Pregnant after IF

2nd trimester check in for the week of November 27th

edited November 2017 in Pregnant after IF

Good morning!

This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."

Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.

Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can take you off.

Congratulations to @thucks for moving up to the 3rd trimester!!

Re: 2nd trimester check in for the week of November 27th

  • Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!! I worked all weekend, so I'm relaxing today and doing some cyber monday shopping! I got my stroller over the weekend on sale so that was a bonus!

I am due 4/24, we aren't finding out the sex and I'm 18+6 weeks. It's going by kinda fast! I feel the baby move consistently now and it's kinda freaky! next appointment isn't until Dec 14 for anatomy scan! I gained 9 pounds at my last appointment so I'm trying to be healthier (as I'm drinking starbucks christmas drink)..oh well.

We have a few names picked out, my husband refuses to think it's a girl (he's terrified of dating, periods, all that fun stuff haha) and Lily is the only name he will even entertain! For a boy we like Axel or Axl but haven't entirely committed to either yet!
  • Loading the player...
  • 25+3 with the twins
No appointments this week..just going to an elective ultrasound to see if baby girl will show her face, as last week she refused..lol..
As for baby names.. we have talked about them , but have not completely picked their names yet.

@ kaseycoco  you will be nearing the 3rd trimester soon! I bet you are getting excited for that milestone..
  • Hi everyone! I posted some awhile back in the first trimester thread, but then got busy and have been MIA for awhile.  Hope its ok if I join in.

I'm 22 weeks today, with an estimated delivery date of April 2, 2017.    My next appointment is Thursday for an ultrasound/check up.  The baby was moving too much to get proper measurements during our 18 week scan, so I'm excited they decided to do another ultrasound at this appointment so we can see the baby again.

QOTW:  We've actually had baby names picked out before I even got pregnant.  We aren't finding out the sex, but if it is a boy he will be named Brooks Edwin and for a girl we picked Finley Grace.  We haven't told any family/friends the names, and it is driving everyone nuts.  Lol.

@meredithj123 the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals have been super helpful for purchasing baby items.  I ordered a crib and glider on Wayfair Friday.  The crib was delivered today and the glider should be here later this week.  Can't beat the convenience and the prices were great.

  • Hello everyone! This week I hope to get my NIPT results back. Maybe Friday? And with it, the sex of the baby. Big news week.

As for names, husband and I have a short list we are keeping track of. It's pretty hard! For some reason boy names are harder for us to agree on. We've narrowed down our girl names pretty quickly.
    My TTC journey:

    IVF #1 July 2017 freeze all (20 eggs, 15 mature, 10 fert, 6 blasts, 4 PGS normal)
FET #1 TBD  Surprise BFP 9/2017 while waiting for FET... hoping for the best!

I'm 20+5 with a baby boy, but the baby has been measuring bigger than that so I don't know.
This week I have an appointment with MFM, and dietician (I have gestational diabetes).

As for names... I have a name that I like, just trying to get my husband on board with it.  My husband and I are both Asians, and I want a name for my baby boy that means something in both languages, with family ties.
    Me: 41  DH: 46
Unexplained infertility/AMA, polycystic ovaries, insulin resistance
    FET#1(July 2017): eSET of first of 4 PGS-normal embryos, DS born 3/30/2018
    FET#2(Oct/Nov 2019): eSET
  • @MMD1986 welcome to the second trimester!! I have added you.
  • Hey everyone! It's good to hear feom you all! I am 18+6 with B/G twins, and we had our anatomy scan this morning! Confirmed genders, which is nice cause I feel better about buying more baby stuff now, and they were perfect! The doctor said that everything looked great and that if there was anyone who would have an uncomplicated twin pregnancy, it would be me, so hopefully she's right about that! Still having plenty of discomfort and hip and back pain and such, but as long as the babies are healthy that's what matters!

