illustrated version. is that what you are talking about or is there a younger version that is mostly pictures and not the full story?
Sorry it is just an illustrated version of SS, not a picture book.

There’s so much going on in this thread and I haven’t had any real time to read everything til just now. I’m a little overwhelmed so I’m just going to start fresh with next week’s tomorrow...
Thats how I feel most weeks. I typically don't have time at the beginning of the week and it takes me forever to catch up! Most times I just have to let things go and respond to the most recent comments.
