It's Monday after a holiday weekend there's got to be some things to b*tch about.

Ugh! I just spent the past 5 days with my sister who was in from out of town. It was fun for the most part but I would be lying if I said she didn't annoy the heck out of me. Weird, because we normally get along so well.

Selfishly started this morning...

So we told the majority of our immediate family this weekend. We told my in-laws on Wednesday night and my MIL asked if she could tell the family. I said that they will find out in a couple of weeks anyway when we send out Christmas cards so sure. I didn't think it was a big deal if a few more aunts and uncles knew. So she's calling family on Thursday morning and tells her brother. Later he sends out a text to basically everyone in their family, including my BIL who didn't know yet, saying "Happy Thanksgiving to all and congratulations to Mr. Krashke and Krashke on the baby!" 

Like seriously!?! Are you actually that dense? It isn't your news to share. If you wanted to congratulate us, you could have sent a text to just us. 

It's not that big of a deal and MH handled it all. He let everyone on the group text know it's not public yet and texted his brother directly to apologize that he had to find out from their uncle and he doesn't really care. So maybe its the hormones but it made me so angry.

Ooh me! Me! I have some complaints. Everyone in the house is sick. Baby, husband, me - we are all headed to the doctor. Baby and husband have fevers. Talked to my sister and her and my dad are sick as well as my dad’s bandmates. Awesome. I’m not sure what they can do for me because I’m pregnant, but I’m scared it might be the flu so I’m going to go ahead and be seen even though I don’t have the fever everyone else has.

@Austenista I hope you feel better! Being sick and pregnant totally sucks.  I had such a bad viral infection at the beginning of this pregnancy that i thought i had the flu too.  They definitely can't do much, but hopefully they have some advice!

AFM: My MBF, is work and my annoying colleague next to me. At 6:45am she harassed me about the meeting that was "supposed" (it was never set in stone) to be held today to talk to the students about their behavior.  1 - no one in their right mind is going to spend their break putting this together, to yell at the kids on their first day back.  2 - just because YOU are having problems with the kids, doesn't mean everyone is.  3 - The talk is going to benefit those students that are STILL suspended.  4 - Get over yourself and your "better than everyone" attitude 5 - Bitch, you're just jealous I beat you out for Department Chair.  

TL:DR - my co worker sucks and is a bitch

@krashke that sucks, I'm sorry.  I don't know why people think they have the right to announce other people's news (babies, engagements, etc.).  You have the right to be angry - - its not just hormones.

Our mother effing kitchen sink has been leaking for god knows how long, and I only discovered it last night. Why did it take me so long to figure it out, you ask? Oh, it's because I bought a bunch of kleenex boxes in bulk from Amazon and had been storing them under the sink. So I only just discovered it because they became so saturated with gross dirty sink water that they could no longer absorb any more water. 

My enthusiasm for this is zero.

My MBF is myself for being an absolute idiot/klutz all weekend. 

On Friday one of the zoo regulars gave us baked goods for Thanksgiving and after a coworker had one and said there were no nuts, I grabbed a brownie. Of course there were nuts in it and 10 minutes later my entire face/neck/chest is red and full of hives and my throat starts closing. Ended up having to leave work via ambulance because I refused an epi since it can negatively impact baby. Had to take IV steriods at the ER but was more embarrassed that everyone at work watched me get carried away in an ambulance...

Then on Saturday I decided to go into work even though I'm still on steriods and a little out of it, so of course when pulling meat from the freezer, I slam my head on the metal bracket holding a shelf so hard that my head was gushing blood and I now have a concussion. Huge headache and super nauseaus, and I can't take anything other than Tylenol.

TL;DR I'm the worst. And I feel like I've been run over by a bus.

why are old people so mean/ think they can say whatever they want. I try not to take it personally bc I know anyone over 60 will say whatever they want about you, even if its behind your back. Thanksgiving I was eating (like everyone else) afterwards my cousin cuts my a piece of chocolate cake (bigger than I asked for might I add) and my great uncle (75 yrs old) said "you're just going to eat everything. we are going to have to watch you." It was super awkward only because everyone heard him say it. It was thanksgiving and I was eating like everyone else. I know all old people say things about pg weight gain either behind your back or to your face I just thought it was extra insensitive to say it when I was eating like everyone else on Thanksgiving. Oddly enough he cried later that night telling me how proud he was of me. So who knows.

My MIL got drunk at Friendsgiving on Saturday (she always gets drunk) and told my BFF “if we knew we were actually going to end up liking her (me) we would have paid for much better wine at their wedding”. 