As far as names go, we've had them pretty much since we got married lol. We have 3 girl names and 1 boy name and after PGS we had 3 girl and 1 boy embryos so we took it as a sign! Our girl will be Leilani Ellen and our boy will be Eliot Spencer. @cashewchicken my husband is Asian as well, so our boy will also have a family Chinese name but that is picked by FIL in their family. Good luck with figuring that out!
  • Hi all! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving :) I definitely ate the most I ever have thanks to my ever increasing appetite, but thankfully I was able to enjoy it without any pregnancy discomforts.
@momma6angels11 I know, I can't believe this is my last week in the second trimester, I feel like it's been flying by! I'm definitely looking forward to the big milestone of moving into the third trimester though.
@helloworld9 I feel the same way that boy names are harder. I've had 2 girl names that I've loved forever and once we found out we were having a boy it's been so hard to narrow down. My husband and I have a short list of favorites now, and I *think* we've decided on our top pick, but we're both so indecisive and can't 100% say we're committing until we meet our little man.
TTC #1 since Aug 2015 (unexplained infertility)
    10/16-12/16 -3 IUI, all BFN
2/17 IVF #1 froze 5 five day blasts
    5/17 FET#1 BFN
    6/17 FET #2 BFP :)  EDD 2/27/18

    Hi ladies,

Ive made my way over from the July FET message boards so im new around here!  I’m currently 22w4d with a boy and my EDD is 3/31.  So far this pregnancy has been going pretty well.  I Have some consistent nightly back pain that wakes me up often. Im mainly all belly, so its a lot of extra stress on my back since im normally pretty slender.  We had our anatomy scan on Nov. 12 and the little guy is measuring a few days ahead, which is good! Our next check up is Dec. 18 and our next ultrasound at 32 weeks is 2/4.  All check ups have been going very well.  Im feeling our little man kick all the time and they are getting stronger.  We have a list of names that ive been adding to for years, but we aren’t planning in sharing until the baby is born.  We also bought our nursery set this past weekend with the Black Friday/Cyber Minday deals and we’ve chosen our paint colors, so its almost registry time and we are getting stressed about that!

Hubby and I went through one round of IVF to get our little guy after (TW) one miscarriage and about 3 years of trying.  So we are super excited right now.

I look forward to hearing more about everyone else’s journey!

@kaseycoco I had this girl name I loved since college but it's now like one of the top 3 girl names for a few years! Such a bummer because I love it, but I didn't want to name our future girl a name that's gonna be shared by a few classmates growing up.

@dreamcometrue2017 Welcome! Glad to see you here!

AFM I got a call from the OB clinic today about my NIPT results. Short refresher, I had my 16 week AFP screen come positive for downs (1:225, supposed to be 1:500ish). So they called me back in for a blood draw for the NIPT. The NIPT was negative, so I'm in the clear!! (celebrates) Aaaaand, it's a boy! So now I realllllly have to think hard about boy names now!

  • @helloworld9 Congrats! I'm happy to hear that your NIPT came back negative!  And it's a boy!  Yay boys!

  • @cashewchicken Thank you! I kind of selfishly wanted one, since we have 4 blasts frozen and only one of them is a boy. So I was like, I only have one shot at a boy. But now this miracle happened!

  • @helloworld9 praise the lord the test results were just a false negative!! Im so glad to see that update!

I pray for the same results for @Prayingfor2
  • Thank you @momma6angels11 ! I really hope @Prayingfor2 also had false positives. It's just so infuriating the high rate of false positives from AFP. If there is a next time, I am totally not getting the AFP screening done.

  • @helloworld9 yay for false positives! With how high the rate for false positives seem to be I'm glad dh and I decided not to do any genetic testing at all.

I somehow missed this week, so I'll just answer the question then go to the current week's thread :) we've had names picked out for a couple of years now so it was really down to what are we having, lol! I had picked the first boy's name so dh picked the first girl and then we switched for the secondary names. That way we both got a say in it since twins. We both like the names the other picked which helps, too :)

  • Hello ladies, I missed this week so I will answer the QOTW and go to this weeks thread. We have our sons name chosen. His name will be Isaiah. My husband loves the name and the meaning. The name has grown on me ocer time!!!
  • @amanning2011 In hindsight I shouldn't have had any testing done. But the NIPT and knowing the sex ahead of the anatomy scan is a bonus.

    @rel_1987 Wonderful name!
