Re: Due Date Check-In (EDD 12/1-12/9) - Week of 11/27
12/15 but c section is 12/8
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
I am so excited and so freaking out. People say when are you due, I’m like she’ll be here next Friday. Ha
i Laotian my mucus plug tonight after a cervical check. Oddly enough I was 0 dilated so I guess my dr dislodged it.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
I just have little stuff left. Buy a new phone, clean the house, pack last min items, buy a mirror for the car.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
My next one is routine. It’s my last one before I ahbe her.
Rants/Raves
I’m tired and just ready to be done.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
All decor is up. We have bought christmas
for dd1, my nephew and my mil. Still have that to do.
What's your EDD?
Technically 12/15 but RCS scheduled for 12/7!
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
I am sooo ready to meet this littl big guy. I am definitely experiencing anxiety about the delivery but so ready. I've had TMI loose bowels for over a week, and a ton of braxton hicks; based on yesterday's cervical check, he's really low, my cervix is thinned out but no dilation. I'm fully expecting to make it to my 12/7 date.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
i have to pre-register at the hospital which I had started to do last May and never finished lol I'll do that tomorrow. Other than that, clothes are washed, bags are packed, Majority of Xmas shopping is done and pack and play and crib are both now fully assembled. I'm as ready as I'll ever be lol. I do need to sanitize pump parts, bottles and binkies but was trying to wait as long as possible to do that. Oh and DH needs to install infant car seat base into his car but my guess is he will do that day we leave hospital. I had mine installed already.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I have a growth scan on Thursday and then a final OB appt and Biophysical profile early next week.
Rants/Raves
I can't believe I'm going to meet this little miracle next week!! At some points this pregnancy seemed to drag on endlessly and at others, it seemed to fly by. This is my last one so I'm savoring these last few days of his inside kicks and then my cuddles witH DS1. He and I are super close so I am a bit worried how our relationship is going to change but I have no doubts he will be the best big brother.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
We have all of our decorations in a corner - we are getting our tree Sat night so Sunday we prob will spend most of the day decorating. I am done with the majority of my shopping though I have a maybe 3-4 gifts to get but the boys are done except stocking stuffers which I put DH in charge of this year so who knows what that will look like lol. After Bronx is born, I do have to get his baby first Christmas ornament and then figure out Christmas cards. I didn't want to send them out without him since I knew he would be here before Christmas. i have a friend who is a photographer so she is going to come by and take some Christmas pictures when we get home from the hospital for me so I could avoid having to go to the mall.

GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
I am having ALL the pre labor symptoms with none of the progression! Ok that’s not totally true, having lost mucus plug and no spotting, but all the rest, including the feeling that my pelvis is being ripped in two.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
I just have to clean, we have a cleaning person who comes tomorrow, but she’s also very pregnant and hasn’t been doing the best job lately, so I will be tidying up behind her. I’m also sure I will find a million more things around the house that need organization, but honestly we are ready for this kiddo to get here!
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Monday is my last OB appt before induction. So just weight, BP, FHT, measure belly, and pee in a cup. Nothing special
Rants/Raves
I can’t imagine making it to induction. I’m so tired and constantly miserable, so miserable that it’s imlossible to sleep.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
I put up decorations over the weekend, just a few wintery things as we don’t really celebrate Christmas/aren’t religious. We generally don’t do gifts for each other or our families, so there’s not really anything to do (which is nice!). Just managing the daily “is he here yet?” texts is keeping me busy enough

12/4, with an induction scheduled for 12/10 if he hasn't arrived by then (lord I hope I don't make it that long).
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
So crazy! I'm completely ready to meet him, but will miss feeling his kicks all day long. And I have almost no labor symptoms which is making me kind of sad, I feel totally left out reading about everyone else's regular contractions/dilations/plug losses!
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
Feeling pretty prepared, even after a mini-meltdown yesterday. The carseat bases are installed, the bassinet is set up and the hospital bags are packed and ready to go. Plus DH & I put together lists of To-Do's for when I go into labor (reminders of what to bring) and when he comes home after I've had the baby. At this point we're really just waiting around for labor to start so I can call DH and pull him out of work until January.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I assume it'll be a regular check-in with weight, BP, urine, etc. She hasn't checked me for dilation/effacement or done any measurement ultrasounds since my 20-week A/S, so I have no clue how progressed I am or how big this baby is going to be... the unknown is a little terrifying. I might ask her to check my cervix, just so I know something (even though it could mean absolutely nothing).
Rants/Raves
Rave to my DH who has been amazingly supportive, especially now that we're nearing D-Day. Rant to my inability to sleep and appetite confusion (I'm either not hungry at all, or taking down an entire pizza by myself, there is no in between).
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
This week I put up the outside wreath and a few indoor decorations, and if the little guy isn't here by the weekend we'll probably go get a small-ish tree. I love holiday decorating, but it's amazing how exhausting everything is now... I have no idea how my persnickety pregnant self is going to handle lights/ornaments.

GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms? I still feel like I’m going to be pregnant forever! No pre-labor symptoms to speak of.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week? After the crib gets delivered today (after a 3 month wait!!), we are pretty set. I’ve made a lot of progress in the last week (laundry, thank you notes, naps lol) since maternity leave started. Also cooked a lot and froze some leftovers for post-partum. After the bottles are sterilized, I am going to be twiddling my thumbs till baby gets here.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc? My weekly appointments have been uneventful (thankfully)- fundal measurement, doppler, cervical check, weight, bp/urine tests
Rants/Raves I woke up starving at 4am this morning. Thank goodness for banana bread!
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going? We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah but usually don’t do much for either, aside from exchanging gifts. This year I am putting up a little Christmas tree and menorah for our little guy- just waiting for all the supplies to arrive!
12/5
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
Ughhhhh!!!! Nothing!!! Just like my first...not even dilated and although he is head down he's too high (head not engaged in pelvis).
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
We still don't have a name!!!!! Other than that I think mostly everything is done.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
It will be 40 week appointment so it will be making some decisions because he won't let me go to 41 weeks. Plus I am trying for VBAC and he said he wants me to go into labor on my own so we'll see. I'm concerned baby is going to be huge just like my first.
Rants/Raves
rants: let's get this started!!! I'm done!! Oh and my son is sick and was coughing in my face all morning during cuddle time!
raves: he's the cutest though!

Decorations done!!!! Still need to do shopping but will eventually get it done or I'll just use the excuse I just had a baby to get out of a lot!
12/7, 38+6 today
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
I'm ready. I didn't mention it here but I was in l&d last week for what turned out to be some mild contractions (all I felt was some new pain at the top of my bump and I was concerned about the placenta). I had dilated to 1cm (at 0 a week before) and while waiting an hour for the second check to see if I was progressing, H and I were able to square it all away emotionally that this might be it. It wasn't, but since then we feel ready to welcome baby home any time.
So far I've lost a bit of mucus plug, had some contractions (I think, based on the monitor at l&d I maybe know what to feel for?), BH have gotten more intense and wake me up from sleeping, and I went from always constipated to loose bms for about a week now. At my checkup yesterday the doctor was like, yep, just sounds like your body is getting ready!
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
Still need to install the carseat! H is getting something fixed on the car today or tomorrow and I'm hoping he surprises me by coming home with an installed and inspected carseat haha. Since last week I washed and packed baby's essentials for the hospital bag, and found a comfy open-front bra to labor in. So I'm close to having the hospital bag ready.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Yesterday's was pretty perfunctory. I declined the cervical check because they're uncomfortable and I realized I'm not going to get excited unless I'm at like a 5 haha. I'll get one next Tuesday.
Rants/Raves
Tomorrow I'm 39 weeks, and my doc will let me go to 41 weeks before we talk about induction. I'm really trying to take it a day at a time because two more weeks seems so long to be so on edge about whether I'll get to meet this baby. I'm making sure baby is kicking about every 2 hours, including all through the night, so the anxiety and fatigue is wearing on me.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
I finally put up most of the decorations and tchotchkes last night, minus the tree. SB for tree whinging:

GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
Petrified with excitement. Just really hoping to make it the the 1st. No pre-labor symptoms yet, haven't even lost my mucus plug yet. But my Dr is concerned about his size, in the 90th percentile, and my higher than average fluid volume.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
Finally got may portion of the hospital bag packed, just need to get hubby to do his part or at least figure out which camera he wants to bring and make sure the batteries are charged. The last big "projects" on my to do list are finishing putting away the baby laundry, organizing the nursery, and cleaning the kitchen.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Have an appointment today, which I think is just a vitals and measurement check. Next week we have another growth scan. And the receptionist set us up with another appointment for the week after that " just in case".
Rants/Raves
I haven't been able to put my own socks on for a few weeks, so I was super excited about going on maternity leave and just wear sandals everywhere. Thankfully we live in a Southern California beach city, so it's completely acceptable to wear sandals everyday of the year and even into the fanciest of establishments. However my new problem is not being able to scrub my own feet. No matter how hard I've tried, siting down in the shower, on a stool, or contorting myself into some sort of Cirque do Soleil position it just doesn't work. I can reach my toes but I can't maintain the position long enough to actually scrub them
I'm also getting fed up with the whole shaving blind thing. I'm seriously considering laser hair removal after I've healed so I don't have to deal with it anymore.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
12/9. I thought our midwife practice would let me go 'til 42 weeks if necessary, but just found out at the appointment yesterday that they *officially* recommend inducing right at 40 weeks due to my age, but that there is some flexibility "with favorable testing" to let things go until maybe 41 weeks. I have already been going for weekly US and NST, and all have been very good.
We're talking with our doula tonight to come up with a plan, and perhaps start trying a bunch of stuff for natural induction right around our EDD, with a backup induction at the hospital scheduled sometime for the following week.
I know my DW is going to want to be more cautious about this than I am, I'd really *much* prefer to give it a bit more time (with extra screenings if all keeps looking good), to give time for labor to happen naturally.
Trying to stay calm, keep walking, moving and stretching, and hope for the best!
Baby is definitely head down, and is definitely at least starting to drop, based on how my pelvis feels, and the waddle walk. Lol.
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
So excited! (and nervous, and all of the feels).
I've had Braxton-Higgs for weeks now, but they might be getting a bit stronger recently, and occasionally I have woken up with one or two.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
Feeling pretty prepared! And at this point just tired and ready to let go of what isn't all done and set up by now. We have the basics done, and I just want to relax.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Wednesday- next weekly midwife appointment, and DW will join me so we can ask a zillion questions about scheduling for an induction and make that decision together. I also will have an US and NST afterwards, as I've had for the past 3 weeks.
Rants/Raves
Today is my last official day working in the office!!!! I work from home Fridays, and starting next week, I'm working from home 'til baby decides to come. I can't wait to just get some more downtime, and be home and able to stretch/move/lie down when I need to.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
We've done NO hanukkah shopping, and have the big extended family hanukah party scheduled for December 16th which we may or may not be attending.... We give little gifts to all of the little ones under bar/bat mitzvah age, which I think is 14 kiddos this year between cousins and nieces and nephews. Pretty sure we'll just order a small gift card for each one, and maybe get something little and cute for the 3 babies. I can have my mom or sister wrap and bring to the party if needed, so I'm not that worried about it.
We also celebrate Christmas with DW's side of the family. I have 1 gift I still need to buy for that family's gift exchange, which I really want to take care of this weekend. We bought a tiny tabletop tree, that's not decorated yet, but we have stuff out to decorate with.

Granted I was not AMA at the time, but they still recommended induction at 41 weeks, which I held off. I did get acupressure the night before I went into labor, which I think helped.
This time I am bring more proactive (I'm also AMA now) and will be starting acupuncture a few days before my due date and requesting a membrane sweep at my next (39+3) appt. if I'm dilated.
Good luck!

How Any pre-labor symptoms?
Just a lot of pains and yesterday I had back contractions for like an hour
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
I have a lot to still get done. My motivation has disappeared
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
I'm waiting on a phone call from the OB saying the hospital has an opening to induced.
Rants/Raves
DH doesn't understand how much rest I need. I tried to take a nap yesterday evening and he kept waking me to deal with the kids. I refused to let him stay home with all 3 kids while I'm in the hospital (I'll come home to a destroyed house that I've been trying to keep up on lately) unfortunately my father-in-law completely lost sight in one the past 3 weeks they can't drive over. (He's known for about 6 months he was going to lose his vision in that eye) my mother-in-law refuses to drive in the "city" the city we live by is extremely tiny. It's not like we live in Chicago. Anyways so my husband has to take all the kids to their house when I go into labor or right before we go to the hospital to get induced. And they live a few hours away and we weren't wanting to take the kids out of school but now we have to. Ugh
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
I got most the gifts wrapped and we went and cut down our tree last weekend and got that put up. My sister wants to host Christmas and I refuse to go to her house. My brother and SIL are really busy so they can't host it then they asked me to host it. I told them no, one I have a bunch of appointments that week for all my kids and I'm going to have a newborn. I just said that we should meet at a restaurant. My brother and SIL love that idea and my sister hated it.

Have to take the crib apart and put in the replacement parts, still have to pack a bag but all in all I feel ready.