It sounds dumb, but we’ve always known she didn’t like me - she made it very very painfully obvious leading up to the wedding. But this is the first time she has actually come out and straight up said it to me/right in front of me and it stung. 

Her and I get along a bit better now than we did back then, but I still know I’m not their favorite person in the world. But sheesh lady.

@doxiemoxie212 my sink did that a few years ago, and I was like....hmmm....what's that sound....huge mess. Now I check under there periodically.

My MBF is that I just found out my work partner is retiring, last day in 2 weeks! Which means I will have to pick up all her work, and no longer work 4 10 hour days (which was going to save us some childcare when I go back to work....since I'm off Mondays and DH is off Fridays...)  Not looking forward to working so much more for the same pay....grrrrrr

@doxiemoxie212 I imagine they will try to, but it will take quite some time. This is the urology side of my job, so it's difficult to find NPs/PAs that specialize in urology. I did tell my boss that I'm not ok with just absorbing it all by myself, at least not for the long term.

@bearmoons I hate that most companies don't really plan for people getting sick/pregnant/retiring/quitting, etc. I know they want to be as cheap as possible, but come on. Blargh. FX they get you some help as quickly as they can.

I had a hot water heater, 4 years old, covered by Sears warranty. Sears going out of business, tells me get an equivalent kind and they will reimburse, pay for delivery, install, and transfer warranty. Awesome. Order from Home Depot. They deliver. Box looks fine. Installer man hired by Sears comes and installs. After it's installed, it is smoking and the lights aren't working right on monitor. Man says it's defective. Leaves it hooked up. Leaves. Boyfriend and another guy, over the weekend, unhook, drain, lug upstairs, put on truck, bring back to HD to exchange. They are very nice , no trouble. Bring it home. Call back installer company, they want $392 because they already "installed one" I get it, the man did the labor but now I have to go back and talk to Sears about them authorizing another install charge. So tired of doing all the dirty work for an item that's under warranty! Crap has been going on for a week and a half and I just wanna be able to shower at home instead of my moms and have some damn hot water. $%÷#&!!!

@ffw0617 people suck; I probably would have ate a second piece of cake and made a snarky comment. My ability to hold back is diminishing now that I'm pregnant. I'm usually quiet but my patience and tolerance, especially for obnoxious people, is disappearing.

Thanks for the well wishes. I feel better today than I did yesterday, but still not great. And @doxiemoxie212 sometimes I swear I'm a fictional cartoon character! I think really I'm just a klutz, but still. 

@BurlapandLace omg I would be so upset if my MIL said something like that! Of course it stung, and being drunk isn't really a good enough excuse to say that. 

@dinodna3 so true! I should really stop trusting people cause that's not the first time I've been burned. One time I asked the person who made a fruit tart about nuts and she said no, so I grabbed one, had an allergic reaction and then she goes, oh well I did use almond flour. Gotta love people.

@BurlapandLace ugh, I’m sorry that happened about a year after our wedding, I found a letter that my mil wrote my husband the day before our wedding basically telling him that I wasn’t the future daughter-in-law that she had been praying for. I always knew his parents didn’t like me, but man, did I ever cry reading that. To this day it still stings thinking about it.

I guess my Monday bf is just family in general. I love my family. I love spending time with them. But it’s always the same ‘ol thing.. bashing other family members behind their backs, gossiping, complaining about their lives, complaining about their weigh, complaining about their finances... idk it all just gets REAL old after a while.

@dinodna3 it’s pretty diffucult, not going to lie. After having my daughter it got slightly better only because she was that “grandma figure” in my daughters life and I basically forced myself to try to forget the past for the sake of DD’s relationship with her. But it’s still quite obvious that there’s tension there on her part, and that she favours my sil (who married into the family a few years after I did.) I guess it is what it is.

My BF is just having to get an IV of fluids because of throwing up over 30 times yesterday... finally going to be starting some nausea meds. I also found out on if my employees is pregnant too and feels fine. So jealous! But now I get to panic about ya both possibly being on maternity leave at the same time. Ahhhhh.

@krashke that’s so annoying! At thanksgiving one of DHs relatives found out her niece is pregnant and she immediately texted a bunch of other relatives the news in case they didn’t know. I thought that was super rude and knew her niece was going to be annoyed but if she knows her aunt well she probably told her last! We haven’t announced to anyone except siblings and parents so we just sat around sheepishly while everyone was talking about babies. 

In other BF - my DHs friend from childhood is moving back here and SHE is in your face DRAMA. It’s actually his best friend’s sister. His other friend is having an alcohol relapse. These people need to get their act together...