It's been scheduled for the day after my due date hopefully I won't make it.
At my last appointment I was 60% effaced and 1cm dilated.
Rants/Raves
You would think that they would make the diaper pail bags one size fits all but nope not the case had to return some last night because they fit the brand I have but not the model.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
I don't have to do holiday prep except for what I want to give as gifts we are going to my grandmother's house.
We'll have more information after the next midwife appointment on Wednesday as well, when they'll do the first vaginal exam in a few weeks.
Fingers crossed! Doing what I can and also just trying my best to relax.

GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
Pelvic pain central over here! The pressure and weight I could handle if it wasn't for the random bouts of searing, excruciating pain that comes from my left hip joint while doing super strenuous activities such as walking to the bathroom or waddling from the couch to the refrigerator. It feels like the joint is actually popping out and catching on something? At any rate, I have to lay flat and take the pressure off my hips as much as possible to help keep me functioning at this point. I hate feeling like an invalid, especially when there's so much to do...
I'm mentally as ready as I'll ever be to give birth and have my life change forever so, in that respect, bring it on, little man! Husband says he feels the same, but we shall see, right?
Well ladies it's official we will be having December babies! 3 of my kids out of 4 will be December babies!

very few. BH, think I saw a little mucus plug, but other than that nothing exciting
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
We still have a lot to finish, but I'm feeling a lot more prepared. The dresser/changing table is about done and my hospital bag is basically packed.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Tuesday we'll be talking about the details for induction either Thursday or Friday if he doesn't come on his own. Since I'm expecting that induction may make the day go down in infamy, I'm pulling for Thursday (12/7).
Rants/Raves
Rant: I thought I'd be done with work after today, but I'm now not sure I'll have enough vacation time to get all the way to induction without picking up another shift. Boo. Planning to tempt fate as much as possible this weekend. Maybe I'll get lucky and labor will start.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
we're not super far but the tree is up and, lucky for us, the dog seems pretty disinterested. We'll probably finish decorating once baby gets here because we're still finalizing our name choice.
What's your EDD? Dec 30th, but we’re inducing on the 9th since I’ve got mo/di twins
GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
I feel soooooo ready and sooooooooooo scared at the same time. Excited to have them, but also, like WTF am I going to do with 2 babies? No labor symptoms except occasional contractions. Nothing exciting.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
Im feeling really prepared. My bag is mostly
packed, the nursery is ready to rock, car seats are installed. I just have to get out the pack n play and clean it. It was donated by my moms friend, so I’ve got to make sure it works in our room for the twins first months. And I have to schedule my housekeeper to come Friday so my house is perfect when I get home.
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
We had a growth scan yesterday - Baby A is measuring 5.4oz and Baby B is measuring 5.9oz, so we’re good there. No questions or concerns. We have 3 more appts next week, so maybe we’ll think of something by then.
Rants/Raves
You know, I don’t really have any rants! I’m feeling ok, aside from being hella pregnant with twins. I feel excited and happy to meet these Little’s and find out what they look like and snuggle them and make my husband a dad. No negatives are coming out of that and that feels fucking good.
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
DONE AND DONE!! We got our trees up
the day after thanksgiving, the house has been sufficiently covered in wintery decor, and all the gifts have been purchased and will be wrapped today. I LOOOOOVE wrapping Christmas gifts. I have a whole wrapping paper station and I do a new theme every year, so I’m excited to get going on that. My husband is planning on putting the lights up outside today with his dad. They’ll just bicker their way through it, I’m sure lol. But we’re ready to go, so if these girls come, we can solely focus on them and not Christmas crap.
Everyone enjoy your week! I can’t wait to see some squishy baby pics!

GUYS, We're due this week/next week!! How do you feel about that? Any pre-labor symptoms?
My OB did a membrane sweep on Friday to hurry things along (because she is going away for the weekend the day after my EDD- GAH). Since then I have had mild contractions that are not regular and major lightning crotch.
What's the biggest thing left on your to-do list? Or are you feeling pretty prepared? Do you feel like you've made progress since last week?
My DH has been wonderful letting me rest and doing everything around the house. All that’s left really is laundry and all the cuddles with my DD (21 month’s).
What does your next appointment look like? Any special tests or questions/concerns you plan to bring up with your doc?
Next appointment is the morning of my EDD, I will be asking for extra “stirring up” if we make it till then thankyouverymuch.
Rants/Raves
Rant- I feel extra anxious to get this going (my first was a surprise water break at 37 weeks)
Rave- I feel super supported by my DH
GTKY: Have you begun holiday prep (or already finished)? How is it going?
We moved to a 2brm in July but it has less space in the living room for a tree. I might put up decorations around the apartment and attempt putting up a tree on the wall made of Christmas lights or our favorite ornaments tomorrow
